Eric I had to get rid of the Elves they kept stealing my socks, but only the left ones!

Some assembly required ,thanks for the kind words. I use Model Master enamel thinned 20% with medium reducer(I use an automative brand such as Imron) pressure really depends on your technique ,the best thing to do is practice on a scrap part or plastic bottle ect.. This one I did freehand but you can mask them using poster tach putty or even silly putty which has a low grip factor so its a little hard to work with. There are several mottles in this G/B as well and are worth a look

/forums/t/132597.aspx

hope that helps,cheers Trey

Trey: Dang you're almost done! I liked the peeled paint effect you did on your other models but I love the effect here, plus great camo. IMHO this may be the best yet!

Cliff thanks, really has been a learning G/B for me, glad you like this one was'nt sure about the scheme but its growing on me.

Bsyamato thanks was fun to just fire up the a/b and get creative rather than have a rigid design to adhere to

The wheels were lacking detail so I scratched up some hubs

the decals are down and the wash dry almost ready for weathering

Well, I did put the canopy on the Judy, there is some sort of film on it now. I got disgusted and took the weekend off from modeling. I'll see about snapping some photos tomorrow and posting them Tuesday evening. I think maybe the best thing is to call her done and move on.

I had other odd problems with my P-61 for the NF GB so I've neglicted her. I did sand out some bad areas on the paint and resprayed her yesterday. I'm going to try to get the decals down this week, probably will miss the deadline though.

Just taking time, finished two GB and now concentrated for some week (till i resist to start the zero at least)

nothing much to say

cut the zero main wells (i hate few deeper wells), whishing to cut also flaps but the engineering of the wing turn this too hard

on the mary the option was simple

flaps will be replaced by evergreen stuffs

Searching on the web for mary cockpit references but found nothing Boo Hoo the kit includes some crude details for cockpit walls and pilot ip but i can confirm the correction of these details

Cliff hate to hear about the struggles with the Judy ,sometimes I have to walk away for awhile and get a fresh look at a problem. Hope it works out really looking forward to seeing your efforts and as well on the Widow.

Bsyamato man you're busting into some serious surgery on this one, way to go!

I finally got the canopy in the post today and finished up the Busa,I'll get some better pics tomorrow weather permitting.

Trey - that is one near looking Oscar! How do you do the paint chipping method? Is the salt method? How do you do it?

Thanks Red Baron, I did use the salt method for the large areas ,the smaller chips are done with a #11 blade layed flat and just using the side of the tip to remove the top layer of color.

That is going to be intense Bsyamato, really looking forward to seeing more! The sun is trying to peek out so hopefuly I'll get some better pics of the Busa today.

Trey: Oh yeah, that is one nice looking fleet of fighters! And the Hayabusa looks fantastic.

Bsyamato: Really great job there on the wheel wells, she's coming together nicely.

Well the film on the Judy isn't really a frosting like your Tomcat, hopefully won't even be visible in photos but if you look closely you can see it. I went ahead and took photos yesterday evening and will try to get them posted tonight. Other than the canopy and the sinkholes in the fusilage that I missed putting over before painting I think she turned out ok. As I said before I've got two more Suiseis in the stash, I can apply what I learned here to them. Did a little more work on the Zero too, so far she's coming along great (cross your fingers).

SAR & Jason: Sounds good guys!

BTW: The photos didn't turn out too well so I'm going to retake them. Anyway here is one of the better ones to prove that I actually did finish the Suisei:
