Ok I finished the Hs 129 awhile back and lo and behold my LHS had a 1/72 Bristol Blenhiem MkIV kit for two bucks. Count Me in for #2 with this one. I'll post starting pics soon.

I've been lurking more then working on my 25 pounder for quite awhile, everyone's builds are coming along really well.

For my build I am doing the Airfix 25 pounder with quad.

I'm sure for many of the very skilled modellers on here it wouldn't be a challenging build but its been just enough for me.  Building straight out of the box, also not much after market stuff for a 1/72 25 pounder.

One aspect I've changed is my intent is to display it in firing position.  OOB its intended to be in transport position so I scratch built the trays for the limber.

I've also painted up the figures in what I think resembles Canadian uniforms:

So there's where I'm at so far

Looking good so far chris. Those airfix figues always leave alot to be desired dont they? youve done a fantastic job of them though. I found a way to keep them out of my Walrus. Youll have to wait and see.

I thought about leaving them out too, but since I want the gun in action I kinda need them.  Its something that puzzled me about the kit, actually one of the several things.  They supplied the gunners in firing positions i.e. detachment commander, loaders etc, yet the instructions provided only aim for transport position with the limber doors closed and the firing platform attached to the trails.

Oh well, that's the fun about modelling, making a kit yours with your own personal spin on it.

Its strange, down here in lil ol NZ we kinda get both worlds. We can usually recognise or understand 90% of both British and US slang.

lol its only just started bro.

I made it 12 months so anyone wanting to do some of the newer more complicated kits would have an opportunity to get them finished.

Are you still working on the 190?

I sold my 1/24 Mosquito...  Huge box!  Just storing the thing was a small challenge.  Did look nice though.  I wonder if we'll see a 1/12 Spitfire?  Now that would be something, and in the true scale of 1" to 1'

The roundels look a bit crude in these pics, but not too bad in person.I'm happy with the outcome.

Nope I havent started the Focke Wulf. I went with doing the Henschel then got wrapped up in other builds. Sorry to add to your maintanance.Could you replace the FW with an Airfix 1/72 Bristol Blenheim MkIV. Im not sure if adding the belly gun turret will make it a MkIVF or not but plan on doing so.

I hear what y'all are saying about the figures. And talk about flash, almost every piece has a  big seam down the sides. The fit is suprisingly nice. I hope it goes as well with the cockpit and turret installed with glue as it does dryfit.

The top turret On the Blenheim relies on using the figure as the twin gun mount. Looks like he's got a 24x10 inch donut in his hands. Prob just scratch a post.

Looks like the original decals are toast. I was hoping to use a set from a BOB sheet but the ones supplied on that were for the Mk1 shortnose. Glad I have extras.

Nice work TD. I remember doing some F-14's at that scale when i was about 12 and my grandparents place. Lost the deck crane in the neighbours garden. Decided the planes looked good enough with just the canopys painted black and left as is lol.

Wow TD, those tiny aircraft look wonderful, are you sure they're not a bigger scale?  Truly wonderful!  Such great work, indeed.

I'm killing my Widegeon.  I used 'Micromask' to mask it in places, but it's been on for weeks, and has ruined the paintwork.  The model was getting me down, with all the problems of the floats, and poor fitting of the windshield (it's awful!).  My Godson gets another model to play with!

I hope to hit up the LHS and Michael's on Thursday or Friday, so I'm looking for some advice.

First I'm looking for the most suitable size styrene tube to make empty 25 pdr casings.  Since making the lip for the ejector is almost pointless in 1/72, I'll probably just fill in one side.  Just looking to make some spent casings.

Next question is what would be the best recommendation for paint color for these casings from Michael's, either ready to paint or a good mix. Settled for walmarts small selection and ended up with a gold which looks like garbage.

Now I'm feeling the itch for a little dio, since I have the time.
