Bish

No problem wayne, plenty of time to decide what you want to do, I am not sure yet. At the moment, its between a 251/9 and a Pz IV J. Going to try and do more armour this year.

warwheels for me (mostly trucks) plus some modern german fire apparatus. will still get wierd with the big excavator and the D9R bulldozer and maybe a big choo choo. if i need something light will do PLA or JGSDF stuff.

hey bish

happy new year over there.

and i won't be starting anything at 1700 loc al time but it was a thought. i may go a little goofy on this one. even though the G-4 staff cars were built in '39 i suspect they were still around in '44. saw it in a movie so it must be true. may do that or the fire truck or the just ordered minart european tram. why not? i'm the only guy doing JGSDF stuff in the japanese GBs so....

i'll let you know. sorry for the confusion..

Hi guys,

I'd like to change my tune.  I have a 1/48 Academy P-38J that I'd like to get at.  Not entirely sure what exact one I'll do yet, but it will be a Pacific Theatre birdie.

Please change me from the Spit to the Lightning.

Thanks!

Allen

Thanks for the info. I like the banner that is available. One comment - can we add 2014 to is somewhere, or am I missing it?

ask and it shall be given

I am a huge fan of Fruils, that's what I have for my Pz IV, but they are a bit pricey. modelkasten are another brand that seem popular, but I have never tried them.

works for me. My skirts came in today. They're not mesh... but that's still fine. Solid works. I'm going hunting better tracks next.

I take it you mean the middle of the 3 badge options. No, that one doesn't have the 2014 on it. Its not always nessacery to add the dates of the build to the badge, some do some don't. It would be for wayne to decide if he wants to add the 2014 to the badge.

I think we had one of those before Ken, but that would have been a few years ago and of course we have had a lot of new members since. If you want to do that, go for it, I would certainly add mine. I reckon it would fit nicely in the ready room.

If you do, just stress that your not expecting people to post if they do not feel comfortable to do so, but only if they wish to.

By the way, seeing the 43 and 44 badges together, I rather like that. They suit each other very well. I'll have to have a word with Clemens about that.

Bish

I know what you mean Ken. But its one of the good things about the net is that people from all over the world can get together and do this sort of thing.

And we don't have to worry about jet lag or the models getting damaged.

Less than 48hours to go guys. We will kick this off at the stroke of Midnight GMT, just as Big Ben tolls.

Yea Bish, I dont know how I lived before the internet came into being. LOL Now, I'd be really lost without it.

On this note: before I found this forum, I was on a commercial truck and equipment model forum and we started a thread where we posted a picture of ourselves so every one could see who they were talking to. I think we should do that to. Where can we post it. ? If everyone wants to do that, of course.

This build is shaping up rather nicely. Too bad we can't get them all in one place.

Those builds sound great. I know SS will add you when he gets back on. I am considering the Tamiya Pz IV as well.

Hi All,

I've never done a group build before but I'd like to join in on this one. I also want to pick a kit that's out of my norm. I usually build 1/48 WW2 aircraft, and recently started working on my 1st 1/35 armor since 1978. It's a trumpter KV "Big turret" and its a nice kit.

I got a Tamiya Panzer IV J 1/35 for Christmas and I'd like to build that for this group build. The kit seems lacking compared to the trumpeter kit and I'll have some work to do, and we'll see how it goes. I already purchased some am mesh skirts for it since the kit had no skirts included.

Sound like I fit in? What I can't figure out is how to add a new post to an existing thread without replying... <sigh>

No problems gary, sounds like a great idea. That's WACO is a nice kit. I did a dio with mine many years ago, it was one I was really proud of, I just wish it had survived. Look forward to seeing yours.

Viejo, nice, look forward to that. I had planned on doing a full V-2 launch scene many years ago, I got a Condor V-2 and one vehicle, but never got any further. Most of the vehicles were in Resin then. But with SH releasing some injection stuff, I have been thinking about giving it another go.

V2 is 1/72 cmkit w/launch pad, P-36J is 1/48 Revell. I'll try for both.

Yeah I have a nice set of WWII encyclopedias and they are loaded with great info from the very beginings of the lead up to the war to a good deal after the war. I need to study a bit but there is sooo much to choose from! Also my wife is Filipina and her Dad was fighting with the American Army and had been captured, but escaped during the Baatan Death march, I would also like to do something in his honor (he survived the war but has been gone for several years now). I'll just have to do some research. During the escape his brother was shot and killed, he also was shot twice but recovered from his wounds, and when able to fight again, in his words.... " Killed many Japanese with his bare hands and bolo".
