Looking good, Guy, Not quite as nice as Aaron in his lingerie (Dead [xx(]), but nice nonetheless. I've got some smoke ring decals on order myself. You guys are amazingly fast...I'm trying to find time to get to my 202.

Dang, you're almost done already?  Looks like you're gonna run outta GB's soon.  Just watching you progress that fast makes me tired!  Well done, those decals look pixilated in the photo, didn't look at them that close when they were here.  How did they go down?

Oh your so funny macneal! Is that G string still chaffing? LOL. Did a fair bit to the Cr.42 this evening. I decalled it completely and did the white fuzz band. Gave everything another coat of future. Mmmm, my list of stuff to do is getting smaller. I can almost smell my 1/32 Macchi 205, and its calling me. Woo hoo.

The camera is a female dog sometimnes. With the naked eye, it doesent look soo bad. Ill try giving it another dip in the future though. SC had an offer of a vacformed one, but i think im going to let it go. Ill white glue it on and if it really sucks to me i can always remove it with some warm water....hopefully..LOL

Guy the paint and camo is looking good.  Looks like the windscreen fits a lot better but do you have any way to fix that Crazzing?  Maybe it doesn't look so bad to the naked eye but in that close up photo it is very noticable.

As for no one being around I think that they are all waiting for a new page so they don't have to keep scrolling past those images of Aaron.  Yuck [yuck]

I'm here fella! Just 1/2 asleep and the other half very tired.  he decals look pretty good to me. Easier than airbrushing them in my case.  You both are progressing right along!  That is a whole lotta struts? Looks like enough for three or 4 aircraft to me.

On the canopy I'd go nuts.  I would carve out any bad windows. Front and side. The top looked ok. I would try to leave framing but if I could not I would use some PE scrap to replace framing. I would then replace the windows with simple plastic. The type you find vacuformed around like video games or CD's. You know things you have to cut out with a knife or scissors and still don't want to come out?  Very flexible clear stuff that when coated with Future does the trick nicely.  That's what I'd do especially since I know you capabilities with PE. Has to be easier than say a site reflcto on a gunsite?  Yawn Yawn......

Hi SC, just you and me here it seems LOL. The plane im doing is on the painting and marking sheet. Its for a plane from Scuola Caccia d'Assalto, Ravenna, Circa 1942. t depicts a day fighter without the spats, but im modelling it with em. They had to be on at some point, right?

Heres where im at, Heres the before..

and the after...

Heres my table of stuff ready and a friggin great pile of struts waiting for paint. They took the best part of an hour to clean up and de-nub LOL.

Oh and i sorted the screen out. I held it between finger and thumb and used a lighter, held at a distance untill i felt the plastic just start to give, and yes my fingers are made of asbestos LOL, in the close up you can see the crazing that was present before i did anything. Also the quality of the smoke ringed decals.

More soon,

...Guy

Looking foward to seeing some paint on it Guy. What plane are you depicting?  I do not recall seeing any Cr 42's with smoke ring camo. Do you have a color profile you are working from?      I have along of sanding and shaping to do tonight on the wing to  fulelage fit top and bottom. Not to bad  It just needs a little work to get it all looking nice and seemless. So its sanding sticks for me tonight!

I have a strange feeling that you actually like that picture too much Aaron. Does it ressemble a distant cousin from the deep south somewhere? LOL.

Crusher. I got some paint on the thing last night, top and bottom. I also managed to get some Future on it and allowed it to dry overnight. With any luck, my plan is to attempt the smoke ring camo using the decals that Frank sent me. Woo hoo, wish me luck.

Ill edit this pos with a pic of her all shiney before i start  decalling.

Nothing to exciting tonight. Some sanding and blending in the tail feathers and I puttied up the wing joints Just trying to keep up with Guy and his team of elves. My only hope is mounting the upper wing will slow him down a bit.Big Smile [:D]

My canopy doesnt look that clear to me. Its not a vacform though, which is a bonus. I too havent had an awfull lot of luck wqith them. My plan is to tape my windscreen to the right shape and then either do the hot water trick or the hairdryer. Hopefully it will come out ok. LOL

Thx for the offer of the spare VF, if i have any disasters when straightening this one, ill PM ya.

