                        does anyone know whether firefly shermans had the .50 cal mg that comes with dragon kit? in my eduard PE set the gun you get to make looks more like a .30 cal to me...i'm not really up on my US machine guns so not really sure what gun (if any) to mount on my Vc turret.
                        as soon as i thin i've asked every possible question, another one goes and pops into my tiny head!!Tongue [:P]

                        Wow, everyones' sherms are turning out really great!! Cool [8D]
                        I found this clip of a sherman on a reenactment site of the 2nd armored. It may take a while to load; so patients, patients is a vertue you have if you're building models (or should have Mischief [:-,])

                        It's pretty awsome. I saw this tank during a "battle". It fires blanks and has a recoil for it too(12 inches or 30 cm).

                        I have one more question for now. What did tank destroyer crews do with empty shells, did they throw them out or just drop them?

                        Ok Gang I hope this picture comes out ok. Here is a quick pic of my Sherman that just needs a coat or two of Dullcoat and then a little more weathering and she will be done.


                        This weekend besides working on the model I watched "A Bridge to Far" thanks to Robert,, among others I found my self trough out the movie going theres and easy 8,, there goes a firefly,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I am now a certified shermanaholic.

                        thanks manWink [;)], so in terms of exhaust marks, where do you normally put them/where would they be? was most of the "dirt" chucked out pushed down and away from the rear hull before it darkened the tank?
                        i've looked at a couple of real smart models on other sites, some of them heavily weathered and failed to see any exhaust marks that's all...

                        Refer back to the picture above of the Firefly ...... you see the doors on the lower hull that access the engine compartment. On the M4A4 the exhaust is above that under the overhanging rear plate on the upper hull.

                        Absolutely. Great thing about a real quality resin kit is that it makes a mediocre modeler look like an expert! Thanks to Formations for that.

                        Thanks I had actually noticed that this morning when I again failed to log on. For those who haven't looked yet, you have to delete the cookie for your fine scale modeler account. We don't use a version of Windows here at my job for me to choose the individual cookie (not following the instructions anyway), so I just deleted all cookies, probably not a bad idea anyway.

                        Nick - you do come up with some questions that make me work to find a picture to back my words. lol

                        The box was welded onto the back of the Friefly, so there would be a remnant of some kind even if it's just a weld line.
                        Here's a pic that shows a few "leftovers".

                        i plan to put the rear storage box of my firefly on a rack at the front as i've read that a lot of british crews had it rigged up that way.
                        now what i'm not sure about is the rear hull panel that's left with the "raised bits" on it which would be used to locate the storage box. should i just sand it flush, or would there always be some kind of mounting here?
