Thanks, Bish. I think you will like large scale. Easier to work with for sure, of course they need a little more detail.

jay, lovely build there as well. really nice unusual underside and the top camo is just stunning.

I am now starting to get nervous about building a large scale aircraft, certainly going to have to go a long way to come close to what we are seeing here.

Doug, very nice, very nice indeed. Its great to see what can be done with kits from brands many would not have heard of let alone build. I really like that scheme and love the weathering. Would certainly like to see you build there Stuka if you can get one.

Thank you Piers... Good to see you posting again, With spring time here, there is so much to do in the yard and around the house that I sometimes beg for rainy days. But really, I had a few days here and there leftover vacation time and I took it to catch up on my building.

Hang in there Piers. I'm up to my elbows in A/C problems at home and am having bench attendance issues as well. Hope to see you around soon.

TB389

coming along well there. Ah resprays - sadly I still get way too much practice at that.

Allen109

Thought of using a 9 but then I'd have to build the model upside down...

Jay

That is a real stunner - the detail, the paint the decals, the weathering the whole package. Not sure what else to say.

And I misread one of your posts - thought you said you were avoiding doing an F Troop scheme!

Doug,

Wow, that happened real quick but what a great result! It is just so good getting to see all this work in progress and learn so much.

Tom

Like the look of your bird, the aluminium panels make it stand out.

Jelliot

great work on No.1 there - the nose art has come out so well.

I am in a similar boat to others with time pressures leaving little time for the model bench - only home on weekends so little chance to do much but gaze wistfully at all the half started projects. But work is work and hopefully I get the time soon.

In the meantime, I follow all the builds in this and other GB pages that I have started on, and watch and learn.  Thanks for the lessons and inspiration.

Thanks a lot fellows! I appreciate the kind words.

Jack, the rivets are all embossed so probably just the way the light hit some of them.

jubya: No problem man! I think most of us suffer from that procrastinitis you speak of. As I've read in somebody's signature block somewhere, " So many models....so little time."

Mike: I know I've done the backwards masking before. As frustrating as it is, one has to laugh. Keep it coming bud.

Doug: We've got the light on for ya! Wink

Unmasking is underway and I've come up on a couple of annoying snags, on the big one some of the 02 has lifted, not a lot but enough to mean I need to spot repair, and on the small one I masked the port tailplane backward -- I'll need to respray in 02 and remask to spot-in the 71 area. As these repairs are all airbrushed, I'll leave all remaining masking in place, and hope the 65 and 04 don't lift too... With luck I'll get a decent overall cover soon, then a protective coat to lock everything down.

Okay, target achieved for today, the E-7s have received their RLM 71:

I'll start removing the masking and see what touch-ups are called for.

Jay - very fine work, impressive end product. Yes

Are the rivets located on the wing tip section also made by you?  They actually look embossed, opposite of the surrounding ones, but could be just the play of the light.

Jack

Jay, Thank you and let me please return the kudos! Your rivet work is beyond compare, absolutely beautiful work. Love the finish on this one a lot. Bravo!!!

Joe, Thanks! I'm still doing some research but am narrowing it down little by little... More then likely be another "E". Still trying to figure out which one.

Gentlemen. I apologize for the long absence. I suffer from procrastinitis. I put things off. I have managed to mask the canopy.  I have applied 76 on the under side. I have even started another 109g 10 by revell. Its the same plane as the monogram I'm working on. Its the same exact kit just one was made in the 80's and the revell made a couple of years ago. I decided to go with another basic kit so I can work on the big things  before I really get down to the major detail work that you guys do. There are a lot of awesome builds here. I hope to one day be as excellent as you guys. I will try to keep it up. Thanks. PS I am sorry to hear about the recent losses.

I think I am going to call mine done as well. 1/32 Hasegawa K-4 done as "Blue 16" from JG27. AM used includes RB Productions belts, Eagle Parts oil cooler housing, G-Factor gear legs, MDC cockpit, BarracudaCast wheels/tires and spinner and prop blades, Eagle Cals decals. Riveted with a beading tool and painted with Mr. Color paint. Thanks to everyone who followed along.

Little at a time Mike, BSY in the Japanese GB has a great saying, " too much speed makes bad results, too little speed makes no results" your results are looking just fine!

E-7s masked -- straight forward but a bit time-consuming. The 71 goes on tomorrow!

Doug - a fine build with this one. Yes

I like the darker colour scheme, has a more ominous look to it.
