Have you been caught in a time warp of some kind? Abducted by aliens perhaps?!?!?  Man, time flies when you're picking away at kits sometimes.

Nah, I just mooved on to other things and other scales. I probably should have chucked this thing out years ago, but somehow it stayed at the top of the cupboard.

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

I've just realised something scary about my HMS Amazon. When I was planning the project, I bought a book called 'Type 21', by Capt. John Lippiett, RN. I remember I had to order it in, because it was about to be published, but hadn't arrived in stores yet.

I've just check the book, it was published in 1990. High time I got on with this one.

Cheers

Tony

Great work around here guys!

It´s nice to see that the GB is still moving foward!

Azorean, I like the color shade for your SUE, like the real thing it change acorind to the light LOL

Taxtp: Great move to blow off the dust of your old model, as Vance said it´s nice to see some ships on the GB, since those were one of the determinant factors in the war. Looking foward to see your build.

cheers

OK Vance, you win.

...

Hey, I'm just giving you a hard time Tony! Wink But would certainly love to see some naval content. The fact that we may be prompting you to pull something from the "shelf of doom" is a bonus!

Wow, just noticed we're a month away from the deadline. I think I'll run through the list of "declared builders", send out some friendly reminders. I know the end has crept up on me.

OK Vance, you win.

I've dug out my Type 21 Frigate, and I think I'll complete it as HMS Antelope, which was lost during the conflict.

I do remember doing a lot of extra work to this thing, and also had some White Ensign stuff to improve it and bring its armament up to date for th Falklands.

It's still a bit dusty, and some repair work is required too. This model dates from a previous century and has been very high up on the shelf of doom since then.

Cheers

Good progress Azorean, you must be in the homestretch now. The blue on the tail looks good - custom mix???  What's the story behind the map inside the windscreen?

I used the Humbrol 45 to paint the Celeste color on the tail.

In some pictures taken during the conflict we can see the map in the windscreen of the Super Etendards and the Skyhawks. Big Smile

Stik , the Mirage is shaping up nicely, great looking cockpit.

Tony - get that type21 going, even if it is in 1/600th!  There, that's as aggressive as I get ;)

Hi all,

I've delayed building my Airfix 1/600 Type 21 Frigate, as Cyber Hobby are issuing a 1/700 one, which is my preferred scale. However, it seems that the release has been delayed, as it hasn't arrived yet, and I've just checked the vendor's website and seen a status of 'order stop'.

I'll sniff around for another subject as time is running a little short.

Cheers

Nice work stik, that pit looks great in there.

It would have been nice if they had released those decals a bit sooner. It would have made more commercial sense as well i would imagine.

Thats the problem with decal sets like these. Its unlikely people are going to build all those aircraft. I have a few sets which have 4 5 or more sets of markings, but i will only use one.

I would build several. I still have an A-4 and Super Entandard to build in 1/48. And if the markings for the Sea Harrier are better than the ones on the Sky Decal sheet that I have, I will use those too. Not to mention that at the very least I need the Grupo 8 markings for my Mirage IIIE. And there is that Harrier GR.3 in my stash as well...Hmm Yes I do hope that sheet is out and in the LHS by end of month payday...Whistling

Well, some major progress fro me today on the Mirage. First up cockpit installed and fuselage glued together...

I am leaving the ejection seat out until completion as it is just a bit too tall to shut the canopy with it in place. So the finished build will have an open canopy, but I will tack it shut in place for painting.

Then it was sand the fuselage seams, glue the radome and sand the seams there, and after a bit of shim work to raise the center sections to match the roots properly, install the wings. Then the radome was glued in place (after being filled with bird shot- just in case) and now it it taking shape as a Mirage.

I also did some work on the drop tanks and intakes, but not really worth taking a photo yet.

Great info on the Aztec set Azorean, I do not have a Facebook account so I never found out of the new sheet.

Is time to get a Facebook account, Jeremias.Big Smile

Many scale model manufactures use facebook to communicate new releases and some promote competitions to offer kits.

Time to paint the celeste y blanca.

Almost ready to put the varnish and the decals. Regarding the effect of the sea I got a product that I think will simulate better what I want. Let´s see.

Azorean

What a huge Harrier, Caspier.

Great work. Congratulations.

I hope to end my SUE diorama to start with the brand new IAI Dagger from HPM Hobbies. Is a great kit.

 bondoman:

My Neptune shipped yesterday and my Eduardo set came. If anyone wants to join in and "part out" the decal set I'm game.

I think I've lost track of what everybody is doing! bondoman, do you have extra decals to move on to a new home?? (Need to look back through & see what I've missed over the past few days...)

No but Azorean posted that comprehensive decal set ref twice. The first time when I gave my kittle history bat Neptune 212 and then now. I don't want to own the entire set, but I would near find a 212 set alone, so I would suggest we all split up a set.

The color in my view is not the more correct.  Would have to be darker and with a little touch of blue.