Aaron I am sorry to say but you are no where near the looker that Guy is. I believe that photo would put you in the class of a whole lotta love. The fishnets are a nice touch though.

Guy looks like we are building the same kit if we did not know any better huh? I had a fit problem with the windscreen on my Cr 42 also. Not quite as bad as yours but it definetly was the worst fitting part of the kit and the hardest part to work with. I hate vac formed canopies! They are the biggest pain in the rear to fit and always the worst looking part on any short run kit. Fortunatly when you install the upper wing it hides alot of the canopy so the poor fit will not stand out that much.Hey wait  I just looked at the pic agian and your canopy is injection molded! Your kit is alot different than the one I built. I have an extra vac form canopy if you can not get yours to fit. I would be happy to sent it your way if you want. I kinda feel guilty because I nagged you into building this kit along with me.

Nice Job, SC. It looks like your at the same stage as me, ish.

I see the filler on your tail stabs. Ive just started using this wonderfull stuff from Valejo.

My mate, Big E bought it for me, so it seemed only decent to try it out LOL. Heres the tail before. Very bad fit with no location pins,

I smeared a dollop in with a knife blade and then wiped the excess off with a wet fingy tip,

Bit of a sand and your done. Lovely jubbly.

Also ive de-nubbed some wonderfull resin bomb bits.

A small problemette that i came accross was the fit of the windscreen. Id read it was a bit of a pain but didnt realise it would be this bad LOL. Its resting in the right hand side but look how far out the L/H/S is,

Hopefully get some paint on the bird today

Ah your all amatuers when it comes to teeth. Try six metal post inserts in your upper jaw all in a row. About 20 hours of surgery done over a three month period. All done with only local injections. Who's the man now! Ha Ha!

Now back to some model type stuff. I made some good progress on the Re 2000. Fuse halves joint and cockpit inserted. then managed to get the wings attached to the whole thing. slapped a good amount of putty on the tail feathers so i can smooth them into the fuselage properly.

Guy I am vindicated. I read a review of this kit done on Modeling Madness and the same problem occurred with the engine failing to fit in the cowl. The head were sanded down to make it possible to fit the engine in the cowl. So I feel a little better now that it was not just me but a design flaw of the kit.

As for the teeth, my wife just had one pulled last friday so I know you're in for a real treat doing four at once.  I still have all 4 of mine.  Well, actually 3 1/2 but we won't go there.  Disapprove [V]  I'll be looking forward to your emails.  Wink [;)]

You are such a great guy, I tell ya what I'm gonna do...I'm gonna follow in your steps and get dental work and painkillers too!Dead [xx(] I'm finally around when my dentist is free, so next Tuesday I get to get all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. They're all badly impacted, so much so that I get general instead of local anesthetic, so I'm anticipating some fun times with pain killers, the internet, and y'all! Seriously though, all y'all are a lot of fun.  The boards have certainly been a lot livelier since I got to know y'all a bit.  You're all aces!Propeller [8-]Make a Toast [#toast]Bow [bow] If y'all are ever in or near Tucson, let me know, and we'll get together.

Now as a special bonus surprise for putting up with my mushy stuff, check this out.

Someone made an extremely accurate D.520 3D Model using some sort of CAD program.  You can look at individual parts, read their names, or see how it all fits together.

You do have to download it, but its free of viruses and malware, and doesn't install anything on your computer.

I was away for one night and now we have Aaron running around the streets in his tighty whities. What has this GB come to,cant wait to see whats next. Aaron is a good egg though, he helped me in BOB GB with making me a prop for my FW-200.

On the decal side of things, I have them hanging in the window hoping they will white up a bit to be usable. I hope this works.
