Nice work going on in here. Congrats to those who are done, and with such fine work indeed.

Coming along nicely there, Nathan. I look forward to more.

Nice to hear about the Trumeter A model, Bish, and that they've corrected their past sins with the B issues.

I am wondering....would I be absolutely nuts to tackle this scheme?  I've already done a 'dry run' with the air brush to see if such fine white lines are possible. They are..but with a tiny bit of overspray with the tamiya white I tried. I will tinker with other airbrushes and paint brands. There will be NO room for error! Maybe there is another way to get those lines. Hmmm?? Still 'scheming' about my G-2 scheme. as it will be a while until I get I the thing together anyway. I may chicken out and go with the usual Rudel scheme...Or, I may not! Devil

Well, as this is a Stuka GB, I thought I would bring this to everyone's attention. Finally there is another choice for the Ju 87A, the Trumpeter kit has been released and I am looking forward to some reviews. If it doesn't suffer from the same issues as the B, I think I will add this one. It doesn't say if its an A-1 or A-2, but I am guessing the latter. I think I would defiantly do this in the same scheme as my 72nd build.

If anyone does come across any reviews, I would appreciate fi you can let me know. Thanks.

Nathan, glad to see you're back! The cockpit's shaping up nice; that quick boost stuff looks great. I've never used it before but may have to try some on my next build. Keep up the good work buddy!

ajd, looking great. Nice work on the decals, and hope you get them settled down soon.

Nathan, great to see you! That resin radio sets looks great. I'm going to throw some rocks at my PE radio stack now.

Ok, I'm back. Never seen the nicking done to a seat before, that is extremely cool and thanks for the idea, mate.

Whoa, I've been away from my Stuka for way too long! There's some good work going on in here, its about time I joined in again. I'm picking up where I left off with the cockpit. I decided to go out of box on this, but I did break down and order a radio set from Quickboost. I thought the kit one was pretty basic, along with the kit seat. Here's a comparison shot:

The radio set is for the Tamiya Storch kit, but its the same type of radios, and I'll cut it a bit to make it work. After checking some ref. photos, the seat in the real thing is pretty basic, so I decided to just dress it up with some nicks with my dremel. I used a larger burr and scratched the seat cushions to give them a stressed leather look, and dinged up the seat and head armor some. Its hard to pic up in pics:

I then brushed on some Tamiya cement to smooth things out. Then I fitted the radio stack and added some wiring to the cockpit, trying to keep it simple:

I also added some straps to the ammo bins with lead foil:

Cockpit color is up next!

Yeah, he mentioned pulling from a 109 kit so I checked the jagdflieger stuff first. I'm sure some companies use artistic license with markings so hard to say if it's maybe from another unit type or just a conglomeration that the designers thought looked cool! I know the German's had their WildeSau units so could be a variation on that?

That's the same book I have mikey, glad to see I didn't miss it. When aj mentioned wild boar, I did think a night fighter unit, but nothing there.

Bish
I just checked my book on Luftwaffe Emblems and I couldn't see that badge in there, I am not even sure what the black part is meant to be.

I looked in my book as well; "Luftwaffe Emblems" by Barry Ketley and no sign of it. Does look familiar to some wild boar designs I'd seen elsewhere though....

6 coats of microsol hasn't done the job, its time to bring in the big guns. And Bish, I believ it is supposed to be a wild boar on the squadron badge.

Nice work there aj. I just checked my book on Luftwaffe Emblems and I couldn't see that badge in there, I am not even sure what the black part is meant to be. Its either from a none German unit or, my guess, its been made up.

Well here is my pieced together decal job. I jacked a squadron badge from a hobbycraft Bf 109 decal sheet just to add some color and make it interesting. I can't say I have seen it before, can anyone identify which squadron?

Now I am having alot of trouble trying to kay these down.

Looks like I am going to have to invest in some solveset.

I think I am going to break down and get a vac canopy. But I will wait till I place my next order from Run For Cover in Brooklyn, NY to save on shipping. I love those guys.

SchattenSpartan

The good thing about the Stuka is the low parts count. I don't have to paint/assemble/mask gear bays for example. The parts count on the Hasegawa kit is actually quite low and the Eduard PE I'm using is probably going to be only a bunch of small additions to the Flak 37s and their mounting brackets as well as the canopy frame... The only really time consuming step should be that gorgeous Aires cockpit...

Now I have that same Aires pit that some swine forced me to get Wink i'll only use the exterior one for mine, but I will probably keep the cockpit PE for when I get a 32nd D. I am hoping next year I can cut back on GB's a bit and give myself to do my kit along with the others as its part of a large project. So I will be watching closely.

So, no pressure Big Smile

Well, lets hope it gets here soon. You certainly have a lot of catching up to do with all those 190's you have going. Be interested to see how much you need to thin the kit plastic. I know in 72nd it usually needs quite a bit.

Scott, that engine looks amazing!

Bish: I'm going to start soon, buddy! I need some proper tools for working with resin first though (and a few proper dremel tips for thinning the fuselage halvs). I ordered all the stuff I need already, but I don't know when it's going to show up....

I must say that working on a 1/24th scale kit makes it so much easier to add the little things to spruce it up, of course the downside to it is scarce AM parts and finding shelf space to display them but if someone were to come out with an F-4J I will find room for it.

Great to hear the comments on my model. I did some research on it and found the pilot was a very talented and lethal flyer. I also had never done one with the Italian markings and was glad I chose it.

Shooter, I think either one of the countries you mentioned would look pretty cool. Hungarian ones have particularly colorful tail feathers!
