Owl, you have a really nice A-10 there. Great job!

Randy, that's a nice Mustang kit and builds up beautifully OOB . My only problems were the fit around belly scoop as mentioned but more so around the removable/pose-able panel on the lower chin in front of the wing.  The only other thing about the Revellogram P-51s is the lack of poseable flaps . Not really a hard fix though,and if one poses a Mustang that's sat for for very long the flaps and inner gear doors will droop.

 One of the best "candid" poses for the Mustang would be one flap and/or gear door dropping more or less than the other as they the hydraulic pressure didn't always bleed of evenly.

Owl- Outstanding Hog!!! Very cool. I really like the paint sceme.

Kermit- THAT"S the kit I was looking for. It has the decals I want. Oh well.

I've been at work so I haven't been able to work on the Tomcat. Not looking forward to fighting with that resin gun.

Nice work Vetteman, I'll have to try that thread trick myself.  I found the seams on the Revell mustangs are not bad at all--the worst one was the radiator place! Its a nice little kit. DO you have an idea of what scheme you'll be doing this mustang in?

Kermit, Im sure you will do an excellent job on the warthog, just as you always do!

myself, I worked in a dedicated fury to finish up my own Warthog. It was taking up a lot of space on the workbench, LOL! The decals, protective coat and weathering were completed, and the ordinance loaded up. I went with my own load-out than what was supplied in the kit. I have a F-15E without any bombs in the stash (WTF Revell, a mud-mover with nothing to move mud with?!)  so I decided to save the bombs for  the F15. I've seen A-10s armed with a pair of sidewinders, and wanted mine to have some as well. The missiles and their double-rail came from the spares box, and I added a pair of bombs from another kit.

in keeping with the paint scheme, the bottom of the aircraft says "US ARMY"

Yes, an A10. Of all the hardware you guys are throwing at the taliban and other bad guys i must say that the warthog is my most favorite. When i saw this box at the LHS half a year ago it was a real no brainer. Didn't think about it at all and just picked it up without even looking beyond the boxart LOL. Would be my first modern fast mover as well

Working on the B25 as we speak because i want to wrap it up so i can concentrate more on this one. I did however glue and sand the wings and started on the engine nacelles. WIPS to follow soon people

I was finally able to get back in the mancave and working today, sure was relaxing leme tell ya. Anyway I made a bit of progress on the P-51, got the wings and fuse glued together. I like to pose the control surfaces on the 51s I build and this one is no exception. I read a tip in FSM submitted by Fermis that I decided to try out, and it worked perfectly even though the tip seemed kinda, well, strange at first glance.  I cut the flaps and elevators off with sewing thread, thats right sewing thread. The cuts were very clean and straight needing a minimum of clean up and was much faster than cutting them with a hobby knife. Thanks Fermis

All these cuts only took a half hour neat huh.

I dont know if it was me or the kit but the seams arent bad on this one at all, not much clean up to be done other than on the radiator scoop. Hopefully I will get back to the bench again tomorrow

Well,... the B25 im building is in the paintbooth so that gave me the room to look at my A10... As said i previously started it and did some fuselage sanding. Looking at it again i dont think it was half bad...most of the fiddly detail hasn't been compromised.

But lets get up to speed.... The model in question is Revell of Germany's offering in 1/48th scale... Two decal options, both with mouths, both in standard two tone grey. Might deviate from that as i do like the Thunderbolt II in European camo scheme (two or three tone greens)... Not sure yet.

Oh and reading through the posts regarding this.... Yes there is a "vintage" scheme A10 in green with invasion stripes and yes there is an example of the Hog in green and grey:

Its not that the decals are hard--I just don't wanna do it!  That and the sheet has much more decals than what the instruction sheets call for (see my A-10 formation light thread).  Im about halfway through them right now, working in spurts, a little in the morning, some after lunch, etc....

ive never tasted rabbit stew, but it sounds nice , ive tried kangaroo, now that is very nice!

 

I liked the flavour of roo, but found it quite tough.

now ive never tried scratch building before or trying to detail the cockpit so dont be too harsh.

 i know the cockpit is pretty

i should of cut the strips used in the cockpit detail a bit thinner, but this is 1:72 scale.
you guys will probably come up with 1000's of things i did wrong, but how else am i going to learn?
