Still time to get in on the group build? The Wife got me Dragon's Königstiger "Battle of the Bulge" kit for my birthday. Should be able to get it done in time for the end of the GB.

Hey Shawker - I asked a couple of weeks ago regarding DAK colors on Kitty - found numerous b/w photos which show 2 / 3 tone camo - I'm using the Bison Decal set for Early Tigers in N. Africa - using a two tone - photos enclosed below - note second attempt - didn't like the green tone so we re-did .... Armor86

It's Cyberhobby's #6650 Tiger 1 Feb. 1944. It was expensive, you might think about a Tammy or Dragon instead as I didn't see what made it worth the asking price. I managed to snag it for 50% off and still paid about 45 bucks for it.

Mark -- no worries, this is a superb job of work! The figures are quite literally telling a story, it's time for this beast to get active! I must do a Tiger I in zim one of these days, and I hope it comes out as good as this. Which kit is it, BTW?

Cheers, M/TB379

OK let's see if this works better today

Hopefully they'll all make it this time. Figures are MiniArt, zimmerit is from Atak, and the trees are from Sterling Models. Camo striping was freehanded with an airbrush, overall pinwash with a diluted mist of dark yellow applied. Some pigment found at the local railroad shop was applied for a light to medium coat of dust, no mud this time. The model itself had some fit/assembly issues but overall went together pretty well. Thanks for lookin

Mark

Picture a man,  sitting at something once called a computer., a contrivance of a time gone by.  Light flashes on a screen and images of old and battle scarred machines appear and he sees himself holding one in his hand.  At the sign post up ahead... The Twilight Zone.

WOW that's kind of how I felt.  been I while since checking in and see that this just rolling along like a ... we...a tank!  New completion for the gowning list at the front of the thread.  Md, Carl, P-Bro Dave, Reserve .. nice boys... real nice.

Cant remember where or who asked it but according to Afrika-Korps the Tiger I could have a dual and tri-color pattern.  Not widely used as all tanks whether grau or gelb they all ended up with a dusty gelb color.  will have some pics soon of the finished kitty added green to the camo and I am currently making and painting stuff to put on top of the kitty.

Sarge.

Hey Carl, nice to see ya over in this GB again. The Jagdtiger looks awesome. I watched it come together over at MSC. I'm always impressed with your builds. Painting/weathering is superb. BeerYes

Not a whole lot done in the last week, but some progress.

Switched up the close defense weapon, really just for the heck of it. Maybe just because I was playing around with the soldering and I thought it looked kinda cool. I fixed the right rear cleaning rod stowage bracket, put together the fire extinguisher and got the side skirts sorted. Once I get the tool clasps on, I think she'll be ready for some paint... finally. Surprise Not positive of the scheme yet... Maybe Wiking around Kovel (June 1944)? That might be too similar to the last one though.

Almost there! I'm redoing the spares, because I was most definitely not happy with them. Got the cables on. Not really happy with them either. Grrr.......

Very long running GB thread Eric . Congratulations on having it last this long .

I finished the DML  Porsche JagdTiger. I used Friul tracks and an RB barrel . It was painted with Tamiya paints . I did a little chipping using the hairspray method . The weathering that I did with artist oils andMig pigments hides most of the chipping .

The theme of this build is a JagdTiger that has been abandoned and a passing allied tank has used it for target practice .

Thanks guys. Dupes don't sweat the tools too much. Maybe she just got hosed off?  And my 2 cents on the extinguisher. One I posted a pic way back with suggested colors. Two these guys would get beat up for about a thousand miles then get pulled from the line get stripped and get fully maintained. Then go back to supply and draw tools from whatever stock was at hand. So variations are numerous. Also your eyes don't pick up red at long distances .  That's why we put the red filter on our flashlights.

So. Getting to this beast. Ill admit its super nice so far but everything feels so big and clunky. All the details are razor sharp, but there has been flash on everything so far. Should have pics of the first steps soon.

Tiger man. Those pics are as good as I can get. Until I get enough saved to upgrade to a camera from my cell it's hit or miss.
