Nice work Caveman,
Wow after all that, you need to take a break. I only have time and stamina enough to do only one build for Weekend Madness.
Good job sir.
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

That Uboat really turned out great Carlos, a modeler of many genres you are, I've seen you turn out great armor, aircraft, sea craft, even a space capsule.
Caveman, I loved the way those Mirage's turned out.
For everyone who's done their builds so far, they all look spectacular!
-Josiah
Thanks Josiah. I try not to limit myself... at least in subject matter...
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Caveman, the Mirages look great from here!
Eagle, that boomerang is looking pretty cool. Hope you're feeling better.
As for your fearful leader, I'm just waiting for the tires and tail wheel to dry so I can slap them on and call her done.
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
2 hrs before the deadline and the 1/35 Tamiya Spanglewagenthingie it DONE! Photo says 9:49 PM, but I finished earlier.....had to take a few minutes to get caught up on the NFL scores!!
A few shots with a nicer background:
After the initial paint job I applied some chipping using dark grey acrylic paint and the sponge technique. Just enough to suggest wear & tear and show the previous paint job underneath.
The only decals I used were for the license plates; just trimmed all the excess film so that there would be no silvering. The rest of the markings were done using Eduard masks, but the DAK symbol is an Archer transfer.
I didn't think I would have time for a wash to bring out the details, but I was actually running ahead of schedule so I used MIG Brown Wash over the whole vehicle and a bit of Dark Wash in strategic areas. I was tempted to dust it up a bit with MIG pigments, but I decided to leave it as is and send it to the photo booth!
Thanks lewbud for hosting this year's GB ! I had a really god time with this kit and hope to join again next year!

Great job Bufflehead!
I'm done! Put her wheels on and she's ready for flight.
Who's going to be in the third wave? Only the Shadow knows! Bwah hah hah!
Looks great bufflrhead, very realistic weathering. I need to learn your post shading technique.
Bufflehead,
Nicely done. I love the weathering you did. The exhaust really stands out as realistic with the rust and all. Great job.
On the bench:
A lot !! And I mean A LOT!!
2024 Kits on deck / in process / completed
14 / 5 / 2
I hate to ask, but could I get maybe a 2 hour extension!? I was just informed my daughters parent observation night at ballet class is in 20 minutes! I missed last years due to work, so if I miss this one! I PROMISE to have it finished by 7PM! Promise! Please?
Eagle90
outstanding buffalohead!
Well I hope the GB Boss will accept my request for an extension. Here she is! It was a fun little kit. No cockpit, first time trying this camo scheme, all in all, another great GB! Thank you Lewbud for a great one!
Thanks for the kind words guys. I wish these old Monogram kits had more in the way of decals. Some of the stencils would have been nice.
I really am impressed with all the quick builds. Lots of talent giving this build a shot. Great range of subjects too. Hats off to everyone.
By the way.....when does the "women swooning at the mere mention of my name" begin? I think I read that in the invite. Waiting patiently.
Eagle, a happy wife and daughter is a happy life. The extension is granted.

Very true! And thank you! As you can see, I just got it finished in time! Thanks again for hosting one of the most fun GB's on the forums!
Caveman, you've got to find them. I don't know where to look either.
My apologies gentlemen, I did not make it to the library today. I will get there tomorrow and update the front page.
Eagle, I am glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for joining this little build.
I'm off!! And after almost two hours I've progressed enough for me to feel confident in taking a break til tomorrow. I'll post pics when I get them uploaded.
So here's where I'm at so far...
I'm calling this build "Clean Up on Aisle 105" because of how much flash and ejector pin marks there is. I'll get some putty tomorrow and do some filling.
An artillery piece... Nice!
This looks tough but fun! Ima gonna dig through the stash to find something....

Would I be insane to do another one? Found another kit in the stash. This weekend is out but perhaps the next..........
All these old school Monogram kits. Should have put in for the Mafia badge too.
Hey, all those who have completed their builds, they look awesome! I made it back in one-piece from my Vegas trip. Looking at my schedule this week, I will officially be starting my build on Friday, exact time TBD!
On the Bench: Lots of unfinished projects!
Welcome back! I hope you did everything that I'm not allowed to do!
I've got the three sub assemblies almost done, so next up will be painting.
CodyJ, welcome to the Madness! We look forward to your build!
Josiah, the king of the battlefield is looking good. Keep at it!
Caveman, I was thinking about what to do for round three as well. Perhaps something without a prop.
Jelliot, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! Look forward to your build.
OK, now for pics of the P-40. This is Airfix's new tool P-40B. This version came in a Pearl Harbor themed Dog Fight Duo with their new tool Zero. This is the second time I've built this kit and there are still several decal sets to go (all OD over grey, gonna have to do an AVG bird to color things up). The only problem I have with the kit is that the tree attachments on the control stick and pitot tube are so thick, that I break the delicately molded parts trying to remove them. Anyways, on to the build!
Proof of non-startage
About three hours in
Before I had to go to work, starting to look like an airplane now!
Wasn't really feeling it after I got home from work Saturday night, so I went to bed. Woke up about 0830 and started again. Ready for primer now.
Ready for decalling when I get back from the MINI Club Christmas Party.
And done, with about six hours to spare.
I present to you Lt. Welch's plane of the 15th Pursuit Squadron, as she was on Dec. 7, 1941.
On to Wave 3!
Great builds all-much higher quality than one would expect for a 48 hr build-all quality work.
I'm planning on starting on my build this Friday @ 5pm CST-not sure what I'm going to build yet-haven't unpacked the stash from our move last year so it will have to be something that I can access easily-especially since we will be moving again in a couple of weeks-local this time though.
Bob
I have a question for the Chief. I am travelling on Sunday so would it work if I started one of these weekdays?
Thanks! I'm not sure what all is on your "Can't do list" but I am pretty sure I have you covered
CavemanWelcome back! I hope you did everything that I'm not allowed to do!
Well, went downstairs to put the first coat of Olive drab...I was expecting to be able to finish this tonight, but the barrel melted. soooooo hopefully I can go to the hobby shop or hardware sore in the early morning and find something suitable. I have to be done by 1500 because I will not get off work until after the deadline
