Little bit on the late side getting started but I thought I should post a few pics of the progress so far.  I have the interior parts done.  Engine and cockpit are mounted and the fuselage closed up.  Now it's on

to cleaning up a couple of seam issues.

I also have the holes placed in the wings for the drop tanks.  I was going to glue the wings as a unit but I see the potential for more seam work, (Which I hate) and may try something different.  I'll post more pics as progress continues.

OK, Finished up my last GB (Twin Engine Bombers) and ready to kick off the "Nick" . I think I've setteled on the 3rd Chutai - 53rd Sentai due to the colors they wore, They are Japenese Army light grey over all with green splotching, with natural metal undersides. I've never done natural metal befor and think I will try the "foil" application method. This Sentai was Home Defence and was mainly used for attacking the "Super Forts" sent to bomb the Main Lands. It will be a Nichimo 1/48 mostly otb with just a few resin additions. I will be building with a Diorama in mind and it will likely be modified slightly from the original configuration. Thanks! not able to waith more i started the Tenzan despite about 7-8 kits on the workbench!! 

I need at least a ww2 single engine on the workbench to feel better 

Cut off the wells celing ,good details but too few deep

also found good reference about the tenzan , then planned to add the belly retractable mg turret

used some kitchen aluminium baking tin foil 

improved the engine fron cover

that's all for the night

Heck yeah! Nice work there Bsyamato and looking forward to your photos Doug. Several people including Callsign Owl used the foil over on I think it was the Natural Metal II GB and it turned out great.

Jimmy: Looks good to me, I tend to ding the cockpit up a little but for a new plane it looks flawless. And I use the finger method with the putty too, dipping your finger it in a bottle of rubbing alcohol will spread it better and keep it from sticking to your finger as much.

The Nichimo kit is not bad at all, A lot better fit and detail then I expected. Its not super detailed but over all not too bad... So far just a few minor fitting problems, nothing that cant be over come.

Nice work on the engines! I am not entirely sure of the interior colour but what you've got on the instrument panel looks like it should be reasonably close.

LOL... I guess its good that my wife speaks Japanese... OK the paint... I have found very little on authentic Japanese Army colors in the area so the interior colors are Tamiya XF72 JSDF w/a few drops of olive drab to tone it down and age it a bit.I was able to find some JA Pale Grey for the main color and again will tone down some JNavy green for the motteling. Thanks guys... Looking forward to seeing some more builds too from others. Doug (RR)

Not at all... My apologies... I must have overlooked this page, I've tried ships but am not very good at them, I admire anyone who can build them. I would like to learn how to do the water properly. I've seen some beautiful "water" dios, and some that wern't so impressive. Thanks!  

These are the second and third ships i have done.  The first was the Arizona and my fourth is the Yorktown II and is still under construction.  I would love to know how to do water because I have done models almost one year exactly and only one was a dio(an f-15 being fixed up on a carrier deck).

Neat what did you use for the main water? The gel was the waves right or was that all the gel?

It's all gel.  The only reason you would use something else is if you want REALLY big seas, otherwise the gel is fine.
