Nice badge idea, Blueline.  It's appropriate.  I like it.  Maybe just add the year(s) of the build to the right of the magnifying glass?

eatthis:  There is or was a 1/72 carrier on display at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. done a number of years ago.  And there is this, apparently built by the same folks.

Added some text to the two pics posted as badge options. I am never sure what font to go for, so see what you think.

I would like to join this GB, but I haven't decided on a subject quite yet. I have an Academy P-47D Razorback in my nascent stash, but may use this as an opportunity to grab something new.

I like both badge options but if I had to choose one it would be the second one. The curious gentlemen peering intently thru the mag. glass seems lend to the  conveyance of this GB.

Oh yeah,

This what I will be building

Nice work on both the badges!  I prefer the first, since not everyone is building an aircraft.

I just finished designing a show cubboard for my living room. I'm afraid I have to redesign it...

I love that ship. How long it must be, in 1:72 scale!

So....I planned on having some pics of the Yak with the at least the bottom half airbrushed.  Being the new guy in the A/B world, everything that could go wrong DID!  I'm actually laughing about this and thought I'd share with everyone......you'll get a good laugh!

Got the paint from Squadron this week and couldn't wait to A/B it this weekend.  Finally got some time and went down to paint.  Got the paints out and you know what?  I am having the hardest time getting paint colors I want.  I ordered Tamiya's Medium Blue for the bottom of the Yak (decided to go with the blueish bottom and some type of camo on top).  Well, the Med Blue is no where near what I need.  I also ordered Sea Blue for the top part of a 1/48 Wildcat I'm doing.  No good there either...WAY too dark.  The Medium blue looks closer to what I want for the Wildcat than for the Yak and the Sea Blue is too dark for anything I'm doing right now.  Angry So, I decide to mix my own paints for the Yak.  I read in one of the other posts about acrylics you can mix all brands and do some really cool stuff to get your own colors.  Cool, I'll try almost anything once, so I grab a bottle and start adding white to the Medium blue..no not quite right, I add a drop or 2 of green (the Russian color looks to have a slight green tint to me), getting closer, a little more white..That's it!  Man, this stuff is thick!  Add a little Windex (I read on another post to use windex or windshield wiper fluid and the blue tint doesn't effect the color) and it didn't!  Great!  I pour some into the Aztec cup, put the lid on and start the compressor.  I'VE MENTIONED IN THE PAST MY COMPRESSOR IS VERY LOUD!!!  I START TO SPRAY AND I START TO SEE THESE LITTLE CIRCLES START TO FORM!  NOW WHAT?  MOISTURE, IT HAS TO BE MOISTURE!  MY COMPRESSOR IS 20+ YEARS OLD, WAS GIVEN TO ME BY MY BEST FRIEND AT EGLIN AFB, AND HAS NO MOISTURE TRAP OR REGULATOR.  SO I DECIDE TO CLEAN UP AND LOOK FOR A MOISTURE TRAP ON-LINE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN......... silence.  I hear my 2 year old son yelling in the distance and my 9 year old daughter playing Wii.  I shouldn't hear anything but my compressor!!!!!!!!!!!  Yep, she died.....just like that, one minute she is yelling her head off and the next, it goes to compressor heaven!  My head hangs low and I wonder what else could go wrong.....and I realize, I have not cleaned my A/B!!!!!!  It just got worse!  So, I cleaned it the best I could with almost my whole bottle of Windex.  I'm letting the Aztec tip soak in Windex since I can't get inside to clean it.

All that to say....no pics right now! Embarrassed  I might grab my brushes and just do it the old school way.  Being 1/72,it shouldn't be too bad....could it? Huh?

I take my aztec nozzles apart all the time to clean them. I use q-tips and thinner.

Hey checkmate, yeah, it was scary and now I'm wondering if I should not be leaving my tip in the Windex.  Was going to go get a can of propel yesterday, but everything was close for Easter.  Maybe today.  Then I can clean the tip at least.  LIve and learn!

greentracker98, is there some place that shows you how to take it apart or is it just a couple of steps?  That would be good to know, especially in cases like this.  Thanks for the info!

Eagle the tip is basically three parts.  The nozzle the needle and the spring.  If you grab the needle from the bottom and pull straight back it will pop loose.   John

Thanks John. I didn't get back in time to answer. somtimes the spring doesn't come out with the needle take somthing with a very small point (something on the order of an ice pick) and pry up on the spring, but be verrrrrry careful you don't bend the spring out of shape.

Hey greentracker98,

Thanks for the advice!  It worked and I got to clean the tip.  Lesson learned....keep a can of propellant around for just such emergencies!  Hey, I'm learning. Thanks again, I was hoping not to leave the tip in a bowl of Windex until I could get some propel or another compressor.
