I did thin the paint 10% with a base reducer made by Nason

I'm not sure how authentic the mottle really is ,I could only find one artist rendering to go by so the rest is a geuss but it works for me. I'll need to go back over it and touch it up and even it a bit here and there. Next I'll start adding some decals and weathering

bsyamato:  I noticed that as well, the flash washed out the aluminum color.  And there is no other paint on the body yet! lol still waiting for my paint to come in!

Jason: Yeah! Pre-cut masks make doing the canopy so much easier! I think I'll have to go with the C6N Myrt simply because you don't see many of them built. I have to say I was a bit hesitant since I've got the 1/48th Hasegawa kit and gee you can tell she's a recon plane since she's nothing but windows! I'm almost scared to try to mask all of them.

Got a chance to do some work on my Emily. What a PITA with fit issues. Here`s a few pics...

 

Using caulk to fill gaps because of all the raised rivet detail...trying to do as little sanding as possible.

 

 

I`m hoping to get some paint on this beeotch tomorrow night. Thanks for looking.

 Got some paint on the "Emily" tonight, freehanded with my Badger 150. I`ll have much more time to play tomorrow night and am hoping to get all the painting finished and sealed by the end of the session. Will take some better pics too. Here`s a couple from tonight...

Ok I'm going to be a bit of  'rivet counter' here - sorry!  Jason's N1K2 George is a 'Shiden' - no 'n'.  The Shinden is the J7W canard.  Anyway, I used to make the same mistake until the guys over at                   J-aircraft.com straightened me out.  By the way, if you've never been there J-aircraft.com is a wealth of info concerning all aspects of Japanese aircraft.

Hmmmm.....Mayde I'll add the '1946' J7W2 jet to my GB build list.

More on the Ki-94-II, maybe tonight.

i'm just tring to panel some line on the kate, later tonight or tomorrow pics

i fitted the wheels and break the coverings ..  repaired with CA glue and repainted damaged zones

results of panel lining/washing steps

despite i exagerated whit the wash really few lines was highlighted with this step, the surface details are too little for this tecnique

let it dry for a whole day before final matt or satin coat

Is it too late to join in on this GB?  I have never been in on a GB but would really like to as long as no one objects.

 I have been building an old Swallow kit, 1/32 A6m2 for about a month now and she is almost finished. Is she eligble for your GB? When she's done I'll post some pic's.

Thanx Trey and good work on white stripes but.. how work the pin wash? dunno about this tecnique or don't know with english name.

so for now i satined the ki-27, tomorrow i'll put on some dry brush for engine smoking and glue last pieces, between two day the plane can be finished

Bsyamato thanks, the pin wash I use consist of artists oils thinned with lighter fluid . Using a fine brush I touch the panel line and the thinned paint runs into the line by capillary action. The oil base paint does'nt 'attack'  the enamel so you can wipe of the mistakes easily. I also use the oils for weathering and staining areas to simulate oil leaks.

I have couple Rufes (A6M2N type 2 float planes); this is the old Tamiya kit 61017  (1:48). I started them couple years ago for another GB. These are the kits:

Some partial assemblies, no painting: the floats

I agree with everyone else , that the camouflage finish is perfect .

As for me , I'm a little slow getting the cockpits glued in place and the fuselage halves closed up on my 1/72 Zero and Ki-84 , however i have managed to paint the parts of both support vehicles ...
