Well, ive made a small but beautifull start on the CR.42.

Heres the colours for the bird im doing. Im still undecided as to wether to remove the wheel spats. Im raher partial to spats and it seems a shame to remove them. Ooh decisions decisions.

I started on the engine as well, this is a 14 cyl radial with each of the cylinders separately cast. Some good, some bad. Guess where the bad ones are goig LOL, yep at the back.

The pit is started as well. The kits instructions are pretty rough. There are several bits that art mentioned in the instructions at all. Leaving it up to the modeller to try to work out there whereabouts LOL. The seat back was great, its soo thin you can almost see right through it.

Anyhoo, work starts in about an hour so i spose i better get ready.

...Guy

Oooh, can anyone find  goodpicture of the engie in this sucker. As i need to detail it further.

Dave, your lines? mmmmm.... by y quick deductions there are only around 80 there? Its a shame you dont have a multi finger to cheat type really quickly LOL. Like the pencil with 10 ends. I really hope you cut and pasted, or im going to feel so guilty. Yeah right!!

You think youve got it bad. Ive got....GUY can you make me a coffee.....or GUY, can you help me to the bathroom...or GUY, were out of TP can you get some.....or Whats for tea Guy, or have you walked the dogs GUY...Geez shes only bin laid up a day and it feels like a ear. I can hear my models callng me through the ether, where are you, we miss you, come play with us. Oh man. Help!!! LOL

Steve, Your progress is going great guns. The seat belts look good to me, but didnt the Italians use some sort of chains on thier plane belts? The sado massochistics that they were. (God that was al ong badly spelt word for this time in the morning).

Oh and less lip summit or ill demand pictures of you running around your block in your underwear as pennance!!

Frank, are you prone to violent oral outbursts on your poor PC, i read you mentioning it before with our illustrious and Illusive Aaron. I think, though, i have the answer.

OOh yeah, Look Frank. A built in optivisor. Looks like its made of a good hardwearing material. Dribble and spittal proof. I even think it would be a damn fine fit.

You know you want one.

Thanks Dave and Summit. Dave you are one crazy guy !!!!!. Cant believe you actually wrote it all. Please tell me you copied and pasted it all.

I have no idea whats wrong with me but I guess I am in a building frenzy and was at the bench from 6pm till 2am. This Hasegawa is an amazingly easy kit to build. Lots of parts but excellent fit and no problems at all so far. I feel like i am building like I did when I was a kid. The IP I messed up so on went the kit decal and not too bad. I have no Italian belts so I used some IJN belts. Now for the sanding part, uuggghhhh, and I will have to find the RLM 78, hope the store has it. I am doing the smoke rings camo but dont have a guide so I need help with that. I think Aaron may have the scheme so if you do can you find a pic of the underside of this camo job.

Guy, did you say something about making progress.

Steve - I like it, good to see some building going on here. Approve [^]Yeah!! [yeah]  I have had no luck finding the right colors myself. Hobby shop is to far to go for half a dozen bottles of paint, I am mixing "Close to my Eyes" paint from German RLM's.

Dave - Your a Wildman, I bet your eyes are crossed from typing all that. Just think how much modeling you could have done it that time Wink [;)] Laugh [(-D]

Oh boy, I can see how this GB is going to go. Make fun of the dumb Irish guy, that cool. I did get some refrences for the interior and am glad I picked up that interior green. I am still not decided yet on the fuselage but the 79 and Italian sand are very close in the jar, instructions say 79. The other thing I was stumped by was the under surfaces and wells etc are RLM 78. I have never used 78 before so back to the LHS for that. Cant even remember seeing it on the shelves?. So here is where I am for tonights work. All Interior is painted and I have a decal for the IP but I am going to try painting first. If it goes wrong use decal as the backup. The wings and wheel wells are done. There is a main spar and the gear boxes are built around the spar. Very well done by Hasegawa. The fuselage in the pic is just for fit and is not glued yet. I have to finish the IP and belts then I can button her up.

So far this kit is a beauty and the fit is excellent. Catch up Guy, your falling behind mate.

Guy according to my diligent research i have come to believe the correct color for  the Cr 42 interior is a pale green. I usef RAF interior green on mine and it looks good to my eye. I do not know about the Mc 202 or 205 series. The 2000 series also seem to have used this same pale green. Hope this missus is feeling better. Take good care of her and you might get a $200.00 pound gift certificate to the hobby store. I have been pluging away at both GB's. I will post pics when there is something worth looking at. The Re 2000 is turning out to be a pretty nice kit for a short run kit. I am most pleased.

Wow what a snafu!  Those colors almost look like the old testers wood color to me. Really close I think.

Steve the two sand colours are very close.  Here's a couple of projects

Italian Sand (MM Enamel)

RLM 79 (Gunze Acrylics)

As for the interior colour I have only seen the interior green called for.  I don't know about the grey.  Sorry?

The way the conversation was going that was what I thought it meant but wasent sure. Thanks for ending my suffering Alex. I had one of those once but with my stubborn Irish thick head, well you get the picture. Now back to our regularly scheduled model building.

I never heard on the colour question. Hasegawa says light grey interior but I picked up Italian interior green for the 202, yea or nay.

The fuselage calles for RLM 79 which I thought was right but I picked up Italian sand (2110) just to be safe. Im off to the bench now to start the pit.

Congrats Alex.
