Hey Rigid your comments about Arii kits make good sense!
I'm not sure about the accuracy but its not a bad little kit, nice hard plastic and detail looks ok. I've almost finished the assembly, fits together like a dream, ready for pre shading now. A little bit of flash on one two parts easily cleaned up , some sink marks inside the cockpit never to be seen. The cockpit detail scrubbed up quite nicely after dry brushing but except for IP panel will also never be seen, the seat has moulded belts which will do for me.
The instruction sheet is predominantly Japanese with limited English, no idea what colour references are - used my Hasa instruction sheets to get an idea. One question to the members here - instructions show a decal location on the armour shield(?) behind the seat - the only one I can see on the decal sheet is a red one with three lines of nonsensical print, it seems disproportionately large. Can't see one on any of my other kits, is there supposed to be one ?
The decals are a bit off colour so may have to source some more or paint my own?
The major disappointment is the canopy and windshield, very thick and marked, not very clear.Have started work with micro mesh, hopefully will clear up? Might attempt to make my own otherwise, or any AM suggestions welcome?
It was not my intention to do any AM parts here but will see how it goes? It was in the stash and my thinking is it will never be built if I start the better kits first, hence the dual build and will be able to draw my own conclusions this way - took some pics earlier, will post these tomorrow
