Trey: Wow, you're ripping right though her. And great job on the cockpit again- nice thing about the Raiden is it does have enough glass to see all the detail you're working in there.
Big-Z: Looks great! Not sure I'd have even noticed the missing seat back - looking really good. And don't worry you're not expected to build at Trey's rate, goodness knows I'm not

Well havent been checking in too much.....been a slow build..as usual...but I do have the Oscar closed up and primed...staring to pain the white fields on the wings and fuselage for the hinos.....so while the paint dries I started my Fine Molds Ohka.....very nice little kit.....I completed the pit and closed it up too...
I added some extra fiddly bits to the cockpit....some wires on the side walls...I also scratched a seat back which for some reason doesnt come with the kit seat...I cut a piece of PE fret...added aother piece and bent it to form the back.......hats off to Fine Molds...besides that overall it has very nice detail and a great fit!!
Carlos
Looking good Trey!

I`m starting to think you don`t sleep Bro`! I built that kit a while back...nice fit. I never finished it because the lightning bolt decals fractured into a thousand pieces. Yours is looking great as usual.

Drilled out the antenae support
painted up the pilots(not my strong point)
ready for some paint!

The wing roots got the same treatment
Thanks Bsyamato appreciate the kind words. I 've got the basic fuse glued up and there are just a few small seams to deal with. The worst is at the bottom trailing edge of the wing. Heres how I deal with seams, first tape up the gap on either side and squeeze squadron putty in the seam
quickly remove the tape before the putty fully sets
then carefuly apply some acetone on the putty with a 'q'tip gently rolling the tip to smooth the putty edges
then sand with 400 dry followed by wet sand with 1000 ,then a quick rescribe of the panel lines
after that a little bead of tenax settles down the scribed lines and blends the repair, after that its just a quick buff with 1500 wet and its ready for top coat
Despite decals ip the office looks good
Gamera cannot check for autopilot hands just push the button and he automatically going off.
honestly not see the whole particular in the picture , i just find the otto autopilot, about 25 or more year not see the movie.
Actually i'm stopped with mary and zero ,want to finish one or two other kits that are about 99% finished ,then come back with the two japs!
rtoo speed makes ugly results, too relax don't make results
Bsyamato thank you kind Sir!
Cliff thanks appreciate it and now that you're rested up after vacation you should'nt need a boot in the backside lol
The office is done, very basic but nice moldings. Would have liked a real IP instead of a decal sheet but oh well.
Trey: That's fantastic! Simple paint scheme but it suits the long elegant lines of the Ki-61. And I love the in-flight photos!
, I leave for two weeks and you finish two models in the time I'm gone. I wish you could bottle that- I could use a good swift boot in the rear.
Putting up your photo on the front page and putting down the Raiden. I built one some years ago, it is a really good kit, you'll enjoy this one.
Bsyamato: Thanks, deflate him and pack him back in the trunk- just watch where he puts his hands
Anyhow painted the prop for Judy today, still need to do the bomb and the fiddly bits and cross your fingers I'll be done.
Trey terrific rondine!!! in flight pictures are so perfect that seems 3d renders!
and here comes another good jack
Gamera wellcome back, turning off the autopilot
Eric thanks you're too kind. Glad ya like the pics.
Cliff can you put me down for a Tamiya J2M3 Raiden 1/48 scale next please?
Basic kit looks good and the dry fit is promissing
I don't know what you're saying Trey, it's looks great! I love the home defense markings. Your pictures are so cool. i love the underside pic of it in the air.
Eric
Welcome back Cliff! Thanks for the kind words. I'm calling it finished, not real happy with this one ,the fit was pretty bad in a lot of areas and I could've done more to it just got frustrated and wanted it off the bench.
some retro
Guys just got back yesterday. Great time, have to admit I hated having to come back.
Trey: Magnificent! Another great model, just put the Otaki Ki-61 down and yes that is a big friggin' seam but you seem to have things in hand.
Bsyamato: Glad to see you finally got at least two of the kits you were waiting on. And yeah amazing the difference between them.
Satch: Sorry my response here is over a week late. Frankly I'm not sure if Vallejo makes Mitsubishi interior green or not but it's very close to USAAF interior green/green zinc chromate. I'm not sure anyone would be able to tell the difference if you used that colour in Vallejo.
Hercmech thanks really appreciate it!
Got busy with the filler
Nice Trey. . . If i built at your speed i might have hope of getting halfway through my stash. Good job in another gb
More progress and a few more gaps to deal with
Thanks for the great comments everyone,I'm pressing on and finding a few more fit isuues. The wing trailing edge has a large gap I think in part because the cockpit floor is also the bottom fuse under the radiator intake. I'm doing a gear up build so I had to thin down the gear doors and trim away some of the raised detail in the wells. The gear doors fit really well on this kit unlike the Tojo. The fuse halves fought me hard and are going to need some tweaking here and there but nothing major. The canopy is pretty rough but I'm going with it ,might add some character and I'm pimpin' on a budget
TREYZX10R Hey Cliff put me down for the Otaki Ki-61 Tony please. The kit is the first Otaki I've come across with such a huge gap in the wing/fuse joint. I mean its friggen HUGE! I cut some .8mm styrene to fill the gap on to the office next

Nice new pictures about the 94
My that's a large gap. Well done on the save.
Manny thanks,I'll have to have a look at Ferris he does some awesome work
Bsyamato thanks ,I like the tri color paint scheme!
Len thanks and yes it easily overdone(my zeke comes to mind) You should have those anytime they went out monday
Eric thanks and that was 5 so I'm an ace lol!
Some better pics
I've lost count, is this the 4th or 5th plane you finished Trey? Another beauty. Love the salt method on her.
Trey....Awesome work! Nice and subtle with the salt chipping, not over done...which is easy to do.
Did I tell you I have that same exact kit. Darn thing is missing the instruction sheet..................
Just kiddin`...I`m finishing up the Kikka tonight hopefully...have to decal and seal. No real weathering to do because it only flew once.
