Joe: I think you are referring to the 1/48 resin pit, right? I didn't test fit the 1/32 one yet but I hope it's too large and not too narrow (way easier to fix IMO)...

Be careful of the Aires interior sets on the Hasegawa Stuka builds. I see surgury in the near future due to fit issues.

Surgery on myself...or the kit? I'm already thinking the dremel tool may have a place in this.

The D-9 set is really nice. It's basically a collection of all the Aires sets for this bird for way less money

I finally pulled the trigger today and ordered my kit online. I'll be doing the 1/48 Italeri B2. Hopefully I can do it justice.

Well after alot of thinking on this build I have decided to leave the engine panels closed up as I see no real way of being able to show the whole snake motif with them open/ off. I will use the interior portion of the update kit and open up the port machine gun access panel in the wing but simply cannot take away from the snake them by displaying an open engine bay. I'm not happy with the thought of not displaying the engine but know I would later have regrets about not displaying the snake motif in its entirety.

That's probably a good move their Joe, I am sure you can find a use for that engine at a later date.

I found out to my delight (and my wallet's sorrow) that Mega Hobby ships from Runnemede, NJ, about 45 minutes away from me.

Nice kit. I have Italeri's D-5 kit. What do you think of this one? Have you looked it over yet?

Its awful how that's some times happens. There you are, a nice new shiny kit all safely wrapped and sealed. And the next thing you know, bang, there's plastic all over the bench just screaming at you to put it together.

It can be dangerous, however. There is a condition called "aftermarket redundancyopia". On a few occasions, I've ordered Eduard mask or paint, etc. for a kit in my stash and found it 'somehow' was already in the box with the kit. Hmmm. (Now, all AM has its own separate box)

The box art sure looks nice on that kit. It would be a shame if contents were left un-inspected. I once read where dedication to modelling could be questioned if someone has too many unopened kits in their stash.

Yes,  especially when the stash at the store is as big as the number of kits currently being worked on on my work bench.  that would be about 9.

24 pages and this build ain't even on the taxi way yet.  While the growth of my kit stash has slowed considerably, my decal stash is slowly increasing.  This will cause my kit stash to increase.  Take this build for instance.  I don't normally build the losers, but I had a chance to buy both the British and German Battle of Britain sets by Xtradecal a while back.  Now I'm thinking the Stuka will need some escorts and the 109's on the sheet are very colorful, so I NEED some 109's but don't have any.  So off to the hobby shop for some 109's eventually(haven't built the new tool Airfix 109 yet, but I do have the 1/72 dogfight duo in the stash.  Until then, ICM's E-3/4 is a nice piece of kit.).  It's a dadgum conspiracy I tell you.

Isn't that a real pain when you have to do that.

Actually, I haven't yet bought a kit to match a set of markings, YET. But that is the thing with those AM sets, you always have lots of left overs. I bought a set of decals for my B-24 last year, and it came with markings for 5 other B-24's which all fit my own project, so that mean I will have to get some more B-24's unfortunately.

I was thinking the same thing.  I see Mac on Facebook from time to time, and a few are still here but the rest seem to have drifted off into the ether.  Good times and great fun.
