I've never tried to decant Tamiya primer but good luck spraying it, it's about the only primer I've never had build up too thick on me the same way it did for you.
DO NOT EVER DECANT TAMIYA. Just about all i have is Tamiya and i have lost several paint brushes to decanted tamiya sprays. I dont know the effect on air brushes but be warned that the paint glues the bristles on a brush together. I have decanted other paints before and they worked fine.
carsanab ..Hopefully I can get back to the bench real soon.. Carlos

Carlos
i hope with some floatie thing
Nice progress guys
i'm to 99,99999999999999% on the clade but!!! not yet finished
Frightful: Nice work, not sure about weathering, I don't think it would be very heavy though. Maybe some of the guys in the ships forum could help you out there?
Blitzwing: Looking good to me other than the rough spot there. I've never tried to decant Tamiya primer but good luck spraying it, it's about the only primer I've never had build up too thick on me the same way it did for you. Not sure if it's enamel or laquer or what. I've got one of those in my stash and was a bit duboius about the rubber caps for the landing gear too.

Primed and ready to go although this will probably be the last time I prime straight from the spray can. It's just too hard to control hence the spot on the plane's right side. is it possible to decant Tamiya's primer and spray through an airbrush? If so what do you use to clean it afterwards?
Also about my previous post about Hasegawa being on their A game for this kit... It still is, except for the landing gear. Those poly caps suck. I read about them in other forums and for some stupid reason thought "That wouldn't happen to me".... I snapped one trying to get the alignment right. Just like the guy in the article I read.

I will Blitz i will just saving them for later. The crane is rigged and i am attaching a boat to the crane.
That looks really cool although bigger pictures would help us see the model better. I would love to do a ship one day but they just seem so... massive.
Ok the fore deck is drying and some more parts attached.
Almost finshed with the Sakura but i want to weather it. Any tips on weatering destroyers?
Frightful, Bsyamato, and Blitzwing: Really nice work guys!!!
Sorry I haven't been around, I worked Memorial weekend and it's got my schedule all messed up.
Looking forward to seeing your work again when you get the time Big-Z.
Sorry i havent been able to post much but here are wip pics of the sakura (cherry blossom)
and the crane on the Yamato still got to add string though
I see theres still some really nice work going on here...I've been away from the bench but have still been checking in...my Radioactive Turtle cousin really has a winner on his hands here...keep up the fine building!!! Hopefully I can get back to the bench real soon..
The seat is now done and gone into the cockpit. I sanded the cushion on the backrest and drilled out the holes although they are a bit wonky and look a bit on the small side but the top of the seat was beginning to crack so I didn't want to risk any further damage.
I must say that Hasegawa really had their A game on when they designed this kit because putting the fuselage and wings together was totally drama free.
Canopies masked off and ready for painting. Really looking forward to adding colours and weathering this plane.
Have a good memorial day i see some picture from facebook there
bsyamato panel lines and tail wheel (sratchbuilded.. i break and lost the original) on the unlucky claude (broke and repaired one of main gears..)

If only those Japanese were a bit more practical like the Germans or Americans and just needed a number sequence eg RLM.... or FS....
Thanks for the feedback and advice guys but unfortunately I think the needle is a write off. Looking at it again this morning I noticed a crack in the nozzle so that is the end of that. Hopefully I've learnt my lesson and not decide to drop my airbrush anymore.
Yeah, Bsyamato we're just being silly.

Gamera I think he means the mammary gland, ie boobs, hooters, breasts, etc, etc, etc. I assume there is a funny term or two in Italian for them too.

Gamera Nice work as usual Bsyamato! Are you adding some weathering? She looks done to me.

i'm really in doubt about a weathering. Normally i like to whetaher my planes, but this time the claude seems look better with only panels washing. Probably will put only exhausts fumes and leave the rest clean

ops .. yes
ps what's mamory?
Blitz: Really nice work on the aotake there and the instrument panel looks great!
I was going to tell you to grab the tip with a pair of pliers and try to yank the needle out but I like Waikong's suggestion better. Some sort of lube would probably allow you to remove it with less damage. Probably not too much damage to the needle but the tip might be damaged from having the hole torn bigger than it should be and possibly out of shape.
For the cockpit I'd just put a layer or two of masking tape over the clear parts of the canopy and then putty and gingerly sand out the damaged area checking often to make sure you're not cutting though the tape mask.
