My own fault for not asking about it before I was hired. I can't do much in my limited time off for now. On my days off I'm doing product training and I still have half to complete within the next two weeks. That is really eating into my time.

Carl;

Wow, man, that's a real BUMMER! Crying My heart is out to you - but look on some brighter side; we saw at least a few pics of your fine panzer! Sterling memories!

Hey: darn but it's been blown up!  Too bad! Saw your "Chernobyl" pic and I started thinking  Idea I might ask you to express it to me and I would put it out in the dio categ in up-coming Lafayette,LA show for you....  I'd put it in a closed display box with a slightly-fogged front viewing window: there would be a road with an old dentist's store-front in the background... the dentist's door would be half-open... the panz would be parked in front of the dentistry... there'd be a tiny led light on inside the store, and maybe you could see this old X-ray machine therein...! Perhaps there would be this singed-looking dead fellow in a dirty white coat sprawled out on the road behind the panz and in front of the dentistry... you know, a guy with burnt bubbly face, etc....!Stick out tongue

If there was some sort of title needed, maybe it could read something like... "Und Herr Leutnant Schultz suffered yet another tooth-ache - fortune smiled on him as there turned out to be a dentist in this town..."

Sorry to see the panz went down. It was SWEET and now you can do another one.... AND go with a better kit!

Cheers! BobToast

Bob, wow , thats deep man ! So did  Leutnant Schultz  get blown up in the Pz.1 or is he under anesthesia and still sitting in the dentist chair ? Too bad the dentist went outside for a smoke and got blown up .............Hmm

Actually I was thinking she looked a little like those Japanese tanks did after Godzilla did a number on them Indifferent

Bill: looking forward to seeing how you mask the inside of the turret for spraying w/o breaking all those little detail parts you added. I'd have more PE stuck to the tape when I finished than the model Confused

Got a "WHATZIT" question.  Thso pic is from thje PE sheet since the parts in question are clearer.

What are the those things? Tamiya sheet says they are optional.  I've look and a lot of pics and they don't seem to be on the vehicles.  What color would they be of they are on there?  Camo?

Actually, I was thinking that the bitty tank looked like it had been zapped by some serious heat-ray or something (OK, it DID get zapped by a heat-ray... of sorts!) - so I was thinking here was this odd village dentist with this super-dooper X-ray machine gone wild... and the panz got zapped - as did Herr Doktor - the dentist!  a bit sci-fi-ish! You know - sorta in the spirit of these times (Hallowe'en)Alien

Carl- Oh man!  Sorry I didn't see this earlier as you know I was busy in Utah but I am back home now.  I have to say your little Panzer was one of best looking Panzer I.  I will drink a Beer tonight if it helps...

Bill- Always looking good especially the interior. Yes

Marc- Looking real good especially with the PE upgrades.  Thank you for making this harder because I want to build a Char too. LOL

Eric- Having a new job can be challenging but hope you really like your job because everybody has been looking for a job out there.  Hang in there!  You know I will probably be the last person to jump in your GB so by that time you will have more time off to keep me company. Big Smile

Here's the Potez 540 as it stands. This kit is maybe two steps up from a scratchbuild, but I will prevail!

I've investigated every combination of sequences for pod/strut/ wing and finally decided to get everything on and make the struts work last.

In the hunt for nice 1/72 MAC 1934 machine guns...

Thanks guys for the comments and support as the Super Kit moves into the paint phase!

Gamera, masking will have to be given careful consideration, no question about it. Fortunately there's good access from below, so I should be able to protect stuff with strategic use of masking tape and toothpicks.

Eric, I feel your pain. My MBA is in full swing and the time commitment for it is understandably high...lots of reading, research, and writing so not much time for now to get to the bench. It's going to show in a slower pace from here on out I think. Don't pressure yourself to build right now...you've got bigger things to worry about! Wink

Bill the Mk. IV is coming along well.

Marc nice PE work.

Hope to get something up during the week.

ERIC - Once you get past the training phase things may become easier and possibly you may get a little more time for yourself.  I am glad you found something but I hope after a while you can enjoy things also.  Just take your time with things and find your routine, we all will still be here Smile

MARC, TREAD - Every 6 hours for track lube!!  That seems excessive!  Doest seem the crew would be able to use the Char effectively with the frequency of this maintains.

BONDOMAN - Looking good.  The 540 is an interesting looking aircraft.  She really shows her age compared to the other air powers of the world for the time.

This isn't a dio GB so hope ya ll don't mind me putting this in here but how can we have a Blitz without a little French soil?

Think it may need some dark washes?

That's sweet Rob. I too have no answer for the base. However, my Western European MiG pigments look more red.

Rob,

Nice work on the base, coming along nicely...looks like a beautiful May day in the French countryside! Wink Can't offer any suggestions on the dirt/soil question, but maybe if you Google northern France for pics you might get some insight that way?

Rob , i did a Google Earth Satelite on areas of Northern France that the Germans would have traveled over durring their Blitz .I looked at the plowed soil in the farm land and it looks to be a light gray /light tan color . I know this may not be completely accurate . Yes

ERIC, WBILL - Thanks, glad y'all like it.  Went to Google and from what I found, the soil was mostly a light tan color similar to what I have.  Found only a few pictures with a darker red tint.  The western European pigment may be correct for some areas but seems to be more specific to certain locations.

CARL - If it looks good to you....might go with that?  Thanks for googling, you beat me to it.  Your question is what I was thinking - What was the vegetation like on the coast?  I'll hope for the best and will go see if I can find something.

JC - OH NO Crying  That's whats wrong with asking questions, you get answers - LOLSmile  Thanks for the vegetation correction.  I do hope it will work for something closer to the coast otherwise not sure what I will do?  Really wont be able to take or change out the veggie without ruining the whole base.  The only alternative would be to build a new base.  This was suppose to be some grass and scrub brush just something to give some color.  I had goggled the color for the area in May but did not pay much attention to the type of bush Dunce

Leaving the base along for a while, went back to work on the Somua.  Added some stowage to the luggage rack.  Still needs some final painting.

The other bad news is, cant get my airbrush to work at all Bang Head  Belive the seal is letting paint leak behind it.  This has been going on for a while now.  Time to get a new brush and soon!

CARL - Thanks buddy.  Putting the last touches on the luggage now.  Still havent looked at coastle pictures yet for the dio but I'm leaning heavely to calling it a coastle scene.  Will go on a little later and research where there was some Somua fighting near the coast.

Your Pz Disaster signature is motivating me to have an A.B. Disaster signature Devil

MODELER #1 - It's an AZTEK.  Believe paint is going past the seal mainly because the trigger sticks when left alone for a while.  At first it started spitting paint and then it would have spells of no paint and now nothing!  Now sometimes can not even get a good flow of air.  The compressor is new and has enough horses for a big spray gun.  Fittings, trap, hoses, tips or AB all new and in good shape.

I do have a back up AB but its not all that good for models.  Its a Badger CRESCENDO 175.  I had this one for other kinds of projects around the house which it works well for.  Anyway it works good with the compressor and other gear.

The most fustrating thing to me with the AZTEK is that you cant take it apart to see whats going on with it.  Might just take it apart tonight anyway Angry
