I've been thinking about building Tamiya's Gamma Goat in 1/35 and this is a great opportunity to do just that, could you please add me to your roster. Thanks, Terry

Jibber, you are in, thanks for joining Beer

Well, here is this little guy finished. I must say that it looks better in real life then in the photos.

Thanks Cast! Your Jeep looks great!

I finished up the HMMWV.  Like I said in an earlier post, it's the truck I was assigned to when I was stationed in Germany.  I had a lot of fun building it.

Very nice dusting on that Jeep and the figure is in a perfect pose. What Jeep kit is this and thanks for getting me in.

I have to admit I haven't followed this thread so did the windows on the Humvee come with a little distortion or was that from a little heat. The soft top looks great and the camo job superb. They didn't spare anything on that suspension either.  Nice build SB. Terry

Thanks Terry!  The windows on the canvas covered HMMWV were plastic so they could easily and quickly taken off the vehicle and stored.  In order to "roll" the window down, you unzip it from the inside, so the window is a little floppy.  The distortion is a little overdone on the kit parts, but it's there on the real thing.

Yea I see what you mean but the way they molded the doors and the rag top look awesome and the windows work. I really like the camo job, its laid in there real nice and subtle, not over done. Nice job.

Thanks again.  This kit was a bit of a departure from my regular aircraft and sci-fi subjects.  I figure since I'm signed up for both the Armor in the West GBs I need some more practice with ground vehicles.  I'm thinking about joining the Hunter's GB for some more practice on a Tamiya kit before I attempt to tackle a Dragon King Tiger.

Thats great. Armor's awesome, there's such a array of unique vehicles you'd never get bored. Your 3 color camo is not unlike painting a King Tiger but with different colors. I built sailing ships forever but once I started on armor I was hooked. Theres a new Nashorn kit from Tamiya that looks like a nice build, a little pricey for them but it has good reviews.

I saw that too, I agree about the price.  I picked up the Dragon Premium Edition Nashorn at a show in April for pretty cheap.  I've been building up a small stockpile of armor kits, but I was just looking for the right time to do them.  I think being on the forums here and in GBs will help me out a lot with it.  I've already learned a lot from reading all of the great posts here.

I've built that kit, lot of parts and mistakes in the assembly instructions. Just look ahead and study the pictures and parts, you'll be ok. If you happen to make a mistake, we all have with Dragon Kits but theres tons of great detail and options. When you start and have a question I usually make notations in my booklets, maybe It'll help.

that turned out nice. did you A/B freehand or mask.

my truck is coming along. a friend is going to give me pointers on detailing the diesel engine. i have to build a cardboard form to make a wood form to make the bows for the cargo compartment and i may be mixing paint for the first time, orange with some yellow, right now i am trying to get up the nerve to break the front wheel attachments on the differential, drill it out, and add curved attachments so i can have the front wheels turned.

Thanks Wayne!  I airbrushed it free-hand.  I drew the pattern on it first with a white colored pencil the painted over it.  I'm pretty pleased with the results.

i will have to try that. i usually tape or silly putty for a harder edge though i am experimenting with a technique to soften the edges using SIMPLE GREEN.

Here is the beginning pics of the B-17 Bomb Cart from the other B17 Kit. If I could get more carts, I could do an airfield train. With all the aircraft I've done and the ones I bought recently, I think I can do a bomb dump

And heres proof I am playing fair Big Smile I know most peiople wouldn't question it, but I would rather show those few.

Some progress here. The photos appear almost black and white, but they are in color. maybe next time I will choose a different background. So far it has been lot of painting and very little assembly. Painting is very straightforward, it is all metallic color.

Thank you gentlemen. Yes, it was part of the Berlin air lift. I have read a bit about it and thought it would be an interesting subject to build.

Cheers...

Casternuovo would you mind if I switched my build from Tamiya's Gama Goat to:

Dragon Kfz.69 6X4 Vehicle w/ a towed Pak 35 in 1/72.

I'll get started on it on Monday and post some pics.

Thanks, Terry
