 bsyamato:

nice start on the pegasus Moober Stick out tongue some other picture of it?

Good link for me Azorean , will give really the idea that this war was. Good progress on the twin otter Yes

on sue!

started to paint others parts (gears ,  exocet etc) but not in pictures

Third! third layer of white!!! i hope the four will be the good one.

For the light azure in the flag symbol i'll use colors and not decals

http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/Suer%20Etendard%20acad%2072/100_3524.jpg

using flat light blue from model master , seems to me close to the real colour Surprise .. or not?

I think the light blue is OK (celeste is the name in spanish) be aware that the sun on the rudder must be golden, NOT yellow like the other Argentinian planes.

best regards

Jere

that's right, even in italy are called celeste Smile

so i finished with the celeste color (out of some final retouch)

rudders are painted (bottom part too) and fuel tank experimented to blue-gray camo main color.

Even airbrakes and well doors ready.

some retouch needed.

See a picture of the 202 with exocet ogive painted in light blue (celeste) but think is wrong Hmm

this weekend probably complete the full sue camo and start some shading.

Bondoman nice progress. hope rain soon finish

The Pucara has it's recognition flashes on- three coats of Humbrol yellow. It's been raining all last week, so I am giving the color two weeks to dry before I mask it off for the blue and tan.

I bet that's a really nice kit! Which markings are you planning?

Not sure exactly what markings I will be using, but it is my understanding that RN Harriers during the Falklands conflict ditched the white underside for extra dark sea grey and covered the white portion of the roundel, so I will be doing that for sure.

The cockpit is done.

The propellers have a wrong disposition.

Hello gentlemen,

Research hell has subsided for the moment and I finally cracked open the Tamiya 1/48 RAF Sea Harrier. The ejection seat is a complete joke, so I am going the after market route. As for my first day of the build, here is the engine...

Bondo, i think that paint must have been OOP for a very long time. I can't find it on Hannants, and i don't have it on my paint conversion chart. I do have a stash of Humbrol paints, i will see if i have that one, but i don't think i do.

a note on the academy sue instruction, the flaps actuator fairings are signed inverted , in position and in number.

Oh ho, great link indeed! I'm going to have to try out that camo netting trick for sure.

Have to set this one aside for a bit, another group build that ends at the end of the month needs some attention...will give me some time to mull over how much more I want to spend on this puppy. Figs? Those nifty tow cables? Friuls?

This link may help with the Scimitar helmets question:

Azorean:  Great link!  Shows the Accurate Armour crew and their DPM camo to good effect!  Also, the storage of additional Rarden ammo cans around the front of the vehicle matches photos of vehicles during the campaign.  Should provide Dupes with some good ideas.  Whoever did that did an excellent job.  Thanks again for that; something else to add to the "want to build sometime" list!

bsyamato:

I have no idea if the cannon "holes" were coverded with a cap... I will ask some friends.

Too bad about the 125, i´s a fair close match, som drops of blue and you got it... I don´t know about the 144 and 77, but try to see as many pics as you can SUE paints can change with the light in the moment of th pictures, remember that is no just gray, it has a blue hue.

About the 3-A-204, yes, it´s a sinking mark, that plane participate in he atack of the Atlantic Conveyor.

If you can get som aftermarket decals, they are ot expensive and will improve your model, all th kits, from Academy, Heller, Airifx, in both scales have wrong decals LOL.

best regards

Ooooh, broken hand, Bish? Doesn't sound like much fun to me...Ick!

As for me - FINALLY got a card reader, so it looks like I'm back in the picture biz! First off, a couple of where I'm at with the Scimitar:

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t104/cycledupes/ScimitarEarly2.jpg

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t104/cycledupes/ScimitarEarly1.jpg

The second one has the fig I'd like to use with the build if it looks like he could be convincing enough for the time frame? The rest of the set:

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t104/cycledupes/CromwellBrits1.jpg

and a closeup of the character I'm shooting for:

Those of you 'in the know' - think he's a go?

Realy nice work!

Man, so many progress on some project and I still havent finish th cockpit of mine SUE LOL

Keep up the good work, you are close to finish!

best regards

Azorean, i am sure that link will be helpful, thank you. I can see what SPOOKS was on about now. Hopefully for dupes AA still have those figures.

SPOOK, yep, know the sort of thing you mean. So that would mean the crew helmets we have now were introduced sometime between 82 and 91. Thanks again for your expertise.

OK, found a picture of what the tanker helmets looked like in Falklands;  Google "British tank helmets"; on page 3, there is an advertisement for a "British tank helmet" on worthpoint.com that shows a helmet listed as from Northern Ireland/Falklands era; should give you an idea of what it looks like.  May be more hits, including an "Amplivox" helmet, which is the same.  Hope this will help out!

Bish, Helmets on Dupes' figures have a hard shell over the top and back of head; the earphone sections are made to be somewhat flexible.  The type worn in Falklands looks like our SPH-4 helo flight helmet without the visor assembly.  The shell extends over the earphone section.  Wish I had the capability to post pictures (cannot afford the equipment right now) to show this; I have several pictures of crews in Falklands with them.  Have even seen a Rapier operator at San Carlos wearing one!  Will try to find a picture on web to direct you to.   I shall return....    Also:  Azorean, Like your choice of subject ; something a bit out of the ordinary.  Would like to do one if I could find those decals; are they still available?  I am looking forward to your finished product!
