Thank you sir, but pales in comparison to your work

Augh! That's not true, my friend, but I thank you for the kind thought Smile. And I'll be looking forward to that future refueling scenario. That's going to be a massive project!

Cheers,

Russ

Thank you sir.  Appreciate your hosting.  One of these days going to start on the AMT "G" and the KC 135 to go into a hanging refueling display (1/72).

Well, after I had paint issues, she found her way to my shelf of doom.  Finally got it down and finished it up.  Minicraft 1/144 "H".  Done as a "what if", had the "H's" been sent to Vietnam back in the day.

C2D

Has anyone used any of the Click2detail brand B-52 sets?  They've got an XB-52 conversion set that I'm considering....

Hi C2D!

I'm not sure about the Click2detail sets. If anyone knows, it would Major Kong.

What scale/kit are you building?

Those first few micro seconds release such intense photonic energy it behaves as though it were infra-red energy. Both are electromagnetic, but rarely in our daily lives do we consider light waves themselves as potentially destructive.

The white on the bottom of the BUFF was actually gloss to help reflect the flash of a NUDET.  It's a hold over from high level nuclear deliveries.  I think the D midels were gloss black for the same reason.

GH,

If your building an early 70s "G" the bottom of the fuselage and wings should be white. If your cloning a "D" the vertical stab and undersides should be black. Hope this helps.

Yeah GH, breaking up the green on the back in front of the tail is an idea. Youv'e got a nice rythm going with the alternating colours, it's like your eye almost expects to see another band of tan there.

As for the actual colours, I think your best bet would be to ask Kong, he is much more knowledgeable than me when it comes to those accurate schemes.

Looking forward to your next iteration here!Yes

Thank you.  Planning on using MM 4766 Camoflage Gray with maybe up to 10% of their Flat White for the bottom, opinion?  Also looking at the pics, think I'll toss a little more of the tan on her back to split the two greens and tie the tan together.

Did you ever find the 1/200 DML "D" model you were looking for?

Painted the upper surfaces and pylons today in the two greens and the tan, along with the tanks and engine pods.  Will let that cure this week, hopefully get the undersides done next w/e.  Pics to follow that session.

Sad last two days, yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Countdown Disaster, in which Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee died in a capsule fire. Today is the Anniversay of the Challenger Disaster - tow shocking events in my life back-to-back.

But there is good news, I managed to find my Badger airbrush, buried in a storge garage and presumed AWOL until today. I hauled it up to my hobby room and it seems to be undamaged.

Tomorrow I pull some of the other paint hood pieces up as well, the exhaust fan and the actual hood I made 10 years ago.

I finished messing around withe the eight engine exhaust nacelles and it's time to re-assemble the engines and mount them on their pylons again.

I'll send photos if everything works out as planned tomorrow.

Update -Saturday; I'm ahead of schedule, I found more airbrush supplies and paint, I just some of it is still good. Here's my work layout for Sunday; Engine assembly:

Today was a good day, I found my misplaced build log and booked 1.5 hours cleaning out the exhaust nacelles for my BUFF. last entry I made was December 2007. Now I know I've worked on it since then, but somehow the log got put on the wrong shelf, so I never logged the bomb build. Since I have started bomb clips per Russ' plans, I didn't need the flat plate with the half bombs molded on it. So what I did was cut the half bombs out of the plate and made individual bombs. I think I did that back in 2010 or so, anyhow, as I said, a few small tasks didn't make it into the log but I'm back at it now. I need a new camera to upload pictures, but the other good news is that I got my CyberSpaceAge website back up and running so I can load pictures from there. if any of you are interested you can see my model scratch build work at cyberspaceage.com - looking forward to more building. Oh, and thanks again to Russ for gluing together those resin iron bombs for me, my eyes hurt just looking at them.

True, no one will ever notice, hey GH, sounds like great progress! Thanks for the link, they used to sell a resin wing-root a few years back, but looks like it's no longer around.

Go to the videos page up top, roll down to the review of it, and click on B52.....  $73.00 MSRP.

Got the wings and tail on the 1/144, just a couple of seams to fill/sand and send her off to the paint shop.Smile  Pylons are on, and engine pods and tanks are ready for paint as well.  Not typical loadout for an "H", but going to hang a Hound under each inboard (my era). Should have left off most of the external antennas that are on the later versions, but already drilled the holes, so used them as filler.....No one in my circle will ever know anyhow.
