That's a nice pallet of schemes Joe. If i stick with the Tiger, I'll have to consider them.

Hey guys,

4 weeks to go - ideal! I'm just getting stuck into Tamiya's newer French Campaign Panzer II and a month or so is all I need to make her complete Cool

I've had a slight change of heart regarding my Steel Cats GB build.

I've let TM know of course and he's kindly altered the front page. I was initially going to build the big Dragon Henschel Jagdtiger but after my extremely enjoyable Dragon Initial Tiger I build I'll now be building the Dragon Tiger I Ausf E (6383) to sit next to my Early Tiger.

Of course I'll also be using Friuls and an aftermarket RB barrel Cool

I'm looking foward to starting this one - I've read through the thread and it's going to one good GB!

What I'm building now:

Many thanks,

Ben Yes

Indeed, I too am getting a bit antsy but, the wait is serving me well as I am still trying to get my P-47 done. Also, in the meanwhile I am ramping up on my research on the Tiger I Middie and generally studying up on my build. Today, I took the time to actually crack open the Big Ed set to see what was ahead of me and was struck by the reality of the scope of what I just got myself into. Now, I've tackled a few PE sets on aircraft but I'm not sure I was perpared for the scope that the Big Ed set provides. Yowza. In addition, I just ordered this Bison decal sheet as it has some very nice options for the Mid Prod.

Not sure which one I'll build yet.

Bugger, i wish i had had that decal set when i did my Tamiya Mid. I did 131, but the Tamiya kit has red numbers i think, so i had to paint the green insides. Some great looking options there.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Just saw the Dark Night Rises with Ann Hathaway. I didn't think anyone could replace Julie Newmar, but Ann was hot.

Thanks Carl. I have a city route for now, so in a sense it's safer,  except when I visit the hood.

I'm working on a Tamiya OIF Abrams to pass the time till this build starts. Finished a 1/72 M60 about a month ago and this thing is a monster compared to it. Tried finishing a couple of cars I've had going for a while but am just not into it. I'm itching to tear into the Tiger.

Been looking at AM parts for the Tiger and am having great visions. Fighting hard not to go off the deep end though. Just keep telling myself to close the hatches and forget they even have an interior. Whistling

4 weeks seems like forever right now seeing how I am itching to build the Jagdtiger LOL

I hear you! I need something to decompress on and building a model is perfect. Patience my friend; it will be here soon enough.

Day off!

I need to crack open my Jagdpanther and see if I'd rather do that kit instead. The Tiger looks busy and I just don't know if time will allow it.

About 4 weeks to go until kickoff.

Lol! I was thinking it's more like a 'Fake Cat' than a 'Big Cat'.

The theme for our IPMS show next year is 'nose-art'. I've  already got into some discussion if the tiger face on a Korean War M46 qualifies as 'nose-art' or not!

but now have another set on order to replace these.

DBoger, the tracks you choose for that kit depend on the decals that you choose.

The whitewashed option needs the usual Late tracks, but for the time when Carius owned the tank, it seems that Early tracks are correct.

bufflehead,

Like I said I had bought all that 2 years ago to do a diorama. Since this group build will be mostly in the winter months this will give me the time and another reason to get busy and get it built.

It's going to be a lot of work I have never build a PE turret stowage before so we'll see how that goes. The reason for the PE storage is I want to do battle damange to it in a way the real one would have.

I found a CMK barrel, grabbed it up. Still looking at research, but pretty much settled on one of the T2s rousted out to defend the Henschel factory. That way I can use my late tracks and no zimm.

Interestingly enough, the CMK two-piece barrel came with a Porsche-type mantlet, and the one-piece barrel had a Henschel mantlet in the package. Isn't that backwards? I wanted the barrel more than the mantlet anyway and bought the two-piece, Porsche combination, so no biggie, but I thought it odd....

wow, that looks really nice KC!!  You went all out with the AM goodies!

Eric - I'll let you know my official entry by the start date.  I'm still set on 1/72 scale; aiming to do a Dragon quad build. Surprise   Just trying to find the kits; hard to find online  I'm going to be in Los Angeles next week and definitely stopping by Brookhurst Hobbies in Garden Grove.  Hopefully they'll have the kits I want.

Mind if I join in this?

I've already got everything I need for the model and I had planed on starting it 2 years ago but stuff kept getting in the way. One thing. Later down the road I plan to turn this into a diorama, is that allowed here?

I have a Dragon Tiger I late model 6406 with Eduard Zimmerit, Friulmodel tracks, Voyager Model PE set, Aber Turret Storage Bin, Armorscale 88mm gun barrel and Bison Decals.
