The top engine cowling section has lined up nicely , that's the most important part . Don't worry too much about the nose section not quite matching up perfectly , that's a fault with Italeri's kit not the modeler , I found that out the first time I tried to put one together . Anyway it's easier to sand and putty the front section to get everything to blend in .

You and Travis are making nice progress on your HRS-2's , my two are nearly ready to glue both fuselage halves together , I'll post some pic's shortly .

Thanks for the good words Helo.  I was a little worried about the misalignment of the upper section.  I took your advice from you earlier post and made sure the rear section was lined up good and not to worry about the forward section.  I managed to get the panel lines in the forward section to line up.  I should be able to make it look like a helicopter when I am done........I hope.

Nice work to everyone else in the GB! 

I got an update with the HRS-2 that I have been slowly working on. 

I managed to get the fuselage sections all buttoned up.  I didn't have any time to sand the seams but it appears that very little putty will be needed.  Good thing.......I used up most of my putty on the B-1 Lancer.

Hey. its been confiremed about the Mig15, I'm changing my model to Tamiyas Mig15, I wont know the markings till it comes in.

If anyone was interested in a 1/72 SA-16B Albatros , Tower Hobbies there in the US has them listed as "Order Pending" ; I just back ordered two of them . I don't know what decals come with the kit but one of them I'll airbrush black all over for a 3rd Air Rescue Service , Korean War bird .

The price is listed as $19.95 each , not too bad considering the $55 plus asking price for the early release kit from a couple of those Vintage-Hard to Find on-line hobby kit merchants . At one stage I was even thinking about paying that much ; Thank God , common sence kicked in . I think it was fellow FSM member Aaronw say's sometimes it pay's to wait ......"sure does"

Greg and John: Thanks guys! I painted everything free-hand with my airbrush. I ended up with a good bit of overspray and had to go back several times to paint over it. There's still a little there but after the filters it's much less visible and I'm crossing my fingers by the time I finish weathering it will vanish.

If all else fails about half the photos I've seen show the vehicles covered in mud so I figure I can cheat a little if I have to...

Pepper: If all else fails please post the photos as links, I'd love to see how things are going.

Pepper , sorry to hear about your continueing issue's with uploading pic's , here's a scan of the imageshack instructions again , I wish I could be of more help but when it comes to computers , I'm not the 'brightest bulb in the pack'....

Pepper: I can click on the link and see the image without any problems. Question though are you posting the HTML code or the IMG code? If you post the IMG code it should go into your post looking the same way as your link, but when you hit the post button it will convert over into a photo.

Stikpusher: Thanks, actually I didn't have a choice there since the aftermarket storage came as a large chunk of resin with the storage items molded in place with the turret basket it replaces.

OK, I have Photobucket with one image in it ... when I put the cursor on the image, nothing happens ... I don't get a drop down menu ...

If you have photobucket it is fairly simple. Put your cursor on a pic, you will get a drop down menu, move to the IMG code, select, highlight and copy it. Then paste it on here

I have Photobucket but am lost as how to post pictures from there to here ...

I'll go back through it all again and ask questions here if I can't figure it out ...

Gamera, your K1 is really shapig up nicely now! I am gonna have to try that method of paining the stowage after attaching it and painting the vehicle first one day.

Pepper, I am building the Revell F-84E for another GB on here (NMF/ NMFII I am slow...LOL). Yes it is a VERYnice kit. No filler needed at all. I will post my pics once it is done since it is a Korean War subject. To post images here you need a photobucket or similar type photosharing account.

Hi All:

Sickness and computer problems have kept me away from the GB ...

I still have had no luck in starting a new thread or posting any images ... I'm just using the REPLY button on the last message posted ...

I've almost completed an F-84G Thunderjet that was used in Korea ... haven't seen anyone talk about this aircraft so thought I'd give it a go ...

Am using the 1999 Revell 1/48 kit ... amazingly, the parts fit well - no filler used yet - and Revell put together an interestng construction sequence along with a goodly amount of 'extras' I've not seen in other kits ... the one item that I've added from the 'aftermarket' is a set of white metal landing gear purchased from Scale Aircraft Conversions (check 'em out on-line - they've a great selection) ...

I'll be finishing the kit today and hope to get into the paint booth this afternoon ... the T-jet has a pretty basic paint schem with all the color supplied by good decals ... if I can ever figure how to post images, I'll send some up ...

Carlos: Long time no see! Was wondering where you'd been but haven't seen any Japanese cities destroyed on the news lately. Thanks for the tips on the Panther, the nose was a little rough but seems ok with a little sanding and putty. Looking forward to the MiG-15, I haven't seen many of those built up.

Anyways here's the current state of the K1A1. Camo is done and I hit her with some satin finish and three coats of MiG filter for multi-coloured German vehicles. The filters are supposed to bring all the different camo shades together. I'm happy with how she looks though MiG recommends more coats I'm thinking of leaving her as she is. First time I've used the filter and there are a few small areas I need to clean up since I wasn't supposed to let it pool.

Good to see the thread back up and humming! I was afriad I'd have to post some more Korean KheeseKake.....

sounds great,....Im holding out for a Trumpee kit....although the Tamiya kit os good Ive read that the Trumpee has better engine and cockpit detail....I also read something about an incorrect wing angle on the Tamiya kit.....not too sure about that. would be fun to compare builds once we get going...

Im with you there, The Sabre just isnt interesting to me at this point. BUT I did come across some very good luck. I have a friend in Texas that called a hobby store near him and the happen to have a Tamiya Mig15 that he's going to pick up and ship to me. Most likely I'll be changing my choice of model for this GB now.

Gamera....watch out for that nose cone to fuselage seam on that panther....I had to do some sanding to align...

Hey Gamera...nice looking Panther...I built one of those for last years GB....nice kit, goes together real nice...do watch the nose weight or she will sit down....not bad work...for a turtle...

stikpusher, is it too late to join? I've got settled into my new home and am ready to get back to some modeling. I have an M4A3E8 and would like to do a Korean War version in the summer camo scheme.

Sorry the photos of the K1A1 are a little blurry which I didn't notice till I posted them on PhotoBucket. Still I was able to finish the camo this weekend and will try to get better ones posted before the end of the week. I like how the storage is coming so far, I grabbed it because it was on sale but I'm glad I did now. The set even came with a couple of brooms, traffic cones, and a 'Playmate' style cooler for the crew to put their beer in.

I slapped some primer blue on the Panther and so far I think she looks ready for the regular coat. The inboard flaps are separate though the outboard ones you'd have to cut free to pose them down. The wings are also cut so they can be displayed down or folded. I went ahead and cemented mine in the deployed position. I looked though several sets of decals for the kit but since they're all pretty much the same I'm just going with the ones that came with the kit, a Navy bird with lotsa white trim.

The Judy was an interesting aircraft, it mounted the 'Jazz Music' modification with two guns mounted at a 45 degree angle so the attacker could 'park' under a bomber in the blind spot and fire up into the target's underbelly. I'm personally leaning though to the P-61 since it's been years since I built one of the Monogram classic kits, still I'm having problems making up my mind.

I'd love the see the P-70, sounds like a nice different build.
