Johnny, I'm truly sorry for your loss.
-BD-
Many sincere thanks fellas! You guys have really set the bar way up there based on what I've seen so far on this GB. Gonna do my best just to keep up!
Jay, the scheme I'm doing is the 'Black 13' ( the bottom one). I love oddball schemes and this one really got my attention........
Mike
"We have our own ammunition. It's filled with paint. When we fire it, it makes pretty pictures....scares the hell outta people."
Joe -- thanks! No, the has slats are moulded separately, I just managed to get them to fit a bit better than the Tammy slats, which are a PITA to do closed...
Home from work with a few hours going spare, so it's finally time to get some work done on these planes. There's that strut to mount on the E-4, check them all over, wash and air dry them, then I can fire up the AB and make a start!

Thanks for all the kinds words folks. I hope to replace that compressor soon. This year was the first time in my life I've actually owed taxes.....ugh!......so funds for a new one are non-existent at the moment. This compressor was my second and last Silentaire product.......el crapo and even worse customer service. Any recommendations? I've been eyeing the Sparmax at my local Hobby Lobby. With the 40% off coupon...hmmmmmm.
Jay: Nice gunsight. I like the detail work in the windscreen too. I've often considered adding the gab handles out of some .10 styrene rod, but for some reason have never tried it. Perhaps on my current Emil.
Mike (T-bolt): That Hase E-7 is coming along nicely. Those pictures serve nicely in comparing it to the Tamiya kit. So the wing cannons and slats are molded in place on the Hase kit? Otherwise, they look similar.
Bob: Nice painwork.
Mike (Ruddratt): Fantastic work so far. That pit looks fantastic.
Meanwhile, my goodies from SB arrived today. I'll get cracking soon...
Joe
"Can you fly this plane and land it?...Surely you can't be serious....I am serious, and don't call me Shirley"
Johnny, I'm deeply sorry about your loss. My father died unexpectedly a year and a half ago, so I certainly can relate. I still can't get over it. In my particular case, modeling has actually been helping me cope a bit. A few hours here and there to keep my mind off him. Hang in there my friend.
Mike(Ruddratt) great looking work so far on the G-10. What scheme are you doing?
Jay
The Mighty Mo says no.
BishGreta looking canopy Jay. I like the look of the grab handles, I like using solder myself. At first I thought you had put the gun site on wrong, then I guessed it must be on a swivel mount, which I had not realised before. Nice work on the lights as well, are they
Thanks, Bish. The later 109s did have a pivoting mount for the gunsight to get it out of the way for takeoff and landing. The lights are part of the MDC cockpit set.
Bish Nice work on the lights as well, are they a part of the kit.

Rudrat -- great looking pit, superb work there, this one's going to be eye candy!
Bish -- thanks! pressures of work -- three weeks to go on the current teaching gig, I spent most of the Easter long weekend grading papers. At least they're not hand-written anymore! I didn't get to the paint, but I drilled out the MG ports on the E-7 that started life as an E-1, and glued together the broken halves of the tailplane strut for the E-4.
Painting this week, I promise!

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Thanks, Joe. My workbench is good compared to the top of my toolbox by the end of the day. Finished up with the front canopy.
Another pit that's all that and a bag of party mix!!! Wow! Nice work Mike!!
Was wondering where you had got to Mike. Nice work there, great looking pit.
Been a while since I popped in here, but I've been following the progress and man, I'm blown away by what you fellas have been churning out - great stuff everywhere!
John, my sympathies and prayers to your family on your loss.
Been waiting for some AM stuff to arrive for another build, so in the meantime figured I'd jump in here and share where I'm at with the Revell 1/32 G-10. The 'pit is done, with the main parts coming from the kit. I used the breech cover, rudder pedal supports, and stick from the resin set along with the IP and the PE pedals. The PE bits on the rear deck are from RB Productions, as are the belts & buckles. A bit of work on the fuselage had me removing the molded-on scoops and replacing them with resin bits from BarracudaCast, and a test fit of their exhausts show a near perfect fit with only minor surgery to the opening.
BrandonK It just can't be worse than that Revell F4U, it just can't.
Finished pic:(and a testament to my patience! lol)
Jay: Man the work you are doing on that gun sight and the rest of the interior is about as realistic as it gets bubba! Can't beat that with a stick! That work bench........
Mike / TB: You're looking good on the construction of those E's man! Like Clemens said I can't wait to see some paint slingin' here!
Bob: Your progress looks great!! I was going to mention the landing gear angle and then read your text about it not being glued in yet. Lookin' good bud!
Sorry to hear of your loss, my deepest sympathies for you and your family.

Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur!!! - Anything said in Latin sounds profound!
Small update. Got the gunsight attached to the IP and now I am working on the front canopy. I want to get that installed before I break off the gunsight. Grab handles are made from solder.
Sorry to hear about your dad Johnny. My deepest condolences.
On the bench:
A lot !! And I mean A LOT!!

Good to see you back Joe.
John: Sorry to hear about the loss of your dad there bud. My dad's getting up there in age and it'll be a hard pill to swallow when that day comes so I can only imagine what you're going through. As said, it's really good that you got to talk with him.
Sorry for the lack of participation in the last few days fellas. I've been out of town with my family and had no computer access for the duration and no smart phone but had an awesome time. It's great to be back here with my good buddies though. Will be catching back up within the day.
John, very sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. That's a tough one to deal with. It's great that you were able to talk with him recently. It's coming up on four years since my dad passed and I didn't even sit at my workbench for six months after. Hope you find comfort in the memories you have of him.
Johnny, my deepest sympathies for your loss.
Johnny, so sorry to hear of your fathers passing, thinking about you and your family during these difficult times.
On the Bench: Lots of unfinished projects!
Matt: I love that camo scheme and you absolutely nailed it! Fantastic work all around!
Jay: I really like the scratchbuilding you got going there! Especially the gear bay doors look lovely. The weathering in the cockpit and that gunsight are very nicely done too!
Bob: That's a lovely, smooth finish!
Joe (mustang): Damn, that's one detailed engine! You're really making that beauty shine!
Brandon: Your engine is looking mighty fine as well!
Joe (lawdog): As always, your paint work is nothing short of spectacular!
Mike: some nice cockpit painting and masking work there! I can't wait to see 'em with some paint on!
John: I'm very sorry to hear about your loss...
Deepest sympathies, John -- just hang in in there...
Promised photo -- the three E's, masked up:
Painting will begin tomorrow or I'll know the reason why!
Thanks everyone. He had a rough time the last year. But he went quickly and quietly. I was able to see him twice last year. And had a really good conversation with him about 10 days ago. All of my friends from growing up called him dad. We always joked about the great big extended dysfunction family
John, tough event to walk through. 81... we should all be so fortunate. Know your in our thoughts.
Bob
Johnny, sorry to hear about the passing of your father. You and your family will be in my family's prayers.
Nathan, thanks for the heads up on the kit.
moose
John, sorry to hear bad news. I wish you and ur family the best.
Moose- the Zvezda kit is really nice and detailed but real finnicky to build. For simplicity I'd say the Hasegawa kit.
LOLOL... Jay, you should have seen mine just a bit ago, it was the "least organized" I'd seen it in a long while! lolol...Take care my friend
