The Tomahawk (P-40) looks like a pretty nice kit, RRB.  It’s going together well and looking good.

Great looking engine and cockpit, Casper.  The metal finish is especially effective.

Theuns, the Hurricane turned out very well.  The colors look fine on my monitor.  I’ve noticed sometimes that Airfix decals are superior to aftermarket offerings.  Is this craft representing a particular pilot?  I see some kind of personal marking below the canopy.  I have this in my stockpile, but haven't opened it yet.

I've started to add some extra piping and wiring to the engine but at this scale it's going to need a lot more.

Cheers

Wow that Pegasus is looking stunning!

The pilot of the Huri was Flt. Lt. Ian Gleed of # 87 Sqn / August 1940.

I only saw a few mistakes in the pix now (darn thaings go wrong when you get frustrated and rush a build :-(   )

I will have to adjust the flat spot on the port wheel and I seem to have forgot to clean off the wash under the stab for the rudder Embarrassed

As for the decals, they are allot better than the very thick (and incorrect colour red) of the otherwize exelent 1/72 new tool Spit 9, the only thing is that on the Huri the finflash decal was not the correct size as you might see it doesn't quite reach the hindge line ot the top of the fin. Therefore the un-neat touchup I made LOL!

A lot of great building going on here, gang!  Thanks for the inspiration; especially like the Hurricane and the Harrier.....awesome work on the engine and pit!  Hope to get to work on my Stuka this week......we shall see.  (I'm avoiding my honey do list of laying down new flooring.......wish me luck guys!)  Smile

Cockpit almost done. I think it must be the most work I've done on an office so far. I'm pretty pleased with the results.

Cheers

Exquisite cockpit, Casper.

bsyamato:  it will be really fascinating to see how your copter comes out.  You've put a great deal of work into this.

Thank you sir Toast this little copter was a good challenge and good excuse to do more heatforming practice.

Here primed, need again more cleaning on the fogged clear parts (CA used but next time will use my new contacta clear from revell) and to add some more details on the engine and the rest of the wip will be ordinary finish work

PS the wood piece in the rotor base is a toothpick.. could be show the dimension of this liitle copter, jut the new incoming 1/72 cayuse can beat him and the ka-18 as my litter kit of ever

the primer shows nome more sanding needed Hmm

Haven't got much done this week. It has been a bit of a rough week here. One of our chihuahua's, Lychie, died this week. He was very old, 16 but much loved and will be truly missed.

Got some work done on the intake doors. This is tough work but the PE fits nicely and when painted should give a very realistic look to the plane.

Cheers

PS. My avatar will be changed to honor Lychie for the time being.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Casper. Sad

To prove I have actually been building:

As you can see, I have a gap between the canopy and the fuselage. I filled it with Games Workshop 2-part putty and I have the interior portion painted. This weekend, I'll get the canopy on and the putty smoothed out with Squadron Putty. Then I can mask the cockpit and get her ready for paint.

What is it with Airfix and canopies????

Also sorry to hear about your loss, Casper.  We come to love them so much, that their passing leaves a real gap in our families.

Griffin, that's a strange problem with the Spitfire.  I built one of these for the Spitfire GB, and the problem on mine was it was too tight to fit, and I had to sand off some of the back of the canopy to get it to sit right.

Sorry for your loss Casper . Bad news are.

On the harrier intake good work but the little auxiliar intakes are really a low detail for an huge kit.

Griffi which mould is of spitfire, the new one?

Yes it's a weird kit. Some of it has good detail while important features are lacking. It's like someone decided to supersize a 1/48 kit into 1/24 or something without adding anything to compensate for the size doubling.

Cheers

I'm pretty sure it's the new one. I've got the canopy glued on now and tomorrow I'l finish filling the gap to level off some of the putty previously used.

Some more work on the Harrier. Fusing the cockpit section onto the rest of the fuselage. This is being glued only on the starboard at the moment but it's necessary to temporarily tape and hold the port side so it makes a better match. There are many gaps in this kit already Super Angry

I finally got around to posting some more WIP pics.

I preshaded it with humbrol acrylic 33 and then gave it it's coat of NMF with tamiya AS-12.

I will be painting the Invasion stripes on next, so then I can get to work on the airbrakes, landing gear etc.

My first exhaust nozzle with PE. 1 down, 3 to go. A bit fiddly but worth the effort

Got the engine fitted inside and glued the fuselage together. Quite a nasty seam underside as you can see Tongue Tied

On the verge of finishing a Henschel 129, should get me on track for digging back into my Heinkel 177 for this GB and an Argentine Pucara for the Falklands+Too Many Props GBs. (Man, I've never gone on a twin-engined binge like this before!!! Hmm)
