Thanx Cliff :) hope to post soon more progress of draken too .. too hot here, summer arrived suddenly
rtoo speed makes ugly results, too relax don't make results
..then, this night painted the first dark camo grey layer (previously i did the light grey) and take pictures :)
No specific colors, i mixed the white with two differents grey tones
Also painted other minor details but no pics
bsyamato - you're in the home stretch now!
On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister
... draken again in the same position from last post i think is time to paint the last upper grey layer.. or not?
It's always that last 10% of finishing that seems to slow things down, isn't it?! I've lost track of how may kits I get so near to the finish line, and then slow down to a crawl. :(
normally thrue.. but not yet finished all the needed scratcbuild for this plane. Wells again to detail
this night will mix some paint
Vance: I've come up with the 90/10 rule.
Takes me 10% of the build time to get to 90% completion.
Then takes me 90% of the build time to finish the remaining 10%.
Bsyamato: Looks good!!!
I've got the decals on mine, I'll post a pic tonight. Good rule Cliff, it's right for me too. Think I've got 4 kits in that phase at the moment.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Photos with decals:
Love that yellow & black Draken!!!! I suspect that stands out quite well on the display case??
It holds it's own with the racing cars that I also build Vance :)
Wow, looks great!!!
Thanks Cliff. Here we go now, all done. I hope you like it.
That Draken Is looking awesome, Tony!
Yeah Tony, that is beautiful work!
The bull got wings
Tony that Draken is stunning! I actually saw that kit in a LHS the other day and almost grabbed it... until I saw the price tag! Oh well.
And I agree with the 90/10 rule. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I hate painting and weathering.

...Speaking of painting...
After far too long, I finally got the first section of paint done on my Saab. Unfortunately, after so long, my airbrush and I don't seem to be getting along very well. Oh well, we'll see how it turns out!
Thanks for the positive comments guys. The Draken is now one of my favorite aeroplanes.
Sub - did you finally tame that airbrush?
Um thanks for bringing this up- my Viggen is still sitting there, half masked - staring at me saying 'get off your lazy butt and finish me slob...'
lol, Gamera!!! If I can mask a 1/72 Flanker, you can mask that Viggen! Finish it up buddy!!!!
Yes, Vance- but now I think the kit hates me...
This Halloween it's going to come to life and lunge for my throat.....
It does have some crazy, sharp edges...
~BUMP!~
In celebration of the completion of my Saab JAS39 Gripen, which I had hoped to slip into this group build:

LOL! great build Vance i see others pictures too!!
... between others i have a draken to finish
She looks great Vance! I like the pre-shading there on the grey. Looking forward to seeing her from some more angles.
Thanks guys! Gamera... pre-shading... nope, spray-bombed the whole thing, a little panel line wash, Tamiya weathering pastels along the edges of the panels!
It looks great Vance, I love the shape of the thing too. If I had the bandwidth, I'd go again on this GB, but its a few months before I can squeeze one in.
