Hi Everyone,

Tonight I did spend time on the ejection seats, but not as much as I had wanted to.  I have been fighting with Comcast about my modem not working correctly since Sunday morning and tonight it died all together.  Since this also affects my phone service, I had to get it resolved as soon as possible.  So I spent 40 minutes on my cell phone with Comcast before I finally convinced them that the modem is bad.  The modem started working again out of the blue hence the reason I am able to post this now.  The work I did get done on the ejection seats is not very noticeable so it is not work taking pictures, uploading, then posting.  Hopefully tomorrow night I will have a chance to get them finished.

Seriously BOCKS? You didn't know that the Weasels flew over the SAM sites and fired the missiles backwards to destroy their target? Where have you been? Plus it was such a warm day, the pilots wanted the canopies off since they couldn't roll down the windows!

I love watching these builds progress!! While catching up I realized I haven't posted my WIP pics on here! I posted the to the Monogram Mafia as I am doing a crossover thing. The Phantom has been sitting aside for a bit so I could catch up on some of my miriad other GB's. Here is the work I have finished thus far.

We should organize a group visit to the Air Force Museum in Dayton.  It turns out it's only a 2-3 hour drive from here I am.  And with free admission, it's something I can actually afford. lol

Sorry to keep bugging you Berny.  I am trying to finalize what loadout I am going to do with the F4E.  I saw a couple of ideas online and I wanted your opinion on them.  A few had one I liked.  370g tanks outboard, fuselage bays had sparrows, and the inboard rails had 2 Sidewinders on the left and right of each pod, and they had an ECM pod in the center lower on each rail instead of the center sidewinder.  An ALQ87 on one side and an AN/ALQ101 on the other rail.  And a big centerline tank.  I am just trying to figure out how to mount the ECM pods.  the 101 pod is easy, but my ALQ87 pod has small holes on a flat surface.  So I am not sure what to do about the rail/ALQ87 join.  I don't have adapters to put them in sparrow bays and I would rather keep the sparrow bays full of sparrows anyways.  I have rails I could scoff from one of my now defunct Monogram/Revell kits.  I also found another AN/AQ101 pod in a Testor's kit.  I also have some odds and ends in my Hasegawa weapons packs that might prove useful.  What would you recommend?

Rich, glad you got the ECM pods.  They mound directly to the inboard pylons.  An adapter is needed only if carried in the forward missile wells.

Thanks Greg, I wanted to get a 1/32 Phantom but I'd have no where to put it. This bird is a monster! The 1/48 model is almost the same size as my 1/32 Bf 109!!!

I have a question for those of you who have been to the museum before.  How handicapped accessible is it?  I can't walk for more than a few minutes at a time so I need to use a power chair for anything like a museum trip, and I just want to make sure it's easily accessible.

It is very accessible!  I took my Mom there last year and she has to use a power chair.  They have a few at the museum, but you have to get there early to get one.  But you can always bring your own!

Thanks for the info.  I do have my own.  I really have to save up for a lift  for my minivan.  We have to use a ramp and my wife hates wrangling it down the ramp lol.  That's the main reason I don't get out much anymore. LMAO

Caspar the Chihuahua -- welcome aboard, buddy! I'll update p1 right away. That's a great kit that I've wanted to do for many years. Are you going to rescribe it? Hasegawa's -B and -C models never did get the engraved treatment...

I'll have a look but I'm not one much for rescribing. My motto is simulate not replicate and as long as I can make a good looking model the details like re scribing don't interest me too much. But I am looking forward to building a Phantom, did a 1/72 as a kid.

I am not sure of what you mean on mounting the ECM pods to a rail.  The pods mounted directly to the pylon without any type of adapter or rail.  The Sidewinder launchers and missiles would be mounted on the side of the pylons, or as we called it the shoulders.  The ECM pods had suspension lugs and these lugs mounted directly to the bonb rack inside of the pylon.  You would have to use sway braces on the pylons and mount the pods to the sway braces.  Use fine wire or some sprue to simulate the suspension lugs.  You should be able to see daylight between the pod and pylon.

Okay, that's all I needed to know.  I have some sway braces from another kit I can use.  I guessed I used the wrong term for the pylon.  I assembled the pylons themselves last night.  I may paint the sidewinders and ecm pods tonight if I have time.
