Blitz, sorry to hear about your airbrush. Have you tried putting some airbursh lubricant on and let it seep in a bit, then try turning it out with the aribrush wrench?

Now, about the '3 stuks voor 1.99 €' and the matter of the 'Frites'. This means that a local grocery store offers 3 bags of deep frozen French fries for 1.99 €. 'Frites' is French for French fries.....although 'frites' are in fact Belgian, there's nothing French about it. Over here, we call them 'frieten' in Dutch and the french speaking part of the country (yes, you guessed it) 'frites' ! Nevertheless, they are served everywhere.

3 stukas for... i have only one and again in the box  (or not referred to stukas?) LOL i use the kitchen table to put decals for better light and for the hot water ... never try to fry some undisciplined kit

Ok so I've gotten the ball rolling with my Ki-84 and assembled the cockpit, no problems there. I decided to paint the cockpit in aotake because when I originally bought the kit I was hoping the second scheme would be one with the white homeland defence bands, but unfortunately no dice. I read somewhere that the first Ki-84's had aotake cockpits and since the 22nd Sentai was the first unit to be equipped with the Frank so that was enough for me. 

I also painted the consoles semi gloss black and picked out some of the details in the cockpit in silver and red according to the instructions.  The instructions say all the lever tops are in red, is this really the case because the seat will look like it is surrounded by a lot of cherries there. 

Now to the negative........ While changing colours from aotake to black in my airbrush I, I began by removing the rear cover as usual and then dropped it. I watched it go down and saw it fall on the back of the needle so no harm done. So I thought......

It is solidly wedged inside the nozzle and resisted all attempts at removing it. Any ideas on how it can be taken out or is it a write off? Luckily my airbrush came with some other nozzles and needles of different sizes so I was able to swap the needle and nozzle and continue on with no problems apart from the paint spill...

With unpleasantries behind me I decided later on I decided I wanted to start on the canopy and begin masking it. I cut it from the sprue and a chunk of it also disappears. Fortunately it is part of the frame so hopefully some putty will be able to fix that up. 

I don't know what happenned today but hopefully that is the worst of the problems. Next is finishing off the cockpit before construction. Fingers crossed.

You're certainly welcome and btw welcome to the forum! I've set the end date to Sept 1 so we've got a little over three months yet to go. That's assuming no one wants an extended deadline. Even if you don't run over no big deal there! I'll go put you down on the front page.

Excellent looking build stoutfella!  That's a real fun kit and you won't be disappointed with the Tammy P-51 either. 

I realized now that curiously 3 of 4 kits i've involved here are with fixed gears LOL

Very nice work there Stoutfella, esp for your third kit after your return to the hobby Pity about the small parts breaking off, I've been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

Not sure what the white residue on the decals was, maybe excess glue? Glad to see it cleared up with the extra clear coat. I've gotten into a habit of replacing kit decals with aftermarket whenever possible, a little more expensive but generally worth the headache. Crazy how Tamiya and Hasegawa make some of the best kits but include some of the worst decals.

Since we're running a pretty informal GB here I'll post your model when I get a chance. And you're always welcome to do another if you'd like. Again, beautiful model and a big congrads!!!

That Claude is catchy.

Several hundred pieces and it gets montonus,  and the main deck with the gray. Lots of painting.

Bsyamato: Very nice work there! Love the bright red.

Frightful: Great, I don't know how I got along without an airbrush. To be honest sometimes I'd like to toss the thing across the room but still there's nothing better than applying a nice even coat of paint over large areas.

Hey I am not going to post alot of pics for a little while.  Painting hundreds of pieces a tenth the size of a dime by hand is tiring so i am ordering an airbrush.

Finally after silver and clear yellowish coat dry put on the masks for the hinomaru!! Already done 3 layer of thinned white as base for the hinomaru red
