As the co-host, I say you can grab a badge for sure Doug, the part's on route and I suspect nothing else will change on the plane. I will post a pic on the front page and change it when you get the windscreen in.

Look'n awesome Craig.

Well I guess I am saying I am done with the T-Stick. I have some minor touch-ups to do and wait till the new windscreen comes in from Revell.

You all tell me if I can get the badge without the windscreen.

Scott - The Voodoo is looking good.  I'd like to find a quality 1/48 kit in the near future.

I found a little time to mask and shoot the three black areas of the plane.  Up next, touch up a few over spray spots and lay down a gloss coat for decals.

Another anecdote; last night my wife came downstairs to find me on the floor, head in the garbage can, with garbage scattered everywhere, which by the way, I think I need to adjust by bi-yearly schedule of taking the garbage out of the mancave.  I lost a small watch battery that took me month to get because it was a special order.  She was rolling and laughing her tail off because I reminder her of our dog when he got into the trash.

hat is to funny Scott. I have everyone in the house looking thru the trash, and crawling of there belly looking for the darn windscreen, so I know the feeling. still no luck. Looks like I get to email Revels parts dept. again. Damn it

Doug.

Doug,

Usually you find a windscreen only after you hear the crunch and feel that little tingle under you big toe.  Don't need to ask how I know this.

So far I have been lucky in that matter but there is the trash can hole that may have been in this mix here.

Theuns

Nomad, that depends on what look you are going for.

I personally use mostly airframe alluminium over gloss black.

It becomes lighter and more shiny the more you put on. Then you can dull it down again with alclad clearcoats.

I have seen some guys using dura alluminium on their mustangs and that looks vey good to me aswell.

Hope it helps.

Theuns

Thanks Theuns. I will get it ordered.

Well I am so close to being done but,,, I was just getting ready to glue it back on and I'll be damned, it slipped out of my hand and went into the black hole called the floor. Looked for over an hour and still no luck.

I may have to send for a replacement.

I was always partial to the Voodoo.

I'm building the Monogram (Now Revell) 1/48 version.  At first, I thought I was going to have problems, but this has turned out of be a really enjoyable kit to build.

Couldn't wait, when I got home tonight from work, I pulled the tape off.  Overall, the thin coats paid off and  the finish looks great, then the looking close at the front of the canopy, some bad ju ju for the Voodoo, a small trickle of thinned paint had cut itself through the upper left corner of the windscreen.  Maybe I will look into vacuforming a new one using this one as a plug.  Hee hee, that will go over good, since I haven't done a vacuformed canopy since I got married, 20 years ago.  The new wife didn't partake in me using both her new vacuum cleaner and her new range heating up stinky plastic.  Then again, this time I'll do it in the man cave with my heat gun and shop vac.

Great to see your on the downward leg Doug, once the decals are on and some dullcoat, we will be proud to see such a wonderful build.

Theuns, sounds like it was a very high standard indeed. Judges must really had to bring out he pen lights and magnifiers on that contest.

Well, got the final top coat on, letter her cure for 24 hrs then unveil the masking tape.  I am really concerned about the canopy, this is one of the first times I masked and painted it on the model and since I thinned the gloss pretty good in order to put on light coats, I'm thinking I might of had some bleed on the canopy.

We will see tonight, fingers crossed!

I just had the 105 and the 104 at our MOY , the competition was so stiff that neither of them even placed in the top 3 :-(

I will have to DRASTICALLY up my game to have a chance next year....
