Theuns Great work on the Thud, I would be interested to see if the Revell one has an undercart that is more sturdy than the Trumpeter one I did. It is really flimzy, I had to make a cradle for it to transport to IPMS as to not break them off! Theuns

Thanks,
I will get a photo of the underside the next time I post updates. Here is the armament and fuel tanks ready for paint.

Had a few minutes this evening so I masked off the center canopy piece and the wheel wells. In the process, I broke off the vertical stabilizer. I've had some issues with this thing. Anyways, if I have time tomorrow, I'll shoot the primer. Then I'll find out what a poor sanding job I did.

mach71 Nomad your thud is coming along great! Nice, fast work, flyerduke, great to see an update on your -107.

Thanks Craig and mach71,
I have all the time in the world to work on my builds as I am disabled and can work on them all day if needed. Keeps my mind off the pain most times.
I should be ready for primer in a short time. Just got some more small parts to get together.
Right on Craig, been wonderin' where the 107 updates were! Keep at 'er...

On the Bench: Nothing on the go ATM
Doug, you're really movin' on that 105. Nice work.
I decided to focus my attention back on the 107. I boxed up the Bf 109 and placed the 107 front and center on the work bench. Come hell or high water, I'm going to finish this thing before the closing date.
Theuns Very nice office you got there :-) Theuns
Very nice office you got there :-)
Thank you Thenus.
Here are some update photos. Now it is on to building some more if the sub assemblies.
Thanks guys,
Yep she's gonna be big alright.
Get a BIG space on the shelf for that monster, Nomad!!
Lookin good Doug!
Okay here is the start of my F-105D. The details in the cockpit were not as good as some of the Revell kits I have built plus my shaky hands make the matters worse.
Thank you Rob.
Welcome Nomad...we've seen you around the other threads...good havin' ya.
Thank you sir.
Welcome Doug, your on the roster.
I would like to join this GB. I have a 1/48 Revell F105D T-Stick II.
-12 degrees F here south of Montreal at the moment
Hee Hee. I'm in the Midwest and the forecast is calling for the mid 50's this weekend, so the plane is getting a coat of primer on Saturday. My co-worker got sent up to Montreal yesterday for a business meeting and said when he got off the plane last night he thought his eyelids were going to freeze open. Now he remembered why he moved from New York.
Geez, scot..we will not warm up till April/May here in Quebec, so, I have to crack open the patio door and wear a mask!!
Just to give an update, I am waiting for it to warm up a bit, this Revell 1/48 F101 is too big to fit in my spray booth so I need to airbrush it in the garage. Also waiting on some paint I ordered.
I did find this:
So at least we can say the ejection was probably conventional out the top.
I did not find anything on the -107 here:
http://www.ejectionsite.com/frame_sg.htm
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the center canopy section would blow off. Then the complete seat section would eject riding the rails upward. Hopefully clearing the intake. Seems a little hairy to me.
Good question.
I think I remember the seat coming out on extending rails. Plus the fact that an ejection happens VERY fast. The seat would probably clear the inlet in a few 100th of a second. I would guess that the relative airflow would be more of a concern, as in any high performance jet.
I looked online but did not find anything about the F-107 ejection sequence.
How dod the pilot eject from that 107??
That F107 is coming along good, can't wait to see some finish on it.
I finally got movin' on my 107 today. I glued the seat in and the 3 piece canopy in place. I'll re-mask the center piece once it's good and dry. I still have a little sanding to go until I prime. Hopefully things will move along once I start painting the exterior.
Yeah, scott, I've experience that kit in the past. It does do up nicely with a bit of TLC.
Please don't get the idea I do not like this kit, it does turn out to be a superb model I do enjoy building it.
