Nothing like a cup of coffee and some enamel paint in the morning!!! (No, not in the same cup...)

Nice work Vance! Frankly I've been stalled due to not having a detail airbrush to pre-shade the underside. It kept bubbling the paint in the colour cup and not spraying. Found a tip this morning that apparently the nozzle wasn't airtight and to put Chapstick on the threads to seal it. Worked like a charm and the underside paint is now laid down and masked.

Hate to say this, guys, but it looks like I may have to back out of this one.  The LHS wasn't able to get a kit in, and the only one I have in the stash needs replacement decals, so unless there's a miracle that leaves enough time to get something together quickly I won't be able to make the deadline.

If something does work out by year's end, I'll definitely try to get the plane done in time ( the 48 Hour GB has given me some practice in strategizing ).

Hey, that's what I was SUPPOSED to get from the hobby store while I was in Oregon! But it never came in, so I had to order something else, which delayed my entry, so I started on the Amiot instead, now the GB deadline is here.....

When are you planning to build it BSY ? I have the Hasegawa version to do for this GB too. It would be fun to do them at about the same time, if Vance is kind enough to keep this going for a bit longer.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Sub pieces to me seems enough :) just out the missiles and other weapons as hasegawa uses .

Taxtp i'm waithing for the Vance reply, even if i'll build the draken  near OOB it's impossible to finish before end of year, i use enamels that need more time than acrilics to dry :)

thinkin to do one of swedish version,  but not yet decided while :(

Bsyamato - sorry, just getting back from vacation - yes, we'll extend the date to get you in. I still need to finish my little Gripen as well.

Vance: I'm still in too, though I'm lazy and making slow progress. I sprayed the paint for the first coat of the multi-colour camo last week and started masking this weekend but got burnt out on cutting and sticking all the little pieces of tape on her. Really need to get back underway.

mmh... some tape  problems there Hmm  claws don't helps Smile

then, introducing the Draken withouth claws

finely (too finely for brushes)  engraved kit is

a quick dryfit

Starting with the tail, added details with stretched sprues and refined exhaust

Some thinning of the front upper area of tail, this will form two air intakes at the vertical rudder basement

Original seat and a new ip Whistling

some cut on the original cockpit tub, shaven original rudder pedals, cloche basement and lateral ip. Used original ip as support of new one

Main gear wells smashed, wrong dept ,and added new walls  Sad

At the next!

Bsyamato - starting the Draken!! Love it, can't wait to see that one built up with your usual additions!

Been too busy to even THINK about my Gripen, hoping for a little down-time this weekend though.

Sigh... Well I did get the P-47N and the A-20 finished. Now I'm trying to finish off a P-47D and P-51D and cross your fingers I'll be able to start on the Viggen in earnest then...

Probably worse, I'm trying to break myself of my habit of when something goes wrong I box the thing and start another model... I must have about thirty or so in various stages of construction. Sad
