Ok here are some finished pics of the Sakura

I am lucky i got this many photos because when i was moving her for some more shots an antenna broke and the rear smoke stack popped of.  She is drying in the shed now so if any one wants a specific place taken pics of just ask.

I didn't even realise the Claude was that small from the earlier pictures but that toothpick really does give some perspective on how big it is. Amazing work. 

The Sakura looks great and you gotta hate it when parts just come off or seams split after you've finished the paintwork and decals. 

LOL will take a picture with the zero to have some other plane to compare but actually is the smallest ww2 fighter i ever built only the recent ww1 biplanes i pick up are smallest than the claude

I like the third pic.  I also decided to not take any more pics because the yamato is coming along nicely.  Pics to come later.

What type of plane is that Blitz? That might just be a little over weathered.

It's a Nakajima Ki-84. I'm thinking it's too weathered on the wings in particular the control surfaces as well as the rear fuselage and tail plane. Does that sound about right?

Looks like I got some gentle sanding and some respraying to do. 

I guess depends on the look you want. Here's a pic that shows extreme weathering of planes after the Japanese surrendered. Looks pretty weathered to me.

Bsyamato: Again, great work, she looks even better outside. Got your photo posted to the roster. If you want to do another it'd be great- love to see the Tenzan.

Blitzwing: What you've got doesn't look too far off from Waikong's photo. I think I'd just push ahead and finish her as she is. If you're not happy when you're done, I'd just dial back the chipping on my next aircraft.

BTW: Pulled out my Zero and got back to work on her over the weekend, will get some photos up if I can only find my camera tripod.

As I said I got a little more done on the Zero over the weekend, she's on her feet at least!

Blitzwing as waikong posted picture shows the ki-84 looks like real one :D

Thanks for the feedback guys I really appreciate it but there is just something that doesn't look right to me so I've decided to go back and try again. Take two in a few days.

Blitzwing: I know what you mean there, sometimes I'll finish something and then everytime I look at it I'm thinking 'why did I do that?' Might as well fix it during construction to make sure everything looks right to you.

Here it is chipped paint Mk II

I did a lot less chipping on the wings and tailplanes which is what I think I didn't like about the first attempt. A bit more restrained this time which looks better to me. Got some touch ups and smaller bits of painting to do and then I can move on to the markings.

Said it before, got to love these beat up Jap birds!

Almost there now, just need to finish off the propeller and it is ready for the decals. I've dry fitted the engine and canopy here. 

The flash has really highlighted the panel lines and exhaust. Under natural light the exhausts are darker and not as orange, and the panel lines are darker.

BW: Even with the camera flash she looks great to me

Work on my Zero is almost done, only thing stopping me from finishing is seroius silvering on two decals, working on getting rid of it now

I'm not sure if I'm a bit premature but does Tamiya X22 acrylic clear go cloudy as it dries? First time I' ve used the stuff and it has gone cloudy in patches.
