I wasnt sure if that was a Griz outside the shack I heard this morning or just the rumblings of Aarons  Coffee and Burritos I heard coming up from Texas.

Well I broken sprue, decided to skip the traditional waffles for breakfast and eat like a real soldier. I have here a genuine Vietnam Issue C ~Ration Chocolate Nut roll for snacking on.  Been saving it for a special ocassion. I wanted to have it for my Wifes and my Anniversary but she said "No efin way" Shock [:O] ...  Yeah I was pretty shocked at her reaction also Confused [%-)]

All I need is a "John Wayne" and some coffee to wash it down Wink [;)]

It being a 48 hour GB coupled with the fact that I had to come to town to post these pics means that I won't get to comment on everyone's builds yet...I wish I could! Awful lot of good stuff getting cranked out. A 24 hour Lancaster! A sweet Tiger! Flaming hot rod decals! Wow! Cool [8D]

This morning the Harriers got the final white primer coat (missed a couple of spots), followed by detail painting around the pit, canopy masking, and paint demarcation masking, followed by spraying of the main body color and panel highlighting. Whew! Had hoped to get to the pre-decal future coat by the time I came into town (so it could dry) but didn't quite make it. Will spray that first thing when we get home, let it dry for an hour or two, then start decaling.

Here we go with some pics!

First one is last night after about 8 hours of work:

Mia hard at work with the airbrush this morning Big Smile [:D]:

And where we stand right now, 24 hours in:

Sean,

I wouldn't go in there if I were you.  That's not a jacuzzi, that's the result of Mac eating waaaaaaay too many bean burritos.Yuck [yuck]

Mac,

Nice job on the Lanc.  You could shoot your RAF guy with some dullcote, unless he's a shiny, happy person kinda guy.  So what's next?  A squadronmate? An escort? The Tirpitz?

Brett,

Nice work on the Tiger.  Looks a lot better with the wash.

To all the others, keep up the good work.  I'm outta here at about 1600 CST, a trip to the LHS and the store for some grub and I'll get the Spectre rolling.

Sean,

Don't know why, but when I read that, the galley scene from Down Periscope ran through my mind.  Went something like this:

Rob Schneider: "Buckman, this stuff's been on the Stingray since 1945!"

Buckman: "I don't know sir, it still tastes like cream corn."

RS: "But it's devilled ham!"

Buckman: "Oh, that could be a problem sir."

Buddy - I remember that scene.. What a great laugh Laugh [(-D]

Hey that Chocolate Nutroll was just as good as the day it was baked.. Kinda dry but I remember them always being that way.

Since this PZL has an open pit I figured I should at least add a harness.

Photobucket Still need to touch up the buckles..

Man

You guys (and Mia!! Big Smile [:D]) get more done in 48 hours that I normally get done in 48 days!  Really impressive stuff in here!  I am truly impressed.

Okay guys... I'm in a bit of a rush but I'm basically done. Some of the decals were silvered and I needed to remove them (hence some of the scratches which I kinda like) so I did that and my Hayate is done. I'll post more later.

Frank is your Corsair expecting or just bloated? Sean um you really ate that?  Oh dear. Your stomach will start making noise like that Tiger Tank. Bean Burrito's and Coffee  keep me steady and don't forget the Hot Sauce!

Priceless! It reminds me of the quote: I don't play with my models, but from time to time I do conduct reality assisted combat simulations.

How you got your significant others into filming you is the real achievement, not building that lanc in 24 hours with spinning props.

Summit thanks, your PZL looks like its coming along nicely as well. Those inter-war Czech and Polish designs were really something else.

Well thats me done at the 47 hours and 18 minute mark.

I gave it a quick hit with the dry brush, and finally fitted the M.G., and still had 42 minutest to spare (I should have built two of them).

I'll set up the camera and post some good pics shortly.

... time to break out the popcorn.

You guys are just awesome. So much great stuff being done in such a short time.

Ive been kyboshed a touch. As the 2 days off, im due, tuesday and wednesday are now 1 day. So im afraid, as i dont have a 2 day window in the very near future, im going to have to gracefully bow out. Sorry. And as Aarons t shirt says, 'Its all daves Fault'

Come on Guy, if Aaron can bang out a !/48 Tamiya Lancaster in 22 hours I'm sure you could pull off a Piaggio or a Ju 290 in the same amount of time.  Heck, it's a whole day, live a little. Wink [;)]

What can I say Aaron, the shirt suits you.  One question though, did you purposely stand in front of that Christmas Angel as some kind of halo/I'm innocent subconcsious ploy to sell the "It's Dave's fault" pitch???  Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

Work is progressing on the J7W1 Shinden but I am having serious fit issues with this old Tamiya kit.  Lots of filling and sanding to get it to look right.

Thanks Dave

I'll look forward to the next one, but don't make it too soon, I'm going to have to earn some more brownie points with the wife.

Arron... love that optivisor - it suits you.

OK, 20 hours in and I am almost ready to paint!  The plastic on these egg planes is a bit different than regular kits, so filling and sanding has been difficult.  Still, got this far!

Many, many hours were spent designing and creating the custom made paint stand. Big Smile [:D]

Sean- Looking good!  You know what...

If you turn that plane right side up, it would look like a Corsair! Approve [^]

Aaron- OMG, you're nuts!!!  Great video, love the hat. Thumbs Up [tup]

Your right Dave I am simply an angel ain't I?Evil [}:)] Whistling [:-^] You'd never guess who sent me the T-shirt? Question [?]

Guy!  You can do it!  Build something else if need be!  Heck  You can make a sculpture out yer boogies! and it would look good! You got the magic!  Wouldn't be bowing around some of these fellows!

Dead [xx(]

Well I got some good news on the Landcaster. All that effort and lack of sleep  just to have a shorted motor kinda bummed me out.  Then I remembered I had gotten one of those Tamiya Prop action Zero's off E-bay way back when.  It had the same motor but a diff hook up.

A little grade school science class wiring and a careful switching out of the micro -motors and presto 4 working props! Thumbs Up [tup]Party [party]

If your gonna make a gimmickey model, the gimmick should work!  Now I can say she is proper and I am proud to have pulled it off!

 http://s397.photobucket.com/albums/pp60/namredneck/?action=view&current=MOV01344.flv

Neu Great looking Hayate!  I'd call it a Frank but Haligan would get jealous!

Frank!  That thing looks like you polished it! I am glad you got it on the sticks and foam or it just wouldn't have been you! Thumbs Up [tup]Laugh [(-D]

Brett that Tiger is too cool! I was thinking it was 1/35 until you posed it next to the paint jar! It's small size makes your work all the more impressive to me!

How many we got done now? 3?

Andrew - I like that saint scheme. Thumbs Up [tup] I just sprayed a similar one on a Spitfire M VB a few days ago.

Brett -  Bow [bow] You are the Tiger Master. I am Really Impressed with it. Makes me want to build one now..

Frank -  Very Cool, now get some paint on that thing. I really think it would look poached with a spiral on the hub Thumbs Up [tup]

Aaron -  Awesome video's and Supendous Job on the Lanc. Since you most likely tired yourself out on that one I would be more then happy to take your other one so you dont stress over having to build it Wink [;)]

Tom - Looks like your ready for a fire mission - Way Coool Thumbs Up [tup] Thumbs Up [tup]

Oh - I almost forgot an update on the PZL
