Hey Ken:

When I see those wing halves I can still smell the black paint sealant I sprayed on the insides in my back yard -  that would have been around 2006 but I can't get dates right

Looks good from here, I'm still looking for those engines, I may need 'a little help from  my friends' on this one

PS I had a carpet just like that one, same original colour too...

Hi 'Kong;

I've been recovering from another medication issue. I'm a lot better now, first day I've felt normal in a lng time.

Just keeping my fingers crossed it's here to stay.

I found a box full of resin aircraft parts and thought it was my BUFF stuff, but turned out to be some of Berny's donations.

I love metal etch, but I'm allergic to super glue and that kind of does in any attempt to work with it.  Nice kits but really need to find those engines. By the way thanks for the offer, I may have to take you up on it if I can't find the stuff. I worked on the engines and took a lot of Russ' suggestions to make them look more authentic, so sure would like to know what in heckalujah I did with it!

My hobby desk is almost clear of stacks of kits.

I still haven't found my BUFF kit, but as mentioned previously, she hangs above my office desk, no engines, payload, paint, not even SLEB......

But fall approaches, and pretty happy to see the cool green on the surface of my hobby desk again.....

Hey Jim:

Progress. I haven't had a chance to 'explore' the new baggage.

I have a model room in my new place, but it is overloaded for a while,

and lost all my BUFF build kit in the move, it is here, I just can't see it.

Had my left hip replaced July, and recovering well.

My brain is fried from the morphine - hate the stuff.

Happy to see so many of my kits on shelves rather than in boxes or crawl spaces.

Mu BUFF hangs over my work desk, gently changing direction accaisionally from the drafts. Never a day without her.

Hey Jim;

It came back, my limited memory, that is.

So, the SLEBs weren't always directed to the bomb bay for AEBE processing (Automatic Extra Baggage Ejection) ?

Dang, had a few SLEB in my life. Like MILEB - you know, by law, they were extra baggage.

But forget all of that nonsense; that is a most honorable career you have had.

I can understand why you miss the Crewdogs, and the BUFF.

Always a great honor as well Jim to have gentlemen who've served like Russ and yourself contributing to the build. It is a huge benefit to guys like me to get your perspectives and detail advice.

To all of my American Friends:

HAVE A GREAT JULY 4th!!!

I will try to be more visible again.  I just changed jobs after almost 18 years in a steel mill.  Now I make foam rubber parts for cars.  Much less stress and better conditions.  Who knows, I might even finish a BUFF.

I was a Navigator, Instructor Navigator, Radar Navigator, Instructor Radar Navigator, Staff Weenie and Graduate of the USAF Weapons School.  That means I held the "vaunted 'S' prefix".  That and $1.35 might get you a soda.  I left the AF in 95 with about 3,000 hours in the BUFF.  The actual number varies between the documents I have.  That was 10 years of the BUFF.

I miss it and the Crewdogs every single day.

Many thanks Russ!

The slack time will give me a chance to sharpen my honing skills, or hone

my sharpening skills; after I lost use of my painting hood do to MIL issues

I took up blade sharpening to whittle away some hobby energy.

It's repetitive, formulaic, and mind-numbing; perfect for a guy like me!Dunce

My BUFF is now hanging in my living room at my new apartment, and it makes the new

place feel like home. Sure hope I can find the build kit soon!

Thanks again for your good wishes,

Dom

Dom,

Come on down, I just replaced two ball joints on me Ford F150... Bout 45 minutes is all it took.

Seriously,  I hope that goes well for you.

I got a few boxtops here, I cut the sides off and just save the front. Im thinking when the glue finally gets to me i can always build a few picture frames.

"H" engines are done,painted and have the auxillary air inlet doors open (idle) Am I EVER glad that process is done. Cripes....  Wings are in the shop now silver base- currently zinc chromate yellow to be topcoated with 36118  Gunship Grey. Need to locate some "current" markings as I want this one to represent a currently operational Barksdale jet.

I liked that Big Bad and Beautiful series, especially the box artwork. -it's a beaut

That's a great kit, looks familiar... ; )

Lemme know if your going to trash the box cover, I save a few of those.

All the best with the build(s),

Hey gang.  I'd like to start my Minicraft 1/144 B-52H next week.  I'll be doing it in conjuction with the Boeing GB.  I think it will be a fun and fairly simple build for me.  All comments will be appreciated.  I'm headin' to San Diego for the National Homebrewers Conference this week.  So I'll be ready to go by Monday or Tuesday the following week.  Beer Big Smile

Well guys,

I get nothing but crickets out here in the field....Tongue Tied

Where'd everybody go?

My BUFF is packaged and ready to move to my new digs,

8 years older, but still a pretty sight.

If/when I find the build kit, and a surface to work on, we'll be back in

business.

The good news is that I gave my kits a priority moving in, and now I can actually see most

of my kits on the shelf;

I call it "DOM'S HOBBY SHOP"

I always wanted one of my own, and now I have it.

errrr....Zip it!I just don't sell any of 'em....I like them too much...

Tx

Well guys;

My BUFF still graces the ceiling in my old home. I've moved 10 van loads of stuff into my apartment and it literally reaches the ceiling. I've lost hundreds of hours of sleep because of my hip joints and back.

Worst of all: My BUFF project box is MIA.

I tried to plead with some of you like Al and Jim, but guys, I cannot remember what the box even looks like right now. I think my brain is in denial, I can't remember where I put my packing tape....PropellerDunceClownDeadWhistling

I've got these big fargging centipedes running around, 3 inches long,

get up at night to 'comb my hair' and step on one of those ....jeeez

Anyone down there got a spare flame thrower?

But back to my main complaint; where in heck did I put, pack, or stack, my BUFF project?

Winner of the question gets a free gadget, Geeked

Hey Jim;

I have to to say I've been lame of brain lately......since this time last year I got separated, started moving, lost my job, found out I needed both hips replaced, moved a second time, and caught pneumonia.

I was off line for quite a bit there, and I lost track.

Poor lost soul all right. Getting back in the saddle but not looking forward to the 'ops'.

By the way, what is the SLEB?

Ok, I think I have enough hound dog 'spares', Now I gotsa bench full of GBU-10s (2000 pounders) and when I finish those its off to the box of SRAMs.... Getting up the courage to start a current B-52H from a monogram kit like I just did with a desert storm "G"

As far as an edjamacation, If it has nothing to do with the BUFF , Do I really need to know it??? My brain has a limited storage space so I tend to keep it full of important stuff

A side note- anyone know if there is a 1/72 Weber ejection seat made?
