Ouch, sorry to hear that Jailcop- it sounds painful as Censored and the treatment sounds even more painful. Hope a swift recovery to you and Bsyamato- hope this isn't turning into a jinx thread... Indifferent

was using this new chopper thing she got off qvc to cut up some lettuce.  couldnt figure out how the guard worked so went without.  got the entire head of lettuce chopped, then went for one more pass and took basically the meaty pad of my index finger off, like where your finger print is.  was lucky enough to miss bone, nail or artery but was still bleeding so badly had to go to an urgent care, and they had to numb my finger and cauterize it to stop the bleeding.  lets just say they didnt use enough numbing lol hurt something awful and still does and now have to  work two sixteen hr shifts at the jail.  sorry for poor grammar or spelling, posting from the cell phone.

Bummer - sorry to hear about the accident - X-acto knife or something bigger?

JailCop

Well guys I'm sad to say that I went and cut the tip of my index finger off today, so my progress on the Zero is going to be slowed slightly.  Sad

 Gamera:

Bsyamato & Len: Great work guys! Looking forward to the finished photos!

Jason: Sounds good, I forgot but what scale and company was the Myrt again?

Is it 1/144?

I was thinking he said 1/72nd but you're probably right Eric, I can't remember jack anymore. Dunce

You might not know Jack but you sure did remember me saying it`s 1/72 scale..lol. It`s slightly smaller than a 1/48 B-17 and it`s fuselage is almost exactly as lond as a 1/48 B-24D`s...wings are about 2 1/2 inches shorter than the B-24` though. Nice size for it`s scale.

The Suisei is painted, I need to clean up some overspray yet- if I don't get it done this weekend I'll post photos with the overspray.

Hey There!

Got the paint and decals done on the Emily...solva-set wrinkiling them up as we speak ..lol. Took forever to mask off the leading edges for the orange-yellow. Just have to finish up the props, torpedos and fiddlies. Here`s a few pics....

TREYZX10R

Bsyamato thanks, the pin wash I use consist of artists oils thinned with lighter fluid . Using a fine brush I touch the panel line and the thinned paint runs into the line by capillary action. The oil base paint does'nt 'attack'  the enamel so you can wipe of the mistakes easily. I also use the oils for weathering and staining areas to simulate oil leaks.

Jason thanks

Decals are in place next will be a final wash and some weathering

Forget about it, thanx trey, but is basically the same process i used, only i use instead of oil color the same enamels with 80-90 % thinned... but the raised details are too little for this tecnique Sad

then , i lost the original pitot tube (Bang Head) eated by the floor and replaced with some metal piece

after last retouch the ki-27 is finished !! this time don't want (and cannot) exagerate with eathering and avoid chippin to simulate an almost new plane. Just need to take decent pictures tomorrow under sunlight

the quarter dollar to give an idea of the plane real dimension

Bsyamato: Sorry, left you out yesterday- really great work there, you're pretty close to finished.

MSgt: Ok, got you down, that's a great kit, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Trey: Got your Shiden Kai down.

Doc: Wow! She looks fantastic! Love the subtle weathering you've done there. And really sharp job on the base there too! If you should decide to build another I think I can I speak for everyone that we'd love to have you jump in!

Big-Z: She's looking good so far, just keep the photos coming- I'm expecting 229 photos from you before the GB is all over Wink

Jason: Did you decide on the 'Nick' or the 'Myrt'? I don't remember which was leading in votes, I think they were fairly close weren't they?

Gamera - I think I'll start with the Shitei III Kai.

Treyz inspired me to work the Nick later on since it has a similar mottle camo. (I'm not scared to do it now LOL)    Awesome job on it!!!

Hey, great work everyone!!!

Kevin: Sorry, I'm constanty confusing the Shinden and Shiden. I thought I had it memorized and then get it backwards... Dunce Guess I should just go with 'George' (sigh)

MSgtMJ62: Sure, you're welcome to jump in, which aircraft did you want to start with?

JMart: You're welcome too, will put your Rufe down.

Doc: If your kit is almost finished I'm sorry but I'll have to rule you out., You're welcome to post your photos here if you'd like though. And if you have another kit you're welcome to jump in too.

Trey: Fantastic job!!! Of your photos is there one in particular you'd like posted on the front page? I'll go post your Shiden now (I think I got the name right)...

John: The trucks look really nice, they should look great build up.

AWESOME build Trey Bow Down

I agree with everyone else , that the camouflage finish is perfect .

As for me , I'm a little slow getting the cockpits glued in place and the fuselage halves closed up on my 1/72 Zero and Ki-84 , however i have managed to paint the parts of both support vehicles ...

Toyota Starter Truck ;

Isuzu Fuel Truck :

Tomorrow , I'll start glueing the chassie in place along with the rest of the truck pieces and I'll mask the wheel hubs to airbrush the tyres flat black/rubber .

Everyones work is really top notch Yes

                             John .

In my best Manny impersonation "I love your Tojo and want to shoot it down in flames with my Hellcat".

Very sharp, this might be your best of the lot so far. That camo is out-of-sight.

Some great work in here!

Can I still join?

I have couple Rufes (A6M2N type 2 float planes); this is the old Tamiya kit 61017  (1:48). I started them couple years ago for another GB. These are the kits:

Some partial assemblies, no painting: the floats

Some other sub-assemblies:

the bomb racks had to be fixed a bit:

The pit:

The cart:

I recon all of the above is less that 50% completion. Could I join in? cheers
