Thanks Bish,

I'm really pleased that I made it under the wire.  As I finish detailing what I'm building now I've been trying to decide what to build next.  This will make it easy!

I'll have the list and photos posted later this morning.

Best Regards,

John

John Today is the last day for joining. So your still just withing the time line. I would suggest posting your list, with pics if you have them, just to save a bit of time. I am sure Kenny will be on before the end of the day and if you have it all posted will be easier for him.

And welcome back to the hobby and to the site.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Good evening,

I just found this group and I'm wondering if I could still join the group build?  I recently started building plastic models again after almost 40 year layoff.  Things have changed a lot to say the least.  I have bought quite a few models before I started building anything.  I like USN aircraft and Japanese aircraft.  I have a few resin models of cargo aircraft I worked on in the USAF made by Anigrand but have never built a resin model.

Anyway, please let me know if I can join and what I need to do.  I can send pictures and list tomorrow.

Best Regards,

John McMakin

OK guys,

I just took an inventory of the IMS4 voting system to see how close I am to having everyone registered and all the stash lists added.  Out of 25 members, looks like almost everyone is ready to go.  Your name needs to be on both of the lists below to fully participate in the vote.  If you are missing, but have already provided the necessary information, then please notify me because something went wrong.  As far as i know I am all caught up to the point.  Otherwise, please get your PM w/email address to me for registration and/or your stash list posted here, whatever the case may be.

We'll be voting in a couple weeks!

Cheers,
WH

Uh, no.  That last sentence is not clear at all.

That being said, pushing guys to actually finish builds is a great and noble cause.  It's something I've been harping on for a long time.

If you sign up for a GB, you've made the statement you are going to complete a build (or multiple) in certain time span.  Despite the fact it's just a hobby, take responsibility, manage yourself and see it through.

Certainly life gets in the way and exceptions will happen.  Far too often however, guys simply can't manage themselves.  Sign up for too many GB's at once, forget they signed up, lose interest, have ADD in starting new builds one after the other while never finishing anything, etc. etc.

Good luck, bondo.  I have yet to see a GB with 100% completion.  25-40% seems to be the norm, which is unfortunate.

Building Now:

1/48 Academy Bf-109G6 - 100%

1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A - 5%

Upcoming:

Here's a challenge. The hosts Kenny and IL2 will be putting many hours into this GB. We owe them the respect of actually being commited to build what gets picked. I will stake my name on finishing each kit in my stash, in order picked, from July 1 to December 31 2010, for the first three  finished before June 30, 2010 by the rest of you, in addition to the first one dumped on me. Clear???

Thanks guys!

Oddly I don't seem to have as much problem working a new Tamiya or Hasegawa kit so I'd like to go with the complex, esoteric, and downright bizarre stuff I've managed to collect that I can't seem to get motivated to start ;). I've tried to avoid stuff other people have already listed and broke the 15 down into three categories.

AIRCRAFT (ALL 1/48)

1). CF-18 Tiger Meet Hornet - Hasegawa kit with Flightdecs Canada decals.

2). P-47D Thunderbolt (Ok, not really a complex kit but I hate natural metal. I have been reading the tips on the NM group build so I think I'm up to this - I hope!)

3). Mitsubishi G4M 'Betty' (Tamiya)

4). F-15J Shiro Ruyu 'White Dragon' airshow fighter (Hasegawa kit with Two Bobs decals)

5). Flying Flapjack (never build a Sword kit but as short run should be a challenge)

ARMOUR (ALL 1/35)

6). IJA Type 3 Chi-Nu (FineMolds)

7). Soviet/Russian Federation T-80UD (Zvesda/Revell)

8). British Comet (Bronco)

9). Aussie Centurion (AFV Club)

10). U.S. M4A3E8 Sherman (Dragon)

SF/FANTASY AND GENERAL WEIRD STUFF

11). StarFleet Miranda class CL NCC-1864 U.S.S. Reliant (AMT/Ertl kit with fiber optic goodies added)

12). Dalek (Comet Miniatures - EXTERMINATE!!!!!)

13). Dragon (Dark Sword Miniatures - from a Larry Elmore painting but I'm not sure which one. Scaled to 28mm gaming figures - about a foot/30cm in size.)

14). Firefly class light transport Serenity (Stargazer models)

15). Gyaos (Tsukuda Hobby- big vampire bat, pterosaur, Tokyo-destroying, turtle-hating vile beastie.)

 That's all folks!

Finally my list of models for your voting pleasure.

St. John Order Knight(54mm)

Highlander (54mm)

Joseph

I have an idea for a cool graphic treatment to experiment with on this guy.

MSM 07 Z'GOK (144th)

Paint scheme would be something to make the model look like an urban camo, assualt power armor suit.

Wolverine

painted and sculpted to look like Zombie Wolverine

Corvette Grand Sport

will get the PE set for this kit.

64 Impala

would model this as a traditional lowrider

Corvette CR-5 Lemans

would get the PE for this too

Acura Integra type R

this one is ambitious. Costum graphic over the entire body and working neon under body.

32 Ford Highboy

built as a mild beater rat rod with plenty of detail and PE

32 ford 3 window coupe

Maybe built as a 70's rod like my dad built them.

70 ford torino GT

mako shark

PE added of course.

Corvette Z06

Two tone paint scheme

"Grasshopper" Tank 1/35

So that is my 15, quite the variety i know.

Happy voting!

Workbench: Lord of the Rings, Fellowship Figures. Panzer II dio, Crimson Skies inspired 1/72 plane.
