Len WOW! That came out sweet !!! I really like how the finish came out and the antenae wire and rigging wires on the tip floats look spot on scale what did you use?

Hans von Hammer sent me some of his nose hair...just kidding...found some super thin polyesther thread at  A.C.Moore`s for the antennae...that`s gotta be the toughest thread ever...cut myself trying to break it by hand. The float rigging is 4lb fishing line. Thanks for the kind words TREY!

Emily is finished
Posted by troublemaker66 on Sunday, October 16, 2011 8:19 PM

After adding the fiddlies I took some pics. Overall, the kit wasn`t horrible but it had lots of trouble spots. It had tons of flash on all the parts and fit wasn`t all that great. If you`re patient and take your time, it can be built into a nice model. Knowing now about all the kit glitches, I`d like to build another one in the not-too-near future mainly because I`m not patient nor did I take my time with it. So, here it is .....

Well, that`s it...started masking the canopies for the "Nell" which made both my hands go numb! Gotta get away from these 1:72 kits, they`re killin` me! Feel free to use whatever picture you want for the front page Cliff. Thanks for looking!

Good work folks.

All that's needed is some AA guns to shoot those birds down. Knowing Japanese AA it probably wouldn't work but then again Japanese birds were made of firecrackers.

This is my cheerful for this group build - Fuso being the ancient name of Japan...

Hermech: love the way you're taking that bird, i'm a big fan of that scheme.

Dostacos: Wow  thats ballsy, getting the whole thing together naked like that.

Not really inspired with this one, lacking detail, bit of sanding required on the bottom - went off 1/72 some time ago

Bsyamato: You're right, I can't game too much, I get restless and have to move around which is a good excuse for modeling!

Windy and cloudy here today too, looks and feels like autumn. No rush on the photos, take them when you can.

Gamera

Trey: Wow, more great work- you're making the rest of us look bad! Stick out tongue

Just got my computer back from the shop- seems there was a short in the power supply transformer.

Good news: I'll be on-line over the weekends now.

Bad news: More PC gaming time and less model building time Sad

mmm try to get out of the gaming cage Pirate i did it and more fun on the workbench than the pc games .

Trey good progress there Yes again in flight?

Thanx for comments on exhaust, was nothing particular, i drybrushed using a tamiya standard brush the area with light brown (same of the weathering) and after in the middle of the stain i repeat the same with black Yes

nothing about the outdoors pictures Sad today wind and covered sun ... seems that summer is finished.

If don't get a good sun before next monday i'll place another indoor more effective than other pictures

Jailcop: Good to hear you're better now- if it's not infected that's a big good sign. Kick back and let 'er heal and you can jump back in when you're feeling better. Paradise

TREYZX10R

Thanks Cliff  ,glad to hear the 'puter is fixed. Not trying to make anybody look bad just keepin' ya motivated to build ,build, build! What games are you into?

Trey: I'm mostly into RPGs, used to play Dungeons and Dragons but got out of it when it seemed like half the group was always composed of 'problem' players. This year I finished off Mass Effect II, Dragon Age II and Fallout: New Vegas as well as dragging out The Elder Scrolls Morrowind and Oblivion and replaying them. Also I've been playing around with the 30 year old Wizardry I on DOSbox. And the wargame Panzer Korp.

I'll apologize ahead of time - when The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim comes out in early November I doubt I'll be getting very little modeling done while I'm indulging my fantasies about being a crazy bada@@ viking dude! Devil

Len awesome work on the Emily ,masking the yellow must have been a real pain but it looks great.

Bsyamato Wow the Nate came out sweet! Just right on the weathering and the exhaust is perfect.

Jailcop man sorry to hear about the finger, hurts just thinkin' about it.Hey If it makes ya feel any better I mangled my pinky in my motorcycle chain last xmas eve and the nerves are still damaged.

Not nuch progress been working a lot of OT lately. I did fit the gear doors in the up position.

The fit was pretty good after I sanded the inner details away, did need to trim the inboard door in the red area

Basic interior color sprayed ,next will be the details

Thanx for comment Tigerman, the kit is complete to "ALL" rivets and panels but is almost impossible to see in the pictures and  the weathering was really hard this time for these toooo little surface details

Manny,  the kit is the ICM ki-27 b version ( the kit also included all the pieces for the A version) changes between the two version are th uncovered gears and back part of the canopy

Here i get it for 13€

A version

Waikong: Already started on the cockpit, great detail and fantastic fit. Hans von Hammer would hate this kit. Only  problem I've found so far is I'm having the devil of a time sanding/filing off the injection pin marks on the inside of the flaps, which if you build them retracted of course don't show. Not Tamiya's fault- I don't know of any way to engineer the kit without putting the marks somewhere.

Bsyamato: I'll wait till tomorrow for the rest of your photos before posting anything.

Manny: It's the 1/72nd ICM kit, Bsyamato can fill you in if you have any other questions.

Bsyamato: Glad to hear your elbow is better, not much modeling you can do without your arm.

The Ki-27 looks great! Love your gunsight! It is amazing how small this plane was.

Which photo would you like on the front page or would you like to wait until you take more photos outside?

Thanx Gamera, chose yourself the picture, today the sun was really good, i'll try tomorrow to some outdoor picture (best was if i get one at the dawn with.. rising sun ) hoping in a less windy day Lightning

Jailcop, hope you have a speedy recovery.

Gamera, that's a great kit. I built it in captured US markings when it first came out, like you said, no PE needed. Can't wait to see your effort.

JailCop sorry for the wounded index , hope get soon back good. I had too some problem, no cuts here but some weather inflammation in the elbow. No good movements for two days.

NIce score Gamera Yes

well, today tried to get some under the sun pictures but the blowing wind speak not: a dangerous take-off of the ki-27 was possible, so i get some indoor picture and only one out:

BTW: going to throw this in as well. Good golly this is a nice kit, I picked up an Eduard ZOOM set for the cockpit but it doesn't really need it, so I think I'll hang on to the PE and build the kit out-of-box.

Will try to get the photos of the Suisei up soon, I've been finishing off a P-47 and mostly busy with it.
