Well, if nothing else, at least I'm consistent! Tonight I managed to snap the point off the outer wing leading edge on the "F", just exactly the same as the Geasel! It's even the left side, same as the first one! Perhaps I should break off the fuel dump and a few other antenna and see if I can lose a few parts while I'm at it!

Ok!  Enough ranting for tonight! I'm going to bed!

Great work, RH10! All set to update the Honour Wall, but I seem to have missed you from the Roll Call... That means I have no record of what kit and mark the model is... When did you join? Just let me know and I'll get the details sorted out.

LMAO....that spider might help chew those helmets into shape!

That adjustable visor style helmet has a fairly well defined step, the Revell molding has it as a big bump running all around the helmet from ear to ear, and it has no visible end points.

I've looked on the web for a good close up and worked it as best I can. If you look closely, you can see the stepped ridge I've attempted to cut in, just either side of the locking knob at the top.

If anyone has a good close up of that, or the rest of the helmet, please post a shot or two. Also, as I've noted from other 1/32 figures, those guys are the wrong size, about 1/35 the scale.

They are having a terrible time with that Wolf spider, and I think the little guy got eaten. So now I know what the carpet monster actually looks like....lol...

Actually it's a Huntsman Spider. LMAO...  Good point on the Revell castings. We are having issues with another Revell turkey right now.  The F4 kit that comes in the Air Aces bundle double kit box witht he MIG 21.  I got it for Marissa to use for her Blue Angels build, and after a lot of painstaking work, we discovred that this kit is one of those kits that they should have melted down the modls on.  The canopies do not fit the windows.  They leave a 1/16 or larger gap between the glass and the frames, and the cockpit sits about 1/8" or more lower than it should.  So it will not match up with the upper fuselage.  In short,  it is junk that I am now going to have to replace... Quickly...  So I'm back off to eBay.  Then I havee to hide from the Wifey, who thinks it's all my fault for getting it for her to begin with. lol

I am about to wrap up a Desert Storm F-4G in 1/48 built from the Hasegawa kit that I have been chewing on for about 3 weeks.

Along side of that I was also building an F-4E. I am going to paint the E in euro 1. I hate to admit being a rattle can painter, but I am. I am wondering about the base gray. I was going to use gunship gray. Is that right or was it something darker? Photos seem to be a tad inconclusive.

I do have one gripe on the Hasegawa F-4. I managed to mount the nose wheel bay backwards on both of them. As long as nobody looks inside at the mess I made making things work it shouldn't be a problem. So kids, pay attention to where the gear is supposed to mount before you glue that thing in there.

It's not my spider.  I found the raw image online.  Hey/  My Bunny F4 showed up today.  AND Kodak got me a replacement printhead so I can print again. lol

Yup 1/48.  That ones not going to be built anytime soon.  It took me too long to find one I could afford.  Marissa will have to wait until my next Disability payment gets here.  And yeh, Our PO has it's moments.  I love using Priority mail.  2-3 business day delivery guaranteed from anywhere in the US.  And for packages, it's not that expensive.  Without priority, it's usually 5-7 business days for stuff coming from more distant areas, but I have had stuff show up in 2 days even using regular First Class mail.

Got a kit in 13 days from Kentucky, I fell off my chair! (I missed landing my buffalo on the kit, phew!)

Hound Dog Heaven! 'cept the actual styrene needs scratch work...uhhh.....

So, F-4 scratch monster wise, I have the ducts roughly shaped, that was 6 hours of gentle persuasion, but they seem to answer to another master.....hmmmm.....bastiges, I'll continue to apply gentle persuasion.....Ghengis, where are you pal......

Yeah, I almost forgot that in less than two inches, they go from a rectangle to a circular tube. No problem, see kids doing that to their parents all the time!....lol....

First, I'm checking to see if my badge came out right.

I haven't had lots of time to work on projects, plus I'm having a little trouble getting back into another Phantom so soon after my Geasel was done. Plus, the distraction of starting the F-105G didn't help.

I did do a little photography session over the weekend, and as soon as I can get to the developers to drop off my film, I'll find out if I get a usable photo for the Honour Wall.

Approaching the half way mark on this GB, ladies and gents, we have a growing list of completions and plenty of Spooks on the slipways (sorry, wrong metaphor, but you know what I mean!) I personally have five on the bench and vow to complete one before the end of July!

Reviewing the state of play, we're cruising for 300+ pages of posts by December 31st, and if even a quarter of proposed builds see completion, we have a good squadron's worth! I would of course love to see many more reach the display case before this build folds, but that's still a long way off.

For those heading to the National Museum of the USAF, I'm sure the rest of us are with you in spirit, and hope to see some terrific photos. How about a class protrait with a Rhino? The Official F-4 Phantom II Group Build 2011 Sub-Team? We should have T-shirts, crew-caps and jacket patches...! Here's hoping the trip takes place as planned, have a great time all, and we look forward to your report of the adventure!

Good news everyone! Berny has confirmed that he is going! He will be flying up to Dayton on July 8th. By the time we travel from the airport, get some lunch, and check into the hotel, it will be too late to visit the museum. So we will plan on meeting in the main building just inside the entrance at 9:00 AM on July 9th. Here is a link to the museum's website:

Berny will be there both Saturday and Sunday. We will plan on meeting again on Sunday at the same spot and time. If you have never been to the National Museum of the USAF, it is huge. We will probably make our first stop at the F-4C which is in the Southeast Asia War exhibit in the second building. (You get there by going through the first main building.) If you visit the website, you can take a virtual tour to get acquainted with the layout.

Finally got to those photos. Can't believe how much it costs these days to develop a roll of film! Plus I only got a few photos I deem as 'acceptable'. Many were overexposed as the background was all white and messed with the exposure meter. Good thing I had some knowledge of photography and knew to bracket photos a few steps up and down! TB, can you use the first one put up on the honor wall? It's about the best I ended up with.

Plus I made a few of my earlier builds. The FB-111A fully loaded with fuel tanks for a long mission to drop a nuke on Ivan:

Beautiful work on the builds....been a while, since I checked in.  Sorry to say my RF-4C build may have been a bit too ambitious.  I tore apart the nose to super detail the camera bays...getting everything to fit has been very frustrating.  I don't want this build to see the hammer, so I put the whole project on hold to rejuvenate my perspective. 

Jimbot -- page 1 updated, congrats on pulling off a terrific build! The -G looks top stuff and hold its own with much younger kits. CONGRATS!
