Dave, that is looking sweet. As for the idler wheels and sprockets, yep, your not alone there.

Dave: That's a beautiful base coat there, a solid foundation to build on. Just more proof it's not the model - it's the modeler, great job beating that old classic kit into shape.
Dan: Ohhhhhh, those Friels give me the willies- but they look so good when they're done.

Dave and Dan , I'm liking your builds guys .
Thanks, fellas! Always appreciate the comments.
Eric - yep, used a circle template. Cleanup will follow.
Dan - those Friuls will be totally worth it.

MMMMMM Fruils. I hadn't realised how much I was missing them.
Armor those Fruils look good .
Well, it appears the warmer weather is taking a toll on the GB updates...
I managed to get the camo down on my Panther. It is supposed to reflect what a Wiking Panther in the Warsaw area 1944 would be like. (It isn't totally representative of the real 822, but I'm not gonna sweat it.)
Turret number stencil:
Turret numbers are a touch thick, but I think passable.
Let the weathering begin!
Dave: Looks good! I've seen people use stencils like that for stuff like American stars but I always make a mess with them- good work!
Looking superb Dave !
Nice camo Dave. The stencils came out looking good.
Eric
Dave-I have to agree with the group-numbers look good-looking forward to seeing what you do with the weathering.
Bob
Thanks, guys. Looking forward to the weathering myself. Hope to get some bench time this weekend... have a lot planned though.
Slowly working on the Turret to the Tiger. There are a lot more parts on this Tiggy then I thought. Hope to get my Cavalier zimmerit applied soon.
Sounds good Eric .
Hi guys -- all things come to him who waits, and I just found the missing sprues from my King Tiger, with the retaining caps all painted on them! Phew -- now I can finish that beast!

Glad to hear the good news Mike.
A couple of photos of the mostly completed turret (need to add the periscopes) showing off the Cavalier zimmerit. I have a little cleanup to do.
Wow ! That looks perfect Eric . Defintely the way to go when doing zim .
It's great stuff Carl. Just need to do some trimming on occasion.
Mike: Good to see you found 'em! Always a celebration when the long lost *BLEEPING* missing part finally *BLEEPING* shows *BLEEPING* up!
Eric: Looks good! A lot cleaner than putty and a razor saw!
Eric-looks like you're off to a great start.
Thanks. Don't know if I'll finish before the deadline, but it will be fun trying. Hope to hit a new GB in the fall, whether it's mine or someone elses.
Eric -- LOVE that Cavalier zim, it just looks so good!
Gamera -- you are SOOO right! Finally I can pick up this project and get it done... Phew!
M/TB379
Eric, that zim really does look good.
I too still hope to join you at the finish line with my 1/48 Tiger, but that project has been shelved briefly as an another GB I'm in has taken over, but is due at the end of July.
regards,
Jack
