I'd like to see this one come to life. Count me in. I've just finished Rommel's 'Greif' but I'm sure there is something else out there.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

If you want to get a big buzz, start advertising it in all relevant forums. Modify this thread with appropriate dates and add a link from the other forums so they can see this.

Yes I am but...I'm currently working on a North Africa theme diorama with one kit complete, one about 60% done, figures about 40% done (no paint) and no base started. I'm aware that this may be too far along but if not I'll be glad to join up if you'll have me.

Oh I might. It depends on date and whether I don't burn out on my current project which is same theatre.

I'm currently reading a great book, Army at Dawn by Rick Atkinson.  It's got me thinking about building a Tunisian Campaign Sherman.  Anyone interested in a North Africa GB?

It would cover everything from the Italian openers to the surrender in Tunisia.  Air, ground, sea, anything you can think of.

Any body interested?

If cross-overs are allowed, I'm in with a Monogram B-25J....

What is the consensus on start date and duration?  Mussolini declared the Italian East African Empire on 9 May 1936.  That sounds like a good start date.  The German final surrender in Tunisia was on 13 May of 1943.  Sometimes a year is too long for a GB, but with enough participation it can keep going.

Crossovers will be fine; I like to build subjects that fit many GBs.  Any subject that participated in the war in North Africa.  Any other suggestions?

Definitely interested as North Africa is my most favourite theater of WW2.  Joining in will be dependent on start date and possible crossover.

Jack

Depending on when you start and if you allow cross overs, Im building the Academy P-40 Tomahawk IIb "Aces of Africa Front" for the P-40 GB that starts in June I think.

For those on the fence, check out this link.  A treasure trove of Life Magazine color photos of the Tunisian Campaign.

I've got more than a few in the stash that would fit nicely into this GB. You can count me in.

Satch:

First off; That is the first in a great series of books! When you are done with that read the next one on the Italian Campaign, "Day of Battle." Now for the bad part! It has been several years in waiting for the final volume in this Trilogy, The War in Europe. He is a great author and covers the subject matter better than any I have had the pleasure to read.

As far as the GB is concern I would be in. I have several subjects that fall into this Genre. More than likely it would be an A-36A Apache in 1/72 scale or a P-51A in 1/72. I will keep checking back, hopefully you will get more responses.
