Wow Terry!  I'm not sure how I missed all those updates, but it's looking good.  What is that gargantuan thing behind it?!

Thats a Marines LVTP5A1 for the Marine Anniversary Gb\B in 1/35. I still have some touch ups to do on the paint and finish painting the leather cushions, I tried to give it a weathered look, still at it. I'll give it an overall wash and paint up some detail. This vehicles tows a Pak 35 artillery piece that I left off because of the "No Arms"nature of the build but I plan to include these pieces in a 1/72 German RR diorama. I have other Braille pieces and a lot of ideas.

A lot of people dropped out of this one, I'm not sure why because its a very cool subject with a million options.

I agree, there are a lot of cool ideas for this.  I have a bunch of kits I could have chosen, but I decided to do the HMMWV I was assigned to when I was stationed in Germany.  I saw your train in the World at War GB, very impressive. I can't wait to see the diorama you're putting together.

That's a pretty big vehicle, glad to know it's in 1/35, I was thinking that was just too big for Braille scale. I thought I was going crazy.

Thanks for the nice words, so why don't you jump in and do a RR piece. They're not as difficult as they may look and all the skills you've used on armor and aircraft, boats etc can be used and they look really cool on the shelf. I was talking with Wayne a couple days ago and I think theres a ton of cool RR kits to choose from. Take for example a low ride gondola, add a flak 38 some barrels with the track they give you, a base and a figure, instant dio. My problem is I want to do them all "right now" but I have to stick to my plan and get what I need for a 72 dio and another in 1/35 on a smaller scale. That should run me right thru the summer. Thanks again, Terry

I have to admit, I've thought about doing one. I thought a diorama of Oddball's attack on the train yard from Kelly's Heroes would be cool. One of my students asked if there were any kits of the German rail guns, and I was surprised to see one in 1/35. Too bad I don't have $900 to spend on a single kit

your talking about DORA the 800mm RR gun. it's hugh in any scale but batshit crazy in 1/35. check general discussion for pics of a 1/72 one. if you break it down each rail truck is a whole 1/35 tank kit, the gun, the lower cross structure, upper structure, and the ammo handling ( 2 kits) so that is  9 or 10 kits easily.

trumpeter makes a nice K-5 for $120ish plus shipping  which i am doing in the RR GB. hobbyboss makes a nice 1/72, better than the hasagawa which i did build. most companies make extra track but, at least in 1/72 it's better to lay your own. also low side gondola, high side gondola and heavy flat car in 1/35 plus a bunch of armored train stuff.

I forgot that this build was going on.

I am really swamped right now, however if I find the time, I have a 1/48 MASH Bell 47 Iroquois that I'd like to get out of it's box and on my build table.

How long does this GB last?
