IDF Group Build Mk. II 2010-2011

is this now the 2013 GB or is that another newly formed GB from the folks that brought you this one. i am soooooo confused

Here's the starting day and ending date. I want to start this thing on May first 2010 and run till the end on December 31 2011.

isn't this GB kinda past its prime?!  I mean, it's 3-yrs old, for cripes sake!

Someone recently made a new badge for 2013 , so I was hoping it would continue on . I have some Cpl Overby M4 shermans I would like to complete .

i updated the badge. working on an M-38 jeep w/ 106mm RR used by idf recon folks in '67.

Here's my three next  IDF Sherman builds using the Cpl Overby resin conversion hulls and turrets along with Dragons bogies and tracks

I have made a tentative start on the M51 by gluing all the small bogie parts together . I still need to file some more on the underside of the resin hull , there's still a small part of the pour block showing .

The other two are a early M50 and late M50 . I'll be doing quite a bit of sanding and filing tomorrow on a Mach 2 C-123 build for the Air America GB . So I may as well add the M51 into the mix and clean her up .

I would very much like to make some real progress on at least the M51 this weekend .

I down loaded a copy of the new badge but I'll wait until I finish the first Sherman before displaying it .

This is sort of transforming from a group build to a "special interest group"!

should finish the jeep on sunday. broke a number of handles though found all of them and was able to make repairs. wheels and windshield aren't glued on so they mau look unaligned. some fit issues but probably more me than the kit. at least i don't have a lot of decals to put on, maybe some hebrew on the side.

finished this one up. some fiddling with the chassis but probably a paint issue with me. broke a number of fiddly things but all were found and repaired. towel in lap caught at least 3 pieces. idf recon unit '67 war. a lot of idf was still od then. windshield is folded down and wrapped in a tarp. was going to add some water cans and ration boxes but there is really no room.

tried artist pastels to weather the dust, ochre and medium gray mix. undercarraige is base coat and my new favorite for that, raw umber wash. for some reason i tend to weather standing up at my big workbench. fo figure.

i am giving a weathering demo to my wood ahip club this saturday so i think i will camo my JGPZ-IV and LVT(A)-4 and use them for demos. may even get the mask for the black camo on my GRIZZLY
