Plus, sweet idea on the base. Both gives it an environment, and a sense of scale with a readily identifiable everyday bottle cap. Clever.

Bottle cap my azz! Thats a kiddie pool he bought at Target. He also owns a 12" diameter penny.

Seriously nice builds all. I am cleaning out the GB's I am close to finishing, and got to work on the Clippers base. Looking for a Pan Am route map.

Ditto on the awesome job. If I hadn't seen it from start to finish, I'd say you were lying and that it couldn't be any smaller than 1/48th.

Some progress with Heinkel.

Dorsal gun position opening was "D" shaped however it should be round. Also I added MG mounting.

Engine air intakes fixed.

And I wasn´t satisfied with co-pilots back rest.

Landing gears.

Next thing is painting. I get my compressor from repair tomorrow so hopefully soon...

Looking good Wing_Nut! I know what you mean about paint waste.I prime my kits with Testors Grey Primer in a rattle can.The amount of paint wasted is a shame.I don't own an airbrush so until then I have to deal with the paint loss.

If you had told me the one of the hardest parts of this was going to be masking for the paint I would've said you're nuts. I never knew tape could be cut in strips that thin.  ;)

I can't figure out what's wrong with my camera... refuses to focus properly.

A tiny bit of paint under the engine. It really is such a waste... the amount you need to mix to be able to "work" with it compared to now much actually gets sprayed.

Hey guys. Nice work so far. Everything's looking really nice... and very small... Haha... Unfortunately I won't be able to do many updates so far because I have a Jeep to work on, school work, and various assorted events that are taking place around now. And an upcoming GB (for any of you who also like working small... A light tanks build).

Wing Nut: I guess that a challenge that we have to overcome in this GB- the minuteness of the kits.

Yeah I know, it's like feast or famine with me.  Ages without an update or 2 in 1 day. Whistling

The spinner is too bulbous so I mounted it on some brass tube and chucked in the Dremel to file it down.  I used a JLC saw to scribe the new panel line.

Flaps cut of and redeposited to sag.

A view of the cockpit.  The fuel line is .006" wire.

FNH-That look real nice so far

R W-  the link didn;t work.

I don't usually work on 2 things at once but hey, it's a new year let's see how it goes.  I've started getting the PE cockpit in place for the 109.  This stuff is, "Are you FREAKIN" kidding me?" small.  And hard to take pics of.Wink  The quality is amazing though.  The buckles on the belts a very defined for example.  I cut the flaps to have them droop and will do the same to the small sections behind the oil coolers.

Thanks guys!

Roger_wilco, Im still undecided but the only thing that really changes between squadrons are the stripes on the tail and some lettering near the door so its a decision that I can literally make at the end of the building process.  But it will be either Hickam or March.

Plus, I'm gonna paint it up as if its weathered and action weary.  This is a little fictional since the USAF tends to keep these things pretty clean.

Awesome C17 - I'm getting excited to see it finished,.  Now that Christmas chaos is behind me and my gift builds are done, I'm getting more optimistic about the Millennium Falcon.  You guys will see me posting updates pretty soon.

Thanks IL2!

I've attached the engines to the wings.  I started with the inboard engines first so that I could fill and sand the pylons easier..without the outboard engines getting in the way.  Also, I figured I'd prime and pre-shade the engines since it would be more difficult to do once the wings are attached to the fuselage.

Here it is with the wings and horizontal stab attached.  Starting to look like a C-17 now!  That tool next to it is a UMM scriber.  Its a great little scribing tool.

Just a little bit of cleanup and she should be ready for some paint!

Wow...I can't believe you even remember that much less take inspiration from it.    I had some stairs collapse under me today so a bit difficult to move around but I will get to it.

Hey Wingnut, if it's not too much trouble, could you send me / post photos of your old 1/144 Dora crash site diorama.  I took tons of inspiration from that piece, but I never saved the photos for later viewing.  Cheers.
