Hi guys.  I haven't forgotten about this GB.  I'm just trying to finish a 1/48 Revell F-15E that is close to being finished.

WOW I thought the end date had passed here.  Great stuff guys. Deattilio that is freakin' awesome work.

I just finished this the other day and if you will allow I offer it up as a 2nd entry. This is the next in my Peanut Butter Panzer series.   A 144th Pantherturm using a Panther G turret from a Dragon Panzer Korp kit and a scratched bunker.  If anyone wants to see them i will be happy[y to put up some of the WIP pics... like the concrete deal I made Stick out tongue...to make it official.

Marc: If it was completed while the group build was not going on, or wasn't included in the build before the kit was completed, then it doesn't count in the GB.

No worries. I figured at least the guys that are into this micro stuff would get a kick out of seeing it anyway.

Since I have a three day weekend, and the weather is conspiring against me I pulled out the Intruder and am fixing to head to the hobby shop for supplies.  Since there aren't that many pieces' I'm adding the Tomkitty as well.

Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.

Well guys, I'm still in it!  Its been a while since anybody has posted, and I realize that the GB end time has passed, but I know there are still a few unfinished models in this GB and I'm gonna finish mine up.

Anyway, I got myself sidetracked building an F-15E and an IAF F-16C.  But those are done now and I'm gonna finish the C-17A.

Here's the latest.  I painted her up in her neutral grey colors.  I went heavier on the base color because these planes tend to be fairly clean.  The pre shade still shows through, but not very starkly.  I will still add some post shading and filters but this one won't be as weathered as the F-15 or the F-16.

Sorry for the blurry pics.  I thought I had them in focus:

Impressive work by all!  I'd like to know where you all were able to purchase the patience for these projects?  OMG, I'm crazy myself; but this would classify someone as insane!!  Kudos to all!!

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

Here's a better in focus shot of the plane with some little details painted:

Here are the flaps and slats painted up:

Here's the C-17 glossed up and ready for decals:

Next up is a panel line wash.

Here's an update for the C-17.

I've got the decals on and I've given her a panel line wash using Ammo of Mig Dark Grey for dark grey aircraft.  Its the first time I've used an enamel wash and its the first time I've used any of these Mig or AK products (other than practicing on old models).  I thought this stuff was really nice.

Once again the pics are out of focus.  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but the camera gives me the little beep that tells me it is in focus so I'm not sure what to do other than take some photography classes...which I think is a good idea anyway.

I didn't really get a pick of the tail but I chose to go with the Hickam AFB markings.  I chose this because I fly into Honolulu quite a bit and see these C-17s on the ramp.  I also used the Draw Decal sheet for much of the general data stencils.

I still need to wash the landing gear.  After that its on to the matte coat and maybe some filters and a little streaking here and there.

This build is unrealistically dirty.  Just about all the C-17 reference photos show these planes to be fairly clean and in no cases do you see the panel lines like that.  Oh well.  I like to weather and I think it has more appeal this way.

That is looking AWESOME, Fly-N-Hi.

Good on ya for finishing out your build.  My Millennium Falcon is grounded until Chewy can rewire the hyperdrive.  No seriously, I regret that I wasn't able to finish my build.  I had a number of things at work and at home that made me stand down from my build.  But I'm probably going to get back going soon, so I'll follow suit and post my progress here like you.

Keep the C17 photos coming.  She's looking really really nice.  Great weathering.

Thanks, IL2!  I just finished the C-17 tonight (June 27th).  I'll have some pics up tomorrow.  Better late than never, eh?

Yeah, I was (and still am) looking forward to the FM Falcon.  I mentioned earlier, I think, that I have the 1/72 FM Falcon so I'm always interested to see how other guys build theirs up.

Well, here she is.  I do wish that I had finished this one in the GB time frame but it just wasn't possible for me.
