Weekend Madness 2013- Completed!!!

Thanks bufflehead!  It is almost finished!  The decals or on and drying from the SOL.  Maybe a hit with some dull cote and she will be finished.  I be done before my 10:13 P.M. deadline!  Wait till you see the paint job!

Stik, what a great GB!  Count me in for next years now!  I had a blast coming up with a paint scheme.  So her she is...Me P.1111!

Mine for the purposes of this build is done.

I need a better picture, and do some weathering but here's a crappy iPhone photo after the white wash.  I added a dull coat and left for night shift.

Thanks Stik,  I tend to overreach on this GB, so my goal will be to keep it simple.  Congratulations to all who have finished.  Pyr, what happened to the pics of your build?  It sucks what happened, but it would be cool to see how far you got (at least for this latecomer).

You and me both... Perhaps that's why I do so many that allow crossovers. It's not about collecting badges to me, but participating in more and sharing in the fun.

stik, chris and Eagle 90: Big Joe here. Lil Joe's in bed. I dunno how you guys do it with putting together all these quality builds in a short amount of time. Good job to all of you. I'm trying to set a start date for that V-19 for the weekend after this next. He's got a science project that's due by 5 Dec. We'll get started on it the weekend after that. Thanks for taking him in fellas!

I understand.  Hopefully you'll jump back in.  Just cleaned off the workbench, I now have a clean 4ft x 4ft workspace again.  Don't know what I'll do with all the space.  The bigger question is where do I put all the unfinished projects that lived there for the last couple of years.

I have 4 hours 20 minutes to go. This is it half way through the panel line wash. I've gotta get this dry, do a couple  of little things, attach the wheels and do a flat coat.

You have plenty if time. I was at that point on my Hurricane with about 90 minutes left on the clock... Lol!

Decided on my build.  Lots of grey and green here so I thought I'd add some color.  Monogram's venrable 1/72 F7F as a firebomber circa 1963.  Yellow fuselage and wings.  White vertical tail, black engine nacelles.  Red lettering and numbers.  White and silver 1000 gal. slurry tank.  Decals by Red Gecko Productions, tank by Lone Star Models.

WOW, some amazing work there is such a short time.

wolf, now that's impressive, a 1/35th armour kit in such a short time, and it looks amazing.

Bish, thank you for the compliments. I actually used a pre made wash on my Hurricane, if you look in the panel lines it's there. Black sure requires a different approach on weathering.

Thank you!  I think that is the first time one of my builds and the word quality were used in the same sentence!    It was a blast doing!  And I must add it is great to see Master Joe getting into the hobby.  We shall see if my 2.5 year old gets the bug someday.

I know what you mean, I haven't done a black scheme since I started proper weathering and I have a few kits that need it, so its something I need to look into.

Wasn't that 74/75/76 with white outline only markings? 

Tony, I completely forgot that Armee d'la Air operated 190s post war. it's a shame none were left operational for when they filmed "The Longest Day" 15 years later. Very nicely done sir.

In my attempts to add some rust weathering I mucked up the paint a bit.

Go with this one for now, but I need to try and fix the front armour plate of the gun.
