Those pictures are pretty bad. I might just have to take a couple of pics with the regular camera and scan them a couple weeks down the road, but I have heard rumors we may be gatting another digital camera, I'm half tempted to buy one myself, although that would mean money out of my savings for a truck

update on the m4a4 with 60 lp rocket.. well its all most done now. just got to put on the boogie wheels assembles and do some more painting. now for the good part after giving up on the indy tracks for it i won me a set of them on ebay today and should be here in time for the fisnish date. niece still hasnt found my camera so when i get thru the old way of taking pics i will send some to shermanfreak of my m7 priest and my m4a4 and both reports. slo what about this i think shermanfreak needs a needs new name like shermanmaster or shermaninfo. rest of the shermies are looking real good

Ron - I'd have to say the majority that i have seen were white.
But like you mentioned, no hard fast rules.

hey do remember tenas m10 dio that was covered in snow?? I used the idea (hairspray and baking soda) and put a bunch of snow on my m10. boy does that look like snow!!! I'll have to get a pic of it in the snow here.

Anyhoo, hatches! I was looking through some references last night and found some periscope mount 'sleeves' left unpainted inside (I think they're made of aluminum??) and looked to be steel in color ... remember, that's the 'sleeve' that the periscope fits into, not the ring mount itself.
For my build, I was wondering about engine access door color (radial engine). The restored ones I've seen where white inside, but those aren't necessarily original colors. So, I found a photo of an M3A3 and a Sexton, both had white also on the doors in back as well as on the inside of the back deck covers. The M4A3's I've seen had both the back deck covers and little access door in back painted OD..
Anybody have any thoughts on that? It's probably another one of those some did and some didn't type things.

Finally finished tinkering with things (except the commander figure and stowage - not much of it), I gave up on the periscope guards though. I'll throw some paint at it and take some pics with my SLR and post them soon. A couple of deadlines are approaching.

Here's a question, on an M10, how tall is the antenna, and then how tall would it be on a 1/72 scale M10? I would figure it out, but in all my reference photos, the antenna gets cut off so I can't see the top (not that I would be able to measure anyways). Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.

Trevor, Looks great! OUCH! I was going to post my Sherman the same way, bricked street and all! Probably still will. The back deck will be off and there'll be some heavy track maintenance going on... like yours. I'm sure my figures won't look as good though.

firstly, as ever, the pics that i keep seeing here are great; i'm torn between being inspired and very depressed!

anyway, finally got round to putting in some hours on my dragon firefly (at last i hear you all say!)...i never realised how many pieces went into those suspension!! (11 i think per set[:0])
managed to put on the eduard front mud guards and "dent" them a bit, so pleased with that...but basically still left with a colourless hull at the moment.

now 2 quick questions re the driver and his hatch: what colour should the interior of the hatch be? i plan on having it open, with driver's head poking out, so how "open" should the hatch be? does it lay completely flat on the hull, or was there a stopper of some sort keeping it raised at an angle?
sorry if these has been gone over before; i know i'm way off the pace.

Yep, shave their butts. only other choice is lowering the seats and that will be noticeable.

Ok, I've got a problem, maybe you guys and gals can help. I got my figures the other day. I picked out the ones I want to use. Considering I'm going to be sealing the hull on my M10 and closing the hatches, I have to put in the pilot and co-pilot (you can see them through the turret) now. Keep in mind this is small, 1/72 scale. I paint the figs beautifully (for me at least), go to test the fit with them on the seet, thats fine. I go to put the top on, they're heads are in the way. It wont close! AAAHHHAAA!!! What should I do? Should I sand down their thighs to lower their sitting heights or what? You wont be able to see that part with the seet backs up. What should I do? Any suggestions? Thanks

Split my moulds for the 17 pdr rounds. Have decided to make the rest from styrene rod, seeing as only the front ones are really visible. Have completed all the basic construction on the Achilles now, just need to replace the moulded on turret tie downs, add some chain to the fller caps and glue down some casting no's. At this rate it will be finished before the Panther!
