Now THAT'S gonna be cool to watch come together!!! I'll get you entered in on the intro right now.
here it is after careful thought
crown: Thanks for the support for my wife and I. Lemme know when you are ready and I'll get you added in.
Dan: Man that truck is looking great so far bud. Too bad about what the clear coat did to the chrome on the bumper. Talk about a learning curve there! I know you'll get through it though.
Eric: You've got that interior looking the part. Just the right finish on those seat covers.
Hi all,
Was able to get out in the shop to see where I left off on the Road Runner. Also sanded out the primer so weather permitting I can lay down the base coat tomorow. If not I hope to get it on by the weekend. Also only have one door panel to finish up and I can assemble the interior.
L8TR,
Eric.
I sprayed model master ultra gloss clear coat over the chrome powder and it turned it a dull gray so I have to redo the chrome powder. I fixed the BMF and painted the side marker lights. I now have the screen gluded in and the hood hinge back in. The bumper now has CA glue instead of white glue. Limited time tomorrow with the Easter holiday but I would like to get the interior and cab set in place. The top running lights are still just test fitting and also added the Ram head. And also finally fix the broken bar in the grill
Little up date today I striped the chrome on the running lights, bumper and horns and applied the chrome powder. Working fixing the BMF on the "O"
Dan: I've never heard of the stuff....until now. Thanks for the heads up!
Ken: I've got you down in the intro bud! You are now good to hook!
crown: Your build pic is posted. Hope you'll jump in here for another one.
Joe, I just black gloss primer, Q-tip to apply powder and then light polish done. It only took me 10 minutes to apply the chrome power and polish on the grill. It took me longer to tape off the grill.
That's good news that she is home and recovering well. Thank you for your comments on the GTO count me in for next build what I'm going to build? don't know yet a Chevy of some kind
crown: Man that's a fabulous job on that GTO. Great color and awesome detail work round out this one!!!! It's great having you in here and have enjoyed watching your build come to life. Got anything scheduled for round 2?
Ken: I'll get you down on the roster bud!! Glad your in here!!
Dan: It's also good to see you back around buddy! Progress on your Dodge looks good so far. You'll have to fill me in on how this chrome powder works. I may end up using it myself.
As for my wife: The good word is that my wife is home with us now! She now starts the next chapter in her recovery as we set up her therapy here in Corpus and begin the doctor visits that will monitor her progress using routine CT scans to ensure everything is still ok. I'd like to thank everyone who has followed along with that progress and has offered their support and prayers for her well being and recovery. We're just taking it one day at a shot here and rolling with the punches but all is very well so far. She walks with no assistance and the casual onlooker wouldn't know she ever had anything happen save for an eye patch for the time being. She'll have double vision for a while but as I understand it that's par for the course and should get better over time.
My chrome powder came today. I'm going to get a lot of use from this powder it is so easy to use I just used a Q-tip to rub it on and then polish. I'm going to have to replace the O in Dodge my tape pulled it off
Made some progress in the interior with the seats and dashboard placement. Also drilled the pilot holes for the running lights and horns. They are just trial fit they still need to be cleaned up and some Amber paint.
Thanks I've been studying the pics.
I always did wonder how they would flip the cab forward if they hay engine trtrouble
A.K.A. Ken Making Modeling Great Again
Ken, the rack over the cab lifts up to allow clearance for the cab to tilt.
the guard rails are part of this kit. I used 4 kits to get all of the truck to fit.

Joe hope your wife is doing better.
Mopar. 1 Question, How does the coe flip forward. Yours looks great Okay 2 questions. where did you get the guard rails?
Joe hows your wife doing was she able to come home last week?
Folks I'm back home now. Gimme a few days to catch up and I'll make all the updates and postings. Thanks for all you guys support, Joe
Ken, this is what I did with my Dodge day cab exhaust.
Most of the older transporters that I've looked at ran the stacks up. If they are not run up it would be a muffler running along the frame pointed down. I've seen some cracker box tran on the internet I will see if I can find them and post them or the link

MOPAR - D Ken, looking forward to seeing your car transporter project. I've done 3 of them So far. The GMC cracker box is a cool truck to use and were used a lot for transporting GMs back then. What are you going to use as a donor ?

Question since you've done 3 of them, Where is the exhaust routed to? I don't see any stacks on the pics i'm finding.
Thanks, I'm pretty sure I'll get a Chevy Titan. My LHS has one on his shelf that hasn't sold, so I'll get that. Dave at AITM will be supplying the cracker box. I think I'll go with the day cab and put a seperate sleeper on it
Joe, I've been off this site for a little bit but I would like to post my current build already started. This is a Dodge Bighorn shot nose. Back in the mid 70's Dodge had plans to update there CNT series with a short nose version of the Bignorn. Dodge built 2 pre production models of the short nose trucks. Before they were to go into production Dodge pulled out of the big rigs so the short nose never saw production. One of the pre productions trucks is being restored out in the North West and on olddodges.com they have several pictures of the restoration that I've been using for my build.
Currently working on getting the interior painted and I've ordered some chrome powder 3 weeks ago to use on the front grill. I've scratch built the exhaust stacks and used some PE for the grills. I used a AMT Diamone REO for the frame, a Frightliner rear surspension, Detroit deisel from a Petear it and the Dodge cab is a Frontier Resins cast.
Mustang
My build will be GMC Crackerbox COE and Revell Car Carrier Trailer and a load of new 1965 Chevrolets.1/25 Scale
thanks guy's this is a fun kit if I was old enough to drive in 66 this would be it. The color was close to the metalic aqua that was only offered in 1966 for the GTO to bad it wasnt a convertable
Crown, that's a lovely GTO! Really like the colour!
Gordy - productive "off time"! Those are all looking good!
Crown, That one fantastic Goat you have there.
Thats it Im done with the 66 GTO
