There is not an easy answer. I believe that the Argentine SUe had MB Mk 4 seats. Now, most images of those, including the ones from the Martin Baker www; show one little handle in the middle. But I could not find a cockpit photo of anArgentine 4 from that era. Currently they have MB 6 seats, which have the double handle.

Here's the current state of the Pucara.

I don't see any great pile of filler around the nose, the cockpit area must have slipped in alright after all. The more I see this a/c, the more I like it. It's actually a fairly attractive plane.

Hello, Just a quick note because I´m late to work now.

Argentinian planes had (and have) one handle on their seats, here are a couple of pics of Argentinin planes you will find useful. (once was taked during the war)

The French planes have two handles on their seats.

Well worth the $15 I spent on it, I think it's a very nice kit. If Airfix's goal with the new-tool kits is well-produced, inexpensive kits, this one will serve them well. I also picked up a Bf109G with Finnish markings, and would have the same comments. No, it's not a Tamiya/Dragon/Hasegawa kit, but very good value for the money.

I never bought dragon or tamiya kits , you know i used to spend less possibly !

On aircraft i have only 4 hasegawa, one a very old mig-25 (when builded only hasegawa produced in 1/72) two f-104 (one bought between offers at mid price ) and an old ea-6 prowler given to me as gift (in the box actually) .. 

largest parts my build are from academy and italeri 

The highest detailed kits i have are 3 recent revell moulds  (gannet, grief and phantom2)

....... on others matters , finally a computer returned on the workbench!!!! i'm in again

You know what, I officially like it. I'm not a Harrier expert of any kind, but everything looks to be correct shapes & proportions. Yes, the panel lines are deeper than I'd like, and I wish the instrument panel was raised detail instead of a decal - but how visible will it be?? (I may even use the pilot figure!! ). The decal options (and placement sheet) make me want to buy at least one more for a non-Falklands bird. It has some issues and I'm sure an expert would be able to pick out some areas to be improved.

OK, cracked open my Sea Harrier box for a few minutes last night in between sessions with another build. Assembled the ejection seat & Fan+intake trunk assembly. SO I guess I'm officially underway! I'll pick away at this in small steps as I'm finishing up my other kits.

Thank you Jeremias for the pics. Very nice and surely original. One thing I see is that the cockpit interiors, like the divider between the fore and aft seats, are much lighter than medium gray. More a light grey. And grey does not fade much.

Thanks for the tip about RLM 65- I have lots of that.

Latest discovery of the model is that the major airframe parts are very poorly coordinated. The tail is not at right angle to the wings, the nose cone halves are different sized and the wing dihedrals are different left-right.

as the guys said, those web sites address are OK

But arerocalcas is out of bussiness, the guy who own it past away last year. If you are interested in Argentinian subjets aerocalcas crries a large selection and you can still find some sets in online stores.

Condor decals are not as good in quality than the others but are more complete.

About Neomega are not as Aires but a lot cheaper. you can find several sets on ebay.

Jeremias, the kit as you know comes with the 511, 520, 549 and 568. It sounds like the 511 was tan and light green over light blue, the 520 was tan and light green over aluminum, the 549 was a unique scheme like the 511 but with more stripey shapes, and I can't find any record of the 568, but I believe it was not used in the war.

 

At first I was planning the 515 which has a strange finish of dark brown and dark green over the tan/ light green, which also exposes some aluminum!  But now I think I will do Tomba's 511.

Humbrol 121, 122 and 65 are recommended, but if you have any suggestions regarding any of these, please tell.

Also, the kit has no external stores. I don't usually put them on, as in my opinion the very brief period in which an aircraft is armed also requires all the other attentions like RBF flags etc. But I think in this case some multiple rocket launchers might work. Do you have any ideas or photos?

The 511 was shot down during the war and the remains are in the harsh enviorment of th islands, so a lot of wearing is shown in the remains, but still you can see some of the original colours.here are some pictures.

I mixed the colours for the upper cammo and I can´t reember wich humbrol and model master I mixed, I do recall use the HU 65 (actually RLM 65) for th undersides. I also left all th ontrol surfaces unpainted. (the left that prts in NMF trying to not alterate the balance).

Here is my redemption

All the planes sended to th war were painted in a hurry and no one have the same colour scheme than other. So no one can realy argue with you about the accuracy of the colours.

If you are interested I can sendyou the instruction sheet of the 1/48 Aconcagua´s Pucara. I know the guy and you can trust on the info. There you have som paint mix sugestions, and also a little about armament. Let me know ok?

Bill -- I've been interested in doing the Pucara for this GB also and your research prompted me to take another look at the bird in the North Eastern Air Museum I photographed last November. The only ID number is '22' on the nose gear bay doors, and she is in tan/green/light  blue. I have four shots and wish there has been more light in that crowded barn of a hangar...

I don't remember if I posted these pics -- and wasn't there a decision that research pics should be posted on the original teaser thread? That's where I posted the Vulcan shots from the same trip.

I like to scratch but if i can avoid this fortunately just don't see it , the piece was located between other two that hide the little tail. Today some tamiya putty work needed .

A thing noticed on the 1/72 gr3 italeri kit, is that the canopy is partially wrong: on reality when opened is joined with two air intake parts

need again to check overall fit for this feature but probably even the under frame need to be downed ... surely prefered to scratch the tail cone intead to adjust a clear parts!!

Great start on the Pucara Bondoman! I still can't believe the amount of detail in the cockpit zone. Resisting the urge to crack mine open... MUST FINISH OTHER KITS FIRST!!!

bsyamato - from what I've seen out of you before, dealing with a missing tailcone is not really a big deal! Nice to see one of the Harriers started up.

Hi there guys,

This is my first post with advances in my project.

Last week I started my Super Etendard 1/48 kit. I will use the Heller kit, plus a Neomega resin cockpit, and two aftermarket decal sets, one from Aerocalcas and on fron Condors.

So far I started to paint the cockpit, I still hav o paint the fin details and do some weathering.

The IP is actually from a Etendard IV, but I don´t feel like I want to modify it since little will be see once finished.

I made some cuts in a couple of inspection doors of avionics compartmets, I plan to do a littl scractbuild here and there.

I will post better pics in a few days, still I think it will b a slow build bcause I´m working on a Sabre too...

on the kitchen room i done some progress on the gr3

just glued some pieces toghether and modded the fit of main gear, the kit want to glue in before to close fuselage, i disagree with this and changed the housing for the gear:

kit fits good ,not perfect but good! i like this plane! The one from matchbox was one of the first kit i builded

a strange thing, i don't see the tail cone in none of sprues! i fear something like alien adduction  

So you painted the yellow and black on those handles. Thats some work.

It seems to me that the aircraft really strapped in the pilots, with a combination of gold and blue nylon belt material.

Thats looking good bondo. And shows that you don't need big scale to get a nice detailed pit. Are those seat belts and the handles on the head reast AM or from the kit. Please tell me those yellow and black handles are pre coloured.
